You see him with one in a few episodes and in one (I think "The Golden Sprocket of Friendship" or "Louie's Last Stand") he opens it with one hand.
It kinda makes sense with his past too aquire one and back then there was no hype about carrying a pocket knife and a switchblad would just be a novelty.

Well, it's possible, I had never even noticed he had a knife actually! I'll have to rewatch these episodes... And I guess him owning a switchblade is possible considering the time period, though I doubt that's something Disney would have agreed to show?

In the time period the cartoon is set, automatic knives were not that uncommon. Often they were either cheap and sold as novelty items, or sturdy enough to be sold as genuine tools to farmers.
Interesting tidbit, they were quite popular with boyscouts.

Interesting tidbit, they were quite popular with boyscouts. A Boy Scout Knife was little different too a Swiss Army Knife like the one I always carry, a little tool kit but did they also carry switchblades as well?

These days they'd frown on him carrying a pair of nail clippers! And I bet he could use a gun! A little off but he's the type who would, and sides plenty of kids do know how (though no matter how good they are I'd be careful about them useing them!).

But at the same time, it's still possible to get a gun easily in the USA, right? Go figure...

Yeah, too easy, not that I don't mind it as long as they had a mental health test like where I come from (and two ref's supporting you). But a kid would get into trouble carrying a gun too school! Maybe not Texas!

Yeah but do you really see Kit hurting people (even if baddies) with a knife? i dunno, it seems a bit out of character to me. Even if he is badass, he's still a kid.

Not exactly, a better way of saying it is no choice. Oftern the macho tough guys who go around saying they could do it can't if ther REALLY have too and those who like Kit, non-violent and of his nature can (read something like it from a book called "Mark of the Lion"). I agree with you.

Yes, if he had no other choice, i guess he could...(and the same for Baloo, when it comes to saving people they love, they'll do anything!)

It's normal for the unlikely too do such things as they know they have too. What I said was a WW2 story about a two time Victoria Cross recipent but it's not just in war.
