After sifting through the second screen i stumbled upon something most interesting...  Simba had an aunt that was deleted during the very early ages of the film,when the Lion King was still about a war between lions and baboons. Naanda was brought to light by me and I was the first to draw any fanart of her follwed by Rinapine, Imvula, and now various others.

Nice find,but besides Naanda being Sarabi's deleted sister,she would have been Mufasa's deleted stepsister,or sister in law.

In the comic "An Unusual Choir" there are Simba's little cousins and their parents. Both appears similar to Mufasa and Sarabi, but we know that Mufasa has only one brother, so the lioness must be Sarabi's sister. Her name is not given, but I think it's possible they used the unused movie idea. Awesome find! It's amazing how many changes the movie has gone through before it was even released! I think a cool idea that Disney should do is that they should make like a special DVD or book that talks about what the original plot line was and then describing all the changes it went through during production to get to it's current plot line. That way, we would be able to know if there were any other characters that just didn't make the final cut!

Interesting! I was searching around dA and saw loads of pictures of Naanda and then I found out who she was :/ And I think Simba has an aunt and uncle in one of those comics that always send us on new tlk adventures xD Maybe Naanda was one of them? I needed a name for my version of Sarabi's sister anway xD Wait, Lion King was about a fight with baboons? They wouldn't stand a chance! The baboons would do karate and send them running!!

well someone put forth the actual script from where this picture and description come from, and anyone can read it! Except I don't remember where it was anymore D: ! in there sarabi has another 2 sisters, diku and dwala i think, or were they random lionesses? I don't remember :/
