When Strangers Are Your Only Allies, Trust Is Scarce

Plot

When a cruise ship sinks, everyone is evacuated and herded onto life boats. In the choas, families are separated and complete strangers find themselves rowing for thier lives together. The plan is simple, just follow the boat in front of you. Everything goes somewhat smoothly until one lifeboat has no passengers that know how to correctly row a boat. They quickly drift away from the others, unnoticed because of the storm. Luckily, they find a deserted island not too far away from the shipwreck. They may have destroyed the boat while landing, but at least they are on dry land now. Right?

This group of strangers must work together in order to survive on the island until they are found, if they are ever found at all.

Setting

A tropical island bordered by a large beach. Inland are tall trees and thick brush, but there is also a small fresh water lake that's great for drinking and swimming.

I am going to add another character later on, but I need some inspiration first.

Name: Cassie Marie Malone
Age: 17
Gender: female
Family: an older brother but he ends up on another life boat
Personality: Cassie is independant and hates it whenever someone tries to take care of her, especailly boys. She likes to deal with things on her own, but she could never live without friends. She is a very socail person and loves being surrounded by people. Although she has a "do it myself" attitude, she is very motherly and loves taking care of others. Her biggest flaw is not knowing when to ask for help or when to admit she is wrong, but Cassie is very sweet and lovable. She can be emotional and flustered easily, and she also doesn't think before she acts. Still, most learn to accept these things.

Personality: Sophie is very unhelpful and doesn't like actually doing things. She hates hard labor and is very stubborn about not doing the things she doesn't want to do. She is very pessimistic and does nothing to lighten the spirits of every there. She enjoys complaining and whining, and is very annoyed when someone tells her to stop. Although she tries not to show it, she is very scared of never being rescued which is why she does the things she does.

Name:Ethan Johnson

Gender: Male
Family: he has seven siblings

Personality: Ethan is pretty chill. He takes his time doing things and he doesn't put his effort into many things. Also he doesn't care how he looks. But he looks better than he thinks. Any girl he comes across they start giggling and looking at him or try to flirt with him. He doesn't get why they do that, he kind of likes it. He really just wants a girl to like him as a friend and not care about how hot he is. He's very popular and know to be the cool guy around town.

History: Ethan was born in a big family. Two girls and four boys plus him. Which makes seven. He's the oldest of the kids and mostly has to babysit his siblings after school and on the weekends because his parents are at work all day till late at night. He doesn't like babysitting but he was made too. Whenever he get's invited to some party or date he has to plan it later in the night when his parents get home. When Ethan was in highschool he was known as a jock. He's on the football team and runs in track. He's a great runner and the top runner at his school. Ethan also is great with arrows, but he never has time to use his set he got for his birthday. One day, it was the weekend and Ethan begged his parents if he could take some friends off his and his girlfriend on this cruise ship. He told them he would pay for himself and they said sure. But it looks like the ship sank and that's were it all started.

Other: He sometimes wears the white cap in the picture but not always. But when the ship sinks he wearing the outfit in the picture. He also wears a dog tag under his shirt.

Name: Arthur
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Family: Four older brothers (None open)
Personality: He is depicted as an irritable young man, a cynical and sharp-tongued gentleman. Some of his notable character traits include his terrible cooking skills, foul mouth. He's usually recognized for his large eyebrows, spiky blond hair and beautiful green eyes.
History: Arthur was born in a large family, with four older brothers, always making him do their work and chorse and such. His parents where tired of all their kids bugging them, so they sent them to different parts of the world. Arthur was sent to America, where he was assigned to stay with Alfred until further notice. Alfred's family decides it would be fun to send their son and his friend on a cruise, so that's how they get on the ship.

Family: Mother, Father, and a younger brother (none open, none go on the cruise.)
Personality: Alfred is an energetic and headstrong character, The self-proclaimed leader of the school, his catchphrase is "I'm the hero!" His ideas for solving problems are often absurd, but he is usually oblivious to the opinions of others. Alfred's ideas and inventions are grand, but rarely go anywhere. Has a crippling fear of ghosts, Alfred is frequently seen clutching a hamburger, or eating while speaking. He is often portrayed as a rude fellow and one who has disregard for whom his actions affect or just what they might be. Despite his faults, he cares about his friends and always helps others.
History: Alfred was born with one younger brother (Matthew) Who looked identical to him, although they were never twins. He was a very creative kid and grew up trying to do everything (Helping firemen, helping the police, doing other 'heroic' things). When Arthur had to move in with him, Alfred was excited to have a roomate. Eventually he falls for Arthur.
Other: He is voiced by Eric Vale, he wears glasses and always wears a bomber jacket.

