It ends up leaving the rock musician less when songs are downloaded. I support them. Despite the download alternative, I still go to a music store and buy CDs. Does anyone here do the same? It helps the rock musician out more financially.

The majority of revenue from an album goes to the artist's record company than the artist themselves, so I don't see the argument of 'it leaves the musician with less'.
That said, I will if I really like the artist and/or album.

As often as I can, and as long as the CD's are available in stores.
If I have to order the CD online, I might as well download it.
Just bought the latest Angels and Airwaves album. Two CD's in one tasty package.

I always buy my CDs at FYE or Best Buy, because Walmart always sells them edited and/or damaged. Personally I dont think it acts as a reason to download instead. You may have to wait for CDs to come in the mail, but it makes the CD that more sweeter when it comes.

Really, have to nul-vote on this one. I don't own any MP3 players or iPods to download any musics onto, and I don't believe in senselessly downloading music on my computer, either. If you are unsure of who you're downloading something from, it's then a reckless and careless mistake to be had.
On the other hand, I really have no need for CDs, either. Most of the music I listen to I access by way of Youtube, considering it has most everything. Maybe if I had the money to spend, I'd look into buying some, though I'm not necessarily sure if any of the musicians I prefer are even of the rock genre.
If it means anything, though, my mother buys CDs every so often, mainly from Alterbridge. That's a rock band, hands down, so that must count for something.

WHAM BAM! Saving the music industry, one legitimate CD purchase at a time.
Just purchased a copy of Foo Fighters' "The Colour and the Shape".

Since most of the music I listen to are from Djs that aren't on itunes(even more well-known ones) I'm pretty much limited to downloading.

I don't really need CD's because when I want to listen to music, I either just go on YouTube or turn on the radio. And I have downloaded a few songs, but only to put them on my MP3 player or use them in video creations. I'm not one of those people that downloads 1000 songs at once everyday.
My dad still has a bunch of CD's that he bought a while ago that he sometimes plays in the truck on long road trips, but he doesn't buy any more CD's now.
