I apologize if there's already a recent topic this (though I did not see one), but it's simple. Who do you think is the best Disney Villain and give at least one reason why.

Mother Gothel :3 But Scar is close second ;D

Reasons for Mother Gothel:~
1. She kept amazing magic which could help the world to herself.
2. She stole someones baby for her own greed.
3. She kept Rapunzel in a tower for her whole life.
4. She lied to her for that whole time and even called her her daughter.
5. She was willing to kill someone just to stay young forever.

I've never seen Tangled so I can't really comment on your first choice, but I can understand why Scar would be your second choice. He seems like a very popular Disney villain considering he was the main antagonist in the most successful hand drawn Disney film. I think most people would say either Maleficent or Chernabog (AKA Satan/demon from Fantasia) is the best Disney villain, but in my personal opinion, The Horned King is the best Disney villain.

Here are my reasons why:
1. He's really creepy looking
2. He's willing to take others lives in order to achieve his goals
3. He summons an invincible army of undead warriors at an attempt to take over the world
4. He's voiced by John Hurt

Not to mention he was voiced by Vincent Price, one of the greatest horror icons of all time

Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Because he had such a strong believe in God and thought that he was so good and pure that he couldn't see the most obvious things. That's actually a rare type of villains.

Captain Hook from Peter Pan,because he was voiced by Hans Conried.

And Stromboli from Pinocchio.

Yea I hear where you're coming from. He seemed to have an urge to commit somewhat of a genocide against the gypsies, yet have a lust for Esmeralda while claiming to be a devoted Christian. Very interesting villain indeed. Not to mention Tony Jays voice acting for the character was perfect.

Maleficent is also awesome. I've always liked her and not sure why.

Villain for the one I don't like the most, Frollo. Such a hateful person...
and reasons I don't like him were nicely covered by GoddessOfTheWolves.
Sad thing is, people like Frollo actually existed. Makes me sick.

Cruella Deville comes in as a close second. People who wear fur for the reasons she does are sick.

My votes go to Scar and Cruella De Vil!
I mean... Scar killed his own brother and then wanted his nephew killed as well!
And Cruella... Well... She tried to skin a bunch of cute lil' puppies to make herself a coat! Evil woman...

Well Scar got first prize for me he was just so evil, he was prepared to kill his own brother and his son to get at the throne and rule the kingdom ... thats cold hearted and downright nasty
But .. Frollo from the Hunchback of notre dame is second, because he was purely disturbed! His motives were truley twisted (hellfire:P) and he was definatly the cruelest of disney villans .. and he also has the best song

I think that Scar is the best villain. All of the other villains are ditzy and stupid. Scar is smart. He's evilly smart, but smart. I like the fact that he is smart.

There are SEVERAL villains I can think of near the top, and I can't narrow it down, so here are the top 3:

The Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - I mean, she's the ORIGINAL villain, and most villains after her have been modeled after her behavior and even her looks. She's so GOOD at being evil, to the point where you wonder how one could have not seen it in the movie!

Scar from The Lion King - speaks for itself.

And one I'm surprised isn't here, Judge Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. This is one of Disney's darkest films, thanks in no small part to the acts of Frollo. He is seen murdering people just because he doesn't like them (he says it's God's will, but it's pretty obvious halfway through the film he doesn't even believe that himself). He tells lies to everyone, including himself, justifying his acts to the point where he's OBSESSED with doing evil. That's what makes him a great villain.