Name: Vanessa Lamb
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Family: Only child
Personality: Vanessa's words often sting like wasps. She knows how to push people's buttons and can often tell wherever the person is lying or telling the truth. Why? She studies psychology and knows a good amount of ways to tell what is the person's disposition towards her and wherever he/she is being honest. Vanessa can rather easily tell that. Her observant eyes can also detect the start of an argument, and she avoids them more than anything else. She loves peace and harmony and can't stand when somebody breaks it. She is very patient and finds revenge useless. Sure, revenge does feel amazing. However, it's pointless. There's no benefit to it.
Vanessa stands between extraversion and introversion, finding conversations fun but she does not need constant attention. She is rather hardy when it comes to being alone as well. The flaws of her is her sensitivity. She is sensitive and she knows it, but she also despises it. She tries to hide it though.
Vanessa can also be rather manipulative when it comes to reaching her goals. She knows how to play dirty and she will play dirty if it comes to it. However, she does try to avoid doing so as she doesn't really want to hurt anyone.
She basically loves the world, but loves herself more.
History: While Vanessa was a kid, she had very little opportunities to find friends. Her parents did not let her go to the kindergarten and she had no siblings. She also lived without no real neighbors. That made her become rather shy and easy to hurt. However, Ness was a surprisingly intelligent child and self-taught herself confidence and manners. It took a few years until she actually could talk freely with strangers, however she couldn't erase the fact she was sensitive. She tried, but it didn't work. So, to avoid arguments and confrontations, she self-taught herself psychology, and then later studied it again. However, after her hard work she decided to take a break by going on a cruise, alone...

Name: Dave Randman
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Family: His father's dead. His mom and younger sister ended up on another boats.
Personality: Hard-working and serious. He doesn't really leave time for having fun and resting. Hot-headed, it doesn't take much for him to snap at someone. Even though outside he's cold and serious, inside he's really sensitive. He often even cries, just he would never ever cry in front of others, because he doesn't want to make himself look weak. Has a sense of humor, but it has to be one of those special moments when he has time to hang out with somebody. Though he mostly uses sarcasm anyways. Also helpful, but only until he thinks that he's capable to do all things people want him to do. Has a habit of often slinking away from people to somewhere where he could be alone, and think of his past and future.
Other: Is interested in biology. He likes learning about animal species and types of plants, and knows many. Also has three tattoos: dragon one is on his left arm, then some text in Hindi on left hand, and his name in some fancy letters on the right side, nearby his neck.
Appearence: Short black hair. Light skin. He's 177 cm tall (can't really convert that to 'feet' or whatever you use). Green eyes.

Name: Alexander Evans

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Family: Lives with his dad, but he doesn't come on the cruise.

Personality: He's a hard character to match, if you try to figure him out you will ultimately fail. He seems very cold and stand offish, but in all truth he's very creative and deep. He's never judgmental and allows things to be as they are. Strangely enough he grew up in Tennessee, so he's a bit 'country', but you'd never know unless you listen close enough and you'll catch his country draw plus on occasion he says 'ain't'. He's good a camping and is an expert outdoors man but again would never let it show. He is a bit of a troublemaker and is often caught pulling pranks on those who would get the most upset.

History: He prefers not to talk about it. (May be revealed later in RP)

Other: He's Emo/Goth, and he goes by "Xander" (Z-and-er). (and he might develop a crush on Cassie, If that's alright with you Black Rose.)

Ooc:// If you hadn't noticed, everyone is accpeted. I have added another character (and also made a slight change to Cassie's bio since no one joined as her brother). Solo, I don't mind Xander having a crush on Cassie. She just might return it. :wink:

Now, lets start! We'll start when they are climbing out of the water after their boat gets destroyed while landing on the island.

Bic:// Cassie coughed loudly as her head came above water. She gently rode the waves to the beach, her body to exhausted from the frightening swim to fight the current. She went back under a few times until her feet found the sand bank. She walked with the waves until all of her was finally out of the ocean water. Nearly collapsing on the shore, Cassie plopped down on the sand, the tide still lapping at her toes. Her skin felt itchy from the salt water, but she was too happy to be alive right now to care. Finally remembering the other, she quickly stood up and glanced around the beach. "Hey!" she called in a hoarse voice. She tried to clear her throat, but the salt had made it scratchy and only a drink of clean water would help. "Everyone okay?!"

Sophie fought against the waves, causing her to get all turned around in the water. She had been to the beach several times, but her anxiety was up and she could barely control the movements of her arms. She finally popped up on the surface of the water farthur from the shore than she had been before. She sighed, feeling too tired to make the swim to shore. Then again, she also knew she couldn't stay out on the calm waters because she would eventually drift out to sea again, and that was only place she never wanted to go back to. She heard a girl shouting from the sure and recognized the short brunette as Cassie. Even though they had exchanged names on the life boat, Sophie still second guessed herself and determined that the girl must be Vanessa. Or maybe not. Whatever. "I'm not okay!" she called back, still trying to gather enough energy for the swim to shore.

