I am NOT kidding. I am NOT making this up. The next Pokemon games are "Black 2" and "White 2". Sequels--yes, SEQUELS--to Pokemon Black and White. I'm VERY excited for these!

The designs for the new Kyurem formes as such look rubbish to me, literally like they took parts from one, and parts from Kyurem, and glued it together. There definitely could have been better execution there.

I totally agree with this. Legendaries never appealed to me anyway, so it isn't a deal breaker for me.

I'm not super excited for these games, but I'm definitely going to look into them when more is revealed. If it's something that appeals to me then okay, I'll get it. If it's the same thing as the first game, but with a different legendary then it isn't worth my money because I already have the first game and I don't care for legendaries. That's pretty much my plan as far as these games go.

Considering how everyone was expecting a third version (Pokemon Grey/Chrome) or even remakes of Ruby and Sapphire, having a a paired sequel like this was certainly a big surprise. I'm not sure what else Nintendo has up their sleeve, but I'm taking that fact that they're shaking things up a bit as a very good sign.

Here's what has been revealed - these games are supposed to be a brand new adventure instead just of a tweaked version of Black and White. As to what that will involve, no one knows. There are a lot of rumours flying around, ranging from having Hoenn involved somehow (maybe including the weather trio, or even visiting the region itself as a second land to explore) to having it be a continuation of the first Black and White.

Personally, I'm not going to pass judgement too quickly, but I'm excited to see what happens next. There's supposed to be a wealth of information revealed on the April 8th episode of Pokemon Smash in Japan, and new gameplay footage the following week. That means the next couple of weeks should answer most of the questions in our heads.

The games are expected to be out in Japan this June, and will be released in North America, Europe and Australia sometime this fall.

It happens 2 years after the events of Black and White.

There are new main characters and only one rival--all are new.

New gyms are going to be mixed with old ones, as well as towns.

Half of Unova is now frozen. (Probably Kyurem's doing....)

The Unova Regional Pokedex now has 300 Pokemon in it--including all Gen 5, and others from the other four generations.

In short? I'M SUPER STOKED!

I hated that we couldn't get the other gens through most of the original black and white games considering I don't like many Pokémon from the fifth gen. I'm super excited about getting this now~! I loved the plot and places, it was only ever the Pokémon that bugged me, and now it seems that that will be remedied. ^-^

The first gameplay trailer has just been released (in Japanese) giving everyone a better glimpse of what will be in this game.



In addition to some of the details already mentioned, here are a few other things that can be seen in the trailer.

- The two new gyms are Poison-type and Water type. The trailer shows a lilly-pad based puzzle within the water gym.

- The rival is seen conversing with a group of several people all wearing the same uniform (new villainous team perhaps?).

- New areas for possible sidequests, including an arena and what looks like a studio for an action movie.

- Since most of northeastern and eastern Unova is covered in a glacier, the starting town is in a new location to the southwest. This town leads to new routes and new cities (probably the location of the new gyms) before connecting to the rest of Unova near Driftveil City.

- Route 4 has been heavily altered, as it now features a settlement. This is probably the completed resort that was under construction in the first Black and White.

- The end of the trailer has mention of an event for Keldeo, a pokemon that has yet to be released for the games. Chances are that there will be an event to tie in with the game's release when it comes to North America this year, much like with Victini when Black and White came out.

I have to say that this time around, Game Freak is really putting the effort in to make this as original an adventure as they can. It may take place in the same region, but with all the changes being put in, it's obvious that they will make good on their promise to bring us a whole new adventure to experience.

But with all these answers come a few new questions. What will the role of the new rival and the new researcher be? Will one or both of them play the role of the antagonist after Team Plasma's defeat? Will Professor Juniper make a reappearance, even though Nuvema Town seems to be covered in ice? How will the new map arrangement alter the flow and ordering of the game? And will that ice ever be removed from the region, allowing players to explore the entire region?

I guess we'll have to wait until the game's initial release this June to find out.

BREAKING NEWS - A new animated promo video has come out, and even though it's in Japanese, it's way more stunning than any of the gameplay trailers Nintendo has used in the past.



Wow, just... wow. Even if you don't know the language, it's easy to get a several answers (along with a couple new questions) about what the games will have. What do you guys think about it?
