I wouldn't believe it, there are no sources to official word, so yeah. Plus, Lion King 4...One giant old circle. No offense to fans, but you can only do Lion King so many times before it gets old.

Hmm...i heard this rumor also on DeviantArt. It's about how Taka becames Scar etc...I hope it's true

As much as I would love to see a Lion King 4 I think this rumor is going to remain just that, a rumor! Disney has already said that they're done making sequels to their older movies.

Unless the president of Disney rethinks his decision or Disney suddenly starts losing money and needs a desperate last chance to get out of a major downfall, I don't think a fourth Lion King will be around the bend anytime soon.

I should admit,if they make a fourth movie about Mufasa and Taka's cubhood,the story would be alot better then if they would make a movie about Kopa or Kiara and Kovu's cubs.

Well..... i think that if there was one, i would want to have the return of Kopa AND Kovu and Kiara's cubs. like my fanfic. there most likely won't be one, sadly. although there will always be fanfics. You could even animate one. but Who knows? maybe one day........

Making a film about the cub(s) Kovu and Kiara might have would be not only boring but redundant. Cub causes trouble. Parents try to make cub see they're going to rule the pridelands one day. Cub gets into more trouble. Cub grows up and becomes king/queen. And Kopa isn't even an actual character from the movies, so that's wouldn't happen. (Also it's not even said in Simba's Pride if Kovu and Kiara have a cub. Though I guess you would think they'd have one to make an heir).

If - for whatever reason - they were going to make another Lion King movie it should be able Mufasa, Taka (Scar), and Sarabi when they were cubs. How did Taka get his scar (and eventually become known as "Scar"?) And why/how did he 'team up' with the hyenas? Where did Zazu and Rafiki come from? How did Mufasa and Sarabi fall in love? (Many fans believe that Scar loved Sarabi, but she saw him as 'just a friend').

There would be so much more to the story to be told from that, rather than yet another movie about the main characters' cubs. Like Mighty said - it can only be done so many times before it gets boring. It'd be so much better to learn more about the characters we all ready know and love, not be introduced to more (probably boring) characters.

Now, all that being said, I would hope there would not be another Lion King movie. I loved the first one. The second one was all right - nothing really special. And the third one was kinda funny. But three is enough.

I like to think that putting TLK in 3D was leading up to that Or at least SP in 3D

Nonononono, DEFINITELY not. Having something about Scar+Muffy's childhood will just...ruin our ideas and will probably create half a billion more plot holes. Anything about the return of Kopa isn't the best idea either, as he's not even canon. I like this idea in fanfics or fanart but not in a movie. Anything else...hm...no, I'm too afraid Disney's going to screw it up like TLK 1 1/2 (I like that movie, but not as an ending to this whole awesome movie series)
Having a movie about Kovu+Kiara's cubs is too repetitive, and it'll end again with their cubs, which'll just make me want this to end already. Besides, it'll be a little sad to think that TLK started with Simba as a cub (Then he'll be some old, fat guy, and his colours might be messed up yet again.)
It's nice to have lots of films for a series, but you've got to pull the cord someday, or else it just loses...it's meaning. (and gains some boredom)
So anyway, I don't think that article's very reliable. Though it was right about Cars 2 and Kung Fu Panda 2, I don't think Disney'll be doing anymore sequels.

Just to say if they made a movie of when Mufasa and Scar (and all the rest), when they were younger, wouldn't it just be "The Tale Of Two Brothers" story animated?

I would love to have a Lion King 4, but It would probaly not have some of the original characters like Simba and Nala. Because they would be grandparents and not the main characters like before. And we didn't even see Kiara and Kovu's cubs at the end of Lion King II: Simba's Pride, which probaly means they didn't plan on giving them their own movie. And if they made the movie about Kopa it wouldn't make much sence, because he is not even a canon character. So, I wouldn't hold my breath on a Lion King 4 movie. Sorry but it is probaly true.

Searching it just pulls up rumours posted 1-2 years or more ago saying it would be released in 2012. Obviously, we're in 2012 and there's no mention of any such thing.

Not sure where they could go with it really.
A prequel would make the most sense, there's plenty of characters already established to work with, but it'd be touch and go whether it would be a hit or not.
I don't think they'd risk it nowadays.
