Around 1995-7 a children's Lion King magazine was published weekly featuring games, puzzles, quizzes, colouring pages and educational info on animals and nature, plus entertaining stories. This magazine was called "The Lion King, A Nature Fun and Learn Series".

"Hakuna Matata" was a series featured in these magazines starring Timon, Pumbaa, and either cub or adult Simba while they are off having adventures in the Jungle. They meet a whole cast of interesting new characters which may be considered semi-canon - there's a cheetah named Swifty, an old rogue lion named Tanglemane, and Kataka - a meerkat with whom Timon has a brief relationship.

These stories are very poorly known but I have managed to collect all 31 stories that featured in 80 issues. You can read them here: http://s281.photobucket.com/albums/kk23 ... unaMatata/.

Stories scanned and uploaded by DeviantArt users Lil-Cheetah, Fran-The-Pan, animon and KanuTGL. Search help provided by Rinjapine.

I apologize for this being a multiple post but as no one has posted since my last one I would just like to point out that ALL 31 stories are now online. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Looks awesome.

Umm... I had all the Animals of Farthing Wood magazines. Those years were the phase of my life where I wanted a pet lion and a fox. Yeah.... How could I think that would happen. LOL

OOOOOOOOOOOOO! Interesting! So far I've only seen little snips here and there of characters like Tanglemane or Swifty