Xander yelped when he crashed into the shore. A massive wave had taken him under and he had lost all sense of direction, until his body was slammed into the sandy bank. He sat up and coughed, spitting out water. His shaggy hair, now wet, covered his eyes, making it impossible to see anything. His clothes clung to his athletic frame as he listened to the girl's voice asking if everyone was okay. He sighed and fell back on his back not wanting to reply. But another wave came and hit him, making him yelp and scramble further up the beach, finally pushing his hair out of his face, revealing his crystal blue eyes.

Arthur clung limply to Alfred's back, fearful of falling off into the water. Alfred swam vigorusly towards shore, before a large wave engulfed them both. They were slammed up against the sand, and Arthur was the first up, coughing and sputtering.
"D***..." He growled, spitting sand and water out of his mouth. "Alfred?" He called, then rushing over to see his friend crawling up to shore.
"Artie? Hey are you okay?" Alfred called, and Arthur scowled.
"Hah, the stupid cruise crashed and we're stuck on a stupid island, with our clothes sopping wet in this bloody water. Do you think im okay?" He growled, helping his friend up.

Ethan's arms felt like spaghetti after swimming all that way when they fell out the boat. Once he felt the ground of the ocean he swam more unitl he was half way out of the water. He spat out the salt water that got into his mouth while he was swimming. Ethan just layed there for a minute getting his breath back to normal and looked up at the beach, knowing he was going to be here for a while. When a girl called out if everyone was okay, he just said, "Yep," Slowly Ethan got to his feet and walked toward the forest that was on the beach and stood in front off it. He looked at all the other kids who looked scared and tired. He sighed and yelled out, "If were going to survive we need to find shelter once we get everyone together."

"We're..okay i guess.." He said, smiling at Arthur, who glared. They looked around at the group.
"Hey..where's everyone else..?" Arthur spoke up, his thick british accent making his voice unique amongst the americans.

Vanessa felt a wave hit her from behind, making her almost lose balance. She wasn't a fan of swimming, and apparently she was not very good at it. She desperately waved her arms, slowly making her way towards the beach. She finally felt her knees reach something more stable than water - sand. She crawled the rest of her way towards land, and rubbed her eyes to get rid of the water.
"I'm fine." She replied, "Just a little exhausted." She added with a slight chuckle. The girl was still on her fours and decided to not to lay and rest. She knew that would make sense in that situation, but spending a long amount of time in the water made her feel slightly cold and that's why they needed to find a shelter and to make a fire.
She began trying to stand up, but the waves had clearly messed up her sense of balance and she almost fell down. She stood still for a moment, trying to regain her balance, and then moved a few steps forward. She rose her head only to see countless of trees ahead of her. She walked up to Ethan, the guy who was standing in front of the forest. "Agreed." the girl had to agree.
She was exhausted and any sort of shelter would allow them to rest for a small amount of time. Plus, she was feeling sick and cold and she couldn't help but dream about resting in front of the warmth of fire along with the rest of people around her.
"Hopefully I will not get sick." She thought to herself, but her hopes were brutally crushed when she found herself sneezing.
"A-achoo!" She covered her mouth. Vanessa may have been a mentally strong girl that didn't panic in bad times, but she was quick to fall ill and she wasn't very strong physically. She looked at Ethan with an innocent look. She really didn't want to be a burden, but she also knew that being cared for doesn't sound like a bad idea after all. She knew she will still have to help them, but she also realized the work she will have to do will not be as tiring as the work of the other people that ended up here.

When the boat crashed, Dave fell out and hit the ground, which wasn't too far, and got knocked out. He rode the waves, not having any clue where they were going. He woke up just as he hit the shore, and felt the sand going into his nose and mouth. He started coughing, and spew everything out. He looked around, seeing most people getting up, and cleaning their wounds. He looked at his scarred arms and legs, and then looked around, seeing forest in front of him. "Island?" he said, half to himself, half to the others, actually waiting for no answer.

Ethan watched the girl, Vanessa, come up to him. When she let out a sneeze. That worried him. There were no medican or anything to stop a cold here on this island. He sighed closing his eyes and running his hand through his wet hair, trying to think of what to do. (if it's night) "I think we should camp here on the beach until morning and should explore the island tomorrow. We'll also need to make a fire," Ethan sid looking at Vanessa. He camped alot when he was young because he was a boyscout. So he knew some things of how to live in the wild, but not all to survive. He walked over close to the dark forest and grabbed a few sticks and brough them back, then said, "The one thing I never learned in Boy Scouts was how to make a fire,"

Xander heard Ethan say he didn't know how to make a fire, he stayed silent for a moment then spoke up "Well ma' dad taught me how to make a fire, when we'd go campin'.... I thank I still member how..." he said, his country draw coming through, making him sound like a redneck.
