I was wondering what others thought?

I have many views myself.

1. It is, it's also a Native American name, well an English translation.

2. A nickname he got with the Air Hobo's or Air Pirates.

3. Something he came up with that he liked.

4. Though I doubt it, he made it up as soon as Baloo asked his name. I doubt it as it's not the sort of thing one uasually comes up with just like that.

5. He always had it but didn't know it's origin, a little haunting. He just had it.

Some say he hesitated when Baloo asked him his name, well he did but I'd be nervious about saying my name too someone I just met if I was in his shoes (well if he wore them!).

One can easerly see that it means a lot too him (remember Clownkicker?) so it's no silly nickname too him and has much meaning for him. Orphans often don't get much info on their familys, he had too be somewhere as a baby and VERY little boy.

What do you think? And Steet I hope you don't mind me putting this up, it just intrigues me.

I think all of them are realistic and could be true.
I would be leaning towards n°5 the most. He cares about his name, so that kinda excludes n°2 because he didn't like being an air pirate.
N°3 is possible too, but it's difficult to make a name out of nothing, he would have created it based on something...

A fanfic I'm working on is a mix of 1 & 5. I agree that he couldn't have made it from nothing and although the pirates did have nicknames like it, he was not one of them, just with them. He has too know somthing, little I bet but something. As for hesitating to tell Baloo, well I would if I were him, tell a guy your name and he may use it against you. By the way what do you think of him being part Native American? Or Uslandian or whatever. As Cloudkicker IS a translation of one of their names.

I'd lean to either 3 or 4. Perhaps he made the name up when Baloo asked him, and when he got attached to Baloo, he also got attached to Cloudkicker, explaining his anger when someone makes fun of the name, as they'd technically make fun of Baloo too? Perhaps subconsciously? Though, I think anyone would be angry if their name was mangled, made up name or not.
