the brown wolf from the pack sounded a lot like Marice lamarche with a grudgier voice when he delivered the line "the old one spoke the truth about balto, we must go!" however when he delivered the line "how dare you say that." and "it isn't right." in an earlier scene, he sounds like a different person doing it. now I know Mr. Lamarche is a darn good actor, he has my respect. he did the brain, Orson wells and father from knd just to name a few. but I'm not sure and cant tell if its Marice or not.

I'm not personally familiar with Maurice's other roles, but I wonder if it might be Rob Paulsen, teh voice of Sumac. I know the two characters' voices sound nothing alike, but it could be the same guy.
After all, Jim Cummings did Tigger and Steele, so anything can happen.

Really talented voice actors are usually capable of producing many different voices for many different characters, with a variety of tonalities, ranges, and characteristics. That is an advantage they usually have over actors who voice characters, because they spend almost their entire careers working solely with their voices. Actors, on the other hand, have to concentrate on body language and posturing, "hitting the mark" (being in the right place at the right time for the camera), and even facial expressions.

I have always enjoyed Maurice LaMarche's portrayal of Balto better than Kevin Bacon's. Not that Bacon did a bad job. Rather, he did quite well. But LaMarche showed even more emotiveness and range in his portrayal than Bacon did. Without a doubt.

agreed jerseycaptian, marice made balto sound more older and grudgier and you can tell he did his homework with how balto was portrayed in the first film. both did a job well done bottom line of course, I just find it necessary to have the older grudge sounding balto than keeping the new fresh, energitic/adventuress and heroic one.

Perhaps you mean "grittier" or "gravelly" rather than "grudgier"? LOL The choice of words is key. "Grudge" implies something negative. And I am sure that's not what you meant.

But yes, you can easily tell how LaMarche was mimicking the basic timbre and sound of Kevin Bacon's voice, only older, wiser, and a bit, well, "grittier". Especially in the third one.
