Animation Source Forums

Hi! I'm not sure if someone has asked this before but I was wondering how to make a picture of a fan character when I came across the screens from the movies at Balto Source.

My question is:

Are users allowed to make images of fan characters out of these screencaps?

Thanks.

Your answer to that question is yes. those screencaps are free to use for Renders for your fan characters.

Technically, no...those aren't "free to use". If you render off of an existing screen capture, you are altering copyrighted material (though it happens here all the time). It is simply that Universal Studios has not pressed the matter of people altering their property. Screen capture or not, on this site or not, the images there (and the characters) are copyrighted property of Universal. And you alter them at your own risk. (But as I said, you would simply be one of a couple hundred other members of this site who have done so.)
