Well... to be entirely honest, in my opinion it would have been way too repetitive. I thought about this a few times before and that's the conclusion I always come to. I mean, think about it. The first movie started with Simba being presented as a cub, ended with Kiara being presented as a cub. The second movie began with Kiara being presented as a cub... you get my drift? Besides that, the Lion King was an amazing and original movie. The Lion King 2 was okay too, but it probably didn't earn as much as the original did. The Lion king 1 1/2, although I myself prefer it better than the second movie, was pushing their luck. A lot of people see too many sequels as boring, and eventually it just doesn't gain profit altogether. A Kovu and Kiara cub would have been both repetitive and pressing for another sequel, which was not in Disney's best interest.
And if that's not enough... I think Kovu and Kiara were too young. They were still in Simba's pride, which in real lion standards means they aren't old enough to start a pride of their own. Male lions are usually kicked out of the pride when they're old enough to start their own so there's no deformities within the family and such. And from all that I think it's safe to conclude that that's the reason why they never had cubs...

Having another cub presentation and prompting more sequels with the same ending will quickly get repetitive, boring, and predictable. Which takes a lot of the entertainment and "magic" that's intended to be in the movie. I think the ending to TLK2 was perfect as is and is something that should just be left alone.

Even if there hadn't been any cubs for Kovu and Kiara at the end of the film - and it's understandable why as they're way too young. They both look to be three in a half or so in the movie. Plus Kovu's mane isn't long.
But I'm not entirely sure of anything as far as Simba's Pride is concerned because I don't consider it a sequel for TLK. My own personal opinion, of course.
I think that the ending for Simba's Pride should have been as powerful as the ending to the first, but that's just me.

Moki Hunter has a good point, it would be too repetitive, and by the looks of Kiara and Kovu, they only just joined the prides together.

Well, I hope that someday they make a Lion King: Kiara's Pride..or something. So at least you know what their cubs look like.

If they ever actually did want you to know what their cubs looked like, they'd most likely make a children's book or something. Those are short, and only have to be like 5 pages. They wouldn't make a whole new movie... or at least not if they were smart.

i think that kopa is going to come back after the hakuna matata treatment with a cousin of timon and pumbaa, just like Simba.

Well, that's an OK idea for fanwork, but a movie...nah. For a start, Kopa isn't even disney's creation, they just allowed him to be published, but for fan theories, it's fun to look at.
