By watching the series, it seems pretty obvious that Becky thinks of Baloo as more than a friend. (she cries for him in "Bearly Alive", she admits loving him in "Last horizons", she's jealous in "A Star is torn" etc...) even though she would never admit it in front of him because she's still torn by running her business and him being his employee.
But is the opposite true? So far, I couldn't find much clue about it in the series. Sure, Baloo did save her a few times, but then again, he would save any of his friends (and even people who aren't)
I asked the question to Jymn two years ago, and he said that "there was supposed to be a love/hate relationship with Baloo & Becky. I thought there was pretty much equal evidence that they secretly cared for each other"
I've only found a particular scene : "Grual and unusual punishment" in which Baloo actually *wants* to lose weight for her and feels very badly when he realizes she's going to find another escort. If she was 'just a friend', I don't think he would feel bad about her going out with someone else.
Have you spotted scenes in which Baloo seemed to think of Rebecca as more than a friend?
(NB : I thought I had already posted this topic, but can't find it anymore so I'm reposting it...)

You know how men are, we're all gruff about it. Men of the 30's were very different then today. I think he has feelings but has no idea of how too show them.

A few scenes readily come to mind.
The end of "Feminine Air" when Baloo pulls Becky into his arms for a hug.
At the end of "Her Chance to Dream" when he comforted her after Captain Stansbury leaves, and when he's trying to talk her into returning to earth and calls her 'honey'.
And then there's "Mollycoddled" when he put his arm around her when Molly has been kidnapped.
He wiped away her tears in "The Incredible Shrinking Molly" (called her 'honey' again).
When he picked her up after the Duck smashed into the mountain in "Mommy For A Day".

Yeah, I guess you're right. That doesn't explain why he's been such a jerk to her in some instances (ex : "Save the Tiger", even though it's one of my favorites) Quote: The end of "Feminine Air" when Baloo pulls Becky into his arms for a hug.

I guess I'll have to do some rewatch. It's been a while since I've seen some of the episodes

Hech I'm a nice guy but can be a real ******* sometimes. Quote: The end of "Feminine Air" when Baloo pulls Becky into his arms for a hug.

Admitedly Save the Tiger (and maybe A Star Is Torn) were some of the defining points Becky seem more devoted to Baloo than vise versa, to the point of self sacrifice. Her Chance To Dream came kinda close though, he seems to get distinctly jealous of Becky's new attraction when Louie points it out. He also seems VERY vehement on getting her back home when he discovers the truth, even daring the Captain to go through him ("yeah, skewer him all ya want, Captain Blight").

Well it's true; I guess that if she was only his boss, he would have let her go. At the same time, maybe he was more worried about Molly without her mother. (considering that's what he said that convinced her) That reminds me that in the french version, instead of saying "Think of your life, think of Molly!", he says "Think a little about me, uh?" (I already said it many times, I hate the french translation...)

(I already said it many times, I hate the french translation...) I admit that kinda derives from one of the more touching aspects of that scene. By that point in the original Baloo seems less frantic about saving his own skin from the 'g,g,g,ghooost' and has become more dire and insistant on saving Rebecca. As he says in a pained tone 'You GOTTA come back with us'.
