One of the scenes I always remember distinctly well when I think about TaleSpin, is the arrival of Rebecca in Plunder & Lighting part 2.

And, when you think about it...yes, Baloo was a total jerk by wanting to get rid of her immediately (twice in the uncut version!)
But sometimes, I also think...her attitude to him isn't exactly good either. I mean, she entered without his permission, criticized and insulted him ("sloppy, careless and rude") even though she doesn't know him! The place was Baloo's and was his since a long time. Considering that, the logical reaction to seeing a business man (or woman) entering your house to take it, is to get furious.

She even threatened to get rid of the place ("this needs a woman's touch...or a bulldozer" - again, in the uncut version)
I think that if she encountered a harsh pilot instead, he could have gotten mad and she could have been badly harmed or...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I also tend to think that men didn't like women who were successful in business in that time period. (lots of machos : "women don't deserve responsabilities, they must stay home and cook...")

In the end, I think that she's lucky to encounter Baloo, because despite his look and attitude sometimes...he has a big heart and would never dare to lay a finger on a woman.

But in fact, he DOES get angry in that scene : one first time after she says she wanted to bulldozer the place, but which doesn't go far because Kit immediately gets between the two and changes the subject.
He especially got furious a second time when she took the keys and said she owned the Sea Duck...("Oooh, that's IT!") Fortunately Molly arrived which made them changed the subject again.
And a THIRD time, when she suggested that he becomes her pilot (and again, Kit intervened by reminding him about the jewel)

So yeah...if even Baloo reacted like this, just imagine if it had been someone else?

It was her property by then, though he didn't know that. his attitude came out first but the last thing anyone should do is go toe to toe like that (and he was all three). But your right most would get wild.

She even threatened to get rid of the place ("this needs a woman's touch...or a bulldozer" - again, in the uncut version)

I think she ment the bulldozer as a joke about cleaning the place. As he could have thought of her as breaking and entering, and you know how the yanks get about that he could have harmed her. And even today women have it rough in the workplace, it's just un-PC too talk about it.

In the end, I think that she's lucky to encounter Baloo, because despite his look and attitude sometimes...he has a big heart and would never dare to lay a finger on a woman.

Who knows?

Just because one gets angry doesnt mean 'it's hurt the b***H time' he may have just yelled his mind into her, though he may have forced the keys from her.
Thank god for kids! And I think she was planning on giving him the job anyway.

So yeah...if even Baloo reacted like this, just imagine if it had been someone else?

If it was, the guy I'm thinking of is my former Dareing Dan like boss, I'd kill him!

Given the chauvenistic attitude of most rivaling pilots in "Feminine Air", it seems she could do a lot worse.

Yes, I didn't think about it, but I guess this episode is exactly a proof of what I'm saying

It's a good thing it's not so common now, heck a former flifgt instructer of mine was a women and she flys WW1 reproductions at air shows as well! A number of those aircraft if sent back in time would go unnoticed!
