Through Doubt And Fear, Can Hope Remain Strong?Plot(slightly based off Wolf's Rain) Flames ate away all that was left of Hope's past. Only the words of a dying dog remained, telling her to find a better place away from the every day dangers of being a dog. "Look to the raising sun and don't stray from the journey." Hope promised to the elder dog engulfed in fire that she would find this paradise, and she set out on journey. Two years later... Hope's litter was not born in a lush paradise, but in a cardboard box beside a dirty street. Now that they are grown, Hope never speaks of paradise, hardly believing it herself. Everything changes when her mate is killed by a car and a lethal disease has Hope on her death bed. She finally tells her children to find paradise and escape the cruelties of this world. So the three sibling head out on an adventure that their deceased mother should have taken years ago. Their path travels through cities and towns and forests where they convince other dogs and wolves to join the journey. But every dog wonders the same thing: Does paradise even exist? Will these dogs risk everything for a myth that may not be true? It's all up to you. SettingThe siblings will start in a busy city, where they are first tested by being put in the pound. This is where most of the other dogs will come in. They will move on to a small town where they visit the remains of the barn mentioned in the plot. More characters can be added here. Then they will come to a forest and a wolf pack who laughs at their paradise story, though some of them join the dogs in the end. After that, we'll just have to see... Rules  Although this roleplay isn't advanced, I would like a good size post from everyone; a paragraph would be nice, but I understand if you can only get a few sentence; no one-liners! I will dismiss you from this roleplay if you constantly post one line posts I am not asking for a roleplay example, but I will look at other roleplays you are in; if you are not in any other roleplays, then I will ask for an example Please be willing to take on more than one character. There will be need for minor roles and temporary characters, so feel free to add in these smaller characters anytime. No wolves in the beginning. I repeat, there will be no wolves at the beginning, just dogs from the pound/city, then town dogs, and then wolves. No exceptions. Have fun with this guys! My CharactersName: Sadie Age: 1 1/2 Gender: female Group: Sibling Breed: Collie/Lab Mix Personality: Sadie isn't much of a leader, but she knows how to communicate well with other dogs. She is very kind-hearted, but also naive and too trusting. She is very shocked when a dog lies because she never lies herself. She tries to avoid conflict at all costs, and can be emotionally hurt very easily though she forgives quickly as well. She hardly ever yells and it is a scary sight when she does because her voice seems permanently hushed and sweet. History: ^ In Plot ^ Other: none Appearence:  Name: Jackson Age: 2 Gender: male Group: Pound Dog Breed: Shepherd/Rottie Mix Personality: Jackson is very tough on the outside, using his strength and size to intimdate. He doesn't trust very easily, though he does find himself caring for a dog more quickly than he would like. He doesn't speak much, but all the dogs know how he feels through his gestures. He doesn't think much before acting, especailly when another dog is in danger. He pretends not to care even though he is very self-sacrificing. History: Jackson ran away from home, and found that his family had already replaced him when he returned. He pretty much gave himself up to the pound, though he fights them every day now. I love this idea! You sure outdo yourself Rose<3 Name: Romeo Age: 1 1/2 Gender: Male Group: Sibling Breed: Collie/ Lab Mix Personality: Romeo, being the runt of his siblings, is naturally the quiet/distant type. Although most of the time he doesn't talk to newcomers, he likes to make his opinions heard. Most dismiss him as a pup because of his size and never take him seriously, and this factor always angers him. When someone mentions his size, he bares all his teeth and one of his siblings has to hold him back from tearing the taunter apart. Not that he could, of course. Usually only his best friend, Shiva takes him seriously. History: ~in the plot~ Other: He is the runt of his two siblings and had the color pigment in his fur caused it to be much lighter than his siblings. The pigment also has effected his eyes. Appearance:  Name: Shiva Age: 1 1/2 Gender: Female Group: Pound Dog Breed: Mutt Personality: Shiva is the kind, nurturing type - always the one to take others under her wing. When the three siblings come to the pound, she meets Romeo and they become instant friends - showing her sympathetic and gentle nature. History: Shiva was born too soon after her mother was hit by a car. The vet couldn't save her mother from dieing but saved Shiva along with her brother who was born with only three legs. Together, they were adopted by a little girl named Lily, a sweet girl who loved both of her dogs more than anything. Lily bottle fed the two puppies, since their mother could not, and without the natural nutrients that she could no provide, Shiva's brother died. Lily and Shiva grew closer due to the loss of their beloved and soon the two were inseparable. One day, Shiva was roaming the backyard of Lily's house and saw that the gate was open. Wanting to know what the outside world was like, she ran out the gate and decided to explore. But when she wanted to go home, she couldn't remember where the house was and roamed the streets for days, howling for Lily. The dog catcher found Shiva on the side of the road, starving, and took her to the pound. Other: N/A Appearance:

Aw, thanks, Polar. I really appreciate the comlpliment. You're accepted, of course. Also, I love Shiva's pic 'cause I used to use that pic for a dog character in every dog roleplay I joined! Brings back memories lol. I always just listed her breed as Mutt since she doesn't look like an exact breed of dog.

Oh wow, I absolutely love this Roleplay <33 But then again, all the RPs you create are fantastic, Rose. ^^ Name: Shade Age: 1 1/2 Gender: Male Group: Siblings Breed: Collie/Lab Mix Personality: Shade, like his name may suggest, is a very mysterious canine. It's extremely difficult to gain his trust and nearly impossible to figure what he's thinking about. He's not a shy type at all - in fact it's rather easy for him to speak out. However, he prefers to go by the term 'The less you know the better' when it comes to other dogs, for he knows much more than he should. Staying quiet has it's advantages, and from his past experiences, he's been able to pick up bits and parts of information which he pieces together with ease. He has a growing sense of intelligence, and often gives off the air of being both evasive and wise. He gets along with other dogs, however if you've never met him before you may see him as cold and uncomfortable. He will proudly stand by his family and trusted friends, defending them with his life if need be. History: In Plot. Other: N/A Appearence: Name: Banshee Age: 2 Years Gender: Male Group: Pound Dog Breed: German Shepherd Mix Personality: Banshee is a very nervous dog. He wants to maintain his pride, but always ends up dissapointing himself by running away from things. The few times he has been brave, he learned to regret it later on. He's never sure of the right thing to say or what to do next, but the one thing he does have going for him is his friendly outlook on life. He prefers to be gentle, granting him the opportunity to seek friendship easily. And although he has teeth and claws sizeable enough to scare off a pending fight, there's a rare chance he would ever use them. He's extremely successful at acting the part if he feels threatened enough, and if a situation gets desperate, more than likely he'll turn tail and run. It takes a lot for him to stand up for himself. Though, he'd always stand up for others before considering himself apart of the equation. History: Banshee was born in the household of a hoarder. He was never the dog that someone wanted to cuddle with and love. He was just apart of the crowd. Though, with plenty of other dogs around, it gave him a chance to grow in a social environment. He became a friendly and playful thing. However, when the old woman who owned the house was busted by the feds, all of the dogs, including Banshee, were taken away and sent to different homes. Banshee's new home was fairly decent for the most part. He was fed, he was loved, and for the first time, he felt like he had a real family. Though, his owner had to suddenly move away after receiving an illness caused by the smoke and air of the city. Where his master was going, animals weren't allowed. And so, he was given to a friend to be taken care of. His old owner believed this man was suitable - that he would take extremely good care of the Shepherd mix. However, he was devastatingly wrong. This new person, Banshee soon discovered, was a terrible alcoholic. Everyday he would come home from the bar and beat Banshee until he was groveling on the ground choked with injuries that did nothing but ail him. It came to a point where the unlucky dog couldn't even walk due to two broken hind legs. Without proper medical care, his conditions grew worse. It took months for his legs to heal, and when they did, Banshee did the most sensible thing he knew: he ran away. He had been scrounging for food ever since, making due with what he could. He still bares terrible mental scars from his awful past, but he was thankful just to be away from people in general. It wasn't long before he was discovered by the dog catcher and brought to the pound; a place that reminded him of his birth home. It was full of suffering dogs. But he was still glad to be away from his previous and final owner. Other: N/A Appearence:

Nice! I want to join too! I could take on 3 characters and place them on different groups, should I post their bios now or later on when they are needed? Anyway I'll post one and whenever you need the others i'll post them too. Another thing...I have been off the site for a long long time, would you like me to write a roleplay example? Name: Ace Age: 2 yrs Gender: Male Group: Pound dog Breed: German Shepherd Personality: Friendly and very carefree, he won't fight uness he has no other option but still likes to spare from time to time with other dogs. He's a really chilled dog who's always willing and looking to make new friends and meet new faces every day and can be seen playing around like a pup sometimes. And although he hates living in the streets, he knows he has to make the best of it or he won't make it alone. He is known around the city for stealing food from fancy restaurants. He likes to stare at the stars and imagine what lies beyond the city streets, but is afraid to wander too far from what he's used to call home. History: Unkown. Doesn't like to talk about it. Only thing known about him is that he's been caught and escaped from the pound several times. Other:Has a small scar on his rear legs from an encounter with the dog catcher Appearence:

Nobu - You can add the other two characters now or later. It doesn't matter to me. If you have a character in mind, I would suggest getting him/her a bio know so you don't forgot it when he/she is needed. I speak from experience. XD Also, I don't think you need an example. I remember you being a great roleplayer when I roleplayed with you before. S'long as your style hasn't completely changed for the worse, I know you will add to this story. BTW, you're accepted! Moki -  Stop, your making me blush! ^^

He isn't aggressive as long as you stay out of his yard. Since age has slowed him down, he will use his heavy weight when fighting rather than other skills. He's a good friend to have by your side and likes to remember his golden age as a young guardian dog. History: Beacon used to be one of the best guardian dogs in town, he had an almost perfect mix of strength, speed, and agility. For all of his life he's been taking care of his only owner Tom. But now Beacon has grown and all of his past glories have been left behind in time, most of them forgotten by other dogs who knew Beacon. He has lived his entire life in the same town, in the same house, always by Tom's side. He's seen many dogs come and go and has gone on great adventures with Tom, making countless friends and foes along the way. But now, with Beacon much older. Tom has opted for a quiet, easy life and now has many safety devices, leaving Beacon's guarding abilities very outdated. Other: He has a wolf's teeth attached to his collar from a wolf he fought and beat to save Tom a long time ago. He is a very skilled fighter but he prefers to be peaceful. He hates all humans because they've been chasing his pack ever since he was born. He has seen many friends hunted and killed. Ooh I am loving this idea! 8D I'm joining! Name: Sable Age: 3 yrs. Gender: Female Group: Pound Dog Breed: Golden Retriever Personality: Her personality derives from her breed name. Sable has a 'golden' attitude and is always looking on the bright side of life. She tries to keep optimistic and hopes to influence others to feel more happier. Though she did not have a pleasant experience with humans, she still loves them very much. She honestly cannot hate anyone because she finds it so hard to even be mad at someone. History: Sable was bred and given to a woman who wanted a purebred Golden Retriever to use in show. Though Sable excelled at the local shows, when it came to the tougher competition of national dog shows, she did very poorly. Her short-lived career was stopped then and there, and the woman dropped her off in the pound, as she didn't want a dog who couldn't perform, or rather a dog who embarrassed her in front of an entire audience. Though she was left behind, Sable doesn't really have hard feelings towards her owner. She originally wanted to sit and wait for a new human to come along, but once she is told the story of a paradise, Sable decides to go with them. Other: N/A Appearence:

Breed: Finnish spitz/corgi mix
Personality: Street-smart and a born leader. However Kendra often lets her emotions get the better of her. Sometimes she does things on impulse, even though she doesn't mean to. She is fiery-tempered, but tries to keep her cool when it's needed. She absolutely positively loves food, and never seems to be full. However, she does have the strength to work it off, but she lacks speed because of her short legs.
History: Kendra has always been a street dog, and has never known life otherwise. She tries to partner up with other dogs for 'safety in numbers' but it has never worked out. She knows of Beacon and tries to stick around by him (if this is okay with Nobu-Balto!)
Other: Has a notched left ear

Name: Ignis Age: 5 yrs. Gender: Female Group: Pound dog Breed: Pug/Beagle mix Personality: Temperamental and unique, Ignis is optimistic and fiery. She is active, stubborn and intelligent in her own way. She loves having fun, but does so in a rather sophisticated way. Ignis loves having her way with things and may get a little bitter if her expectations are not met. She is highly intelligent, but instead of following "those silly commands", she uses her intelligence when it comes to bribing people to get food. Or how to open things. The mutt is curious and likes to know what's going on, which may sometimes mean spying or gossip. She doesn't mind. She is also arrogant, yet friendly. She has a witty sense of humour and sometimes she sounds a little mean. History: Her history is simple - she was adopted by a lonely man David. He found a girlfriend who was extremely mean to Ignis and she convinced her boyfriend to abandon that dog. Her owner, without thinking too much about the dog, left Ignis in the streets. She was quick to fall into the hands of dog catchers, and as much as she resisted, she was brought to the pound. He is patient when it comes to meeting dogs who are more reserved or aggressive, and he won't just try to get in their personal space. Chase hates any kind of disagreements and tries to play as the peace maker everytime an argument happens. He is rather protective of his friends as well and tries to stick with them wherever they go, which can be sort of annoying sometimes. Time to start! We will begin when the siblings are first put into the kennel. Also, font colors are optional. I won't be using them myself, but I know some people prefer to use them so I will allow the use of them.
Bic:// Sadie whimpered as the dog catcher roughly fling her into the cement kennel, slamming the iron fence door shut before she even had time to picked herself up off the ground. Still in shock from being caught in the first place, she quickly glanced around at her kennel. There were five things total inside the fencing. The first two things Sadie noticed were a matching set of dog bowls containing what smelt like stail kibble and lukewarm water. The third appeared to be a bed, though the stuffing leaked from hundreds of tears. The fourth resembled a dog toy, some type of tennis ball/tug rope, but dirt and grim covered it. The last thing inside the kennel was Sadie herself.
Taking in everything besdie her, Sadie ventured to looking to her right and left which gave sight to other kennels all set up the same as hers. In front of her was another line of kennels. And inside every one of those areas sat a dog. Sadie fought over the urge to talk to each of these new canines or to curl up inside the sad excuse for a bed. Finally, she called out for her brothers in a soft whisper. "Romeo? Shade?" Even as she squinted at the dogs she could see, they all looked like shadows in the dim light and her eyes were only beginning to adjust. But she could just make out the light yellow color of a golden retriever to her left.
Jackson's ears perked up at the familiar sound of another dog arriving. He sat up and scootched closer to the door, hearing the sound repeat itself twice before the room silenced with the click of a lock. "That's odd," he muttered to himself, referring to three dog arriving here at once. Usually they came alone. "Looks like we've got company," he announced to his two neighbors, Ace and Ignis. "And their just in time for our outside hour." This small break from the stench and heat of the kennels seemed far too short to all its residence, but it was a break none the less. Soon, the human would be in to release the dogs to the tiny field behind the shelter where the dogs were supposed to run out all their energy so they would be quiet when they came back inside. This plan hardly ever worked, but the humans still tried every day.
