Mutated

It all seemed to be a good sunny Wendsday afternoon at Goodman High, it was 5th Period and there was a large class of kids in the gym. After completing their required assingment for the day, some the kids ran over to the vending machine in the western corner of the gym and put in 50 cents for a bottle of water. After hearing the plastic container drop to the slot below, 16 year-old José Marcinello quickly picked up the last bottle of water and headed to the bleachers to retrive his cloths so he could get dressed for his next class. José threw his pants and shirt over his shoulder, and as he headed for the boy's locker room, he opened the water bottle and took a swish of the cool, crisp liquid. He took another sip, then another...

When he got home that night, José wasn't feeling his best, so he quickly finished half of his homework and headed to bed. The next morning, José woke up on the floor. Immidatly realizing something wrong, the teenager quickly scrambled to his feet, but soon found it hard to stand on two legs. José crashed down and, groaning, clawed his way to his dresser with the mirror. He lugged himself onto the dressertop and looked into the mirror. Seeing that the image staring back at him wasn't his own relfection, but one of an almost 300 lb Liger hybrid, José screamed his head off and threw himself out of his second story window. Without thinking twice, José ran all the way to Main Street and hid himself in an alleyway, but there was a small Tasmanian Tiger crouching low ontop of a trascan lid. The Tiger recognized José's voice from her Biology class, and started explaing that she, too, had drunk the purified bottled water from a vending machine in the cafeateria. The Tiger, Opal, said that if José concentrated on being human again, he would change back, cloths and all.

After the two half animals regained their human forms, they ran into six more half animals who had also drank the contaminated water. They all knew that there had to be an antidote to change them back to humans for good, but the eight teens also knew that there was a large chance that the antidote wasn't in their city; so they all set off from San Francisco to find the cure. Little did they know that there was also somebody else who wanted them like they were; dead or alive...

RULES:
-First of all, this RP requries six more mutants, a couple of Catchers, and some good humans who help the gang hid from the Catchers-
-You can have up to 4 characters; but don't forget that we need Catchers and Good Humans, too
-Be kind to everyone and considerate of each others' feelings
-NO aruging, being mean, cursing ("crap" is acceptabe), "stealing" someone else's character, info, ect.
-Submit you own character(s); nobody else's
-Control you own character(s), and ask permission before you decide to have your character crush on somebody else's or before you move a character that's not yours; etc., etc.
-Lovey-dubby stuff is A-OK; just nothing X-rated. A simple hug/ light kiss is fine

*** Catchers are scientist who work together to capture the Mutants and experiment on them to see how their radioactive water experiment effected the teens; they originally spied on the eight teenagers and made sure that the radioactive water got into their systems. Some of the scientists' main purpose for experimenting on the Mutants is solely for scientific reasons; while others' want to profit the teens for high amounts of money, and some of the catchers even experimented on their own children
"Good Humans" are people who help hid the Mutants from Catchers, they may be allowed to travel with the gang.***

Personality: He's the 'tall-silent-and handsome type. José perfers to hang with a group of people than just one or two, he can be a bit rough with girls sometimes because he was a football and hocky player.
Scars/Tattos: José has two scars on his left shin, in injury from a football game and one right under his left eye
History: José was born into a family of 3 in San Francisco, California. He was the youngest and had two sisters as siblings and a septbrother who was 4 years older than him. When José was in the 8th grade, he joined the football team and had afterschool hocky practice. One day when José was walking home from school by himself, he was attacked by a dog. The dog, a rottwiler, mangled his right leg and seriously injured José's left hand and wrist to the point were he couldn't move his fingures on his right hand and had to get surgury on his left leg. The doctors were able to save his wrist and 3 toes on his left foot. But that didn't stop José from going back and playing football and hocky. At the beginging of the eleventh grade, José was one of the eight highschoolers to drink a bottle of radioactive water that had somehow gotten into the school's vending machine. He now travels with the other six, searching, but he believes in vain, to find the cure for their mutations.

History: Opal grew up in an Aboriginal village in the outback of Australia. She and her family were good until her father found a higher paying job in the United States and they moved to New York. Opal never ajusted to city life and was always having near death experiences with the traffic. She was homed-schooled up until her seventh grade year, her mother teaching her mostly about her people's history, then she was enrolled into a regualr high school. During the beggining of her ninth grade year, Opal's family moved to San Franscico,California. At the neighborhood high school, Opal made few friends, but she liked them just fine. She was just beggining to get confortable at the school when a shipment of so-called purified water was put into the school's vending machines, Opal drank it, but the water didn't help her become healthier; insted, it turned her into a half human half animal teen who could change into her animal form at will, along with the other six who drank the water.

Personality: Ariel is very cold hearted yet cunning, she hates children of any ages unless they can learn fast and comprehend whatever she says. Ariel has a very fiery and sometimes unstable personality; when she's angered (and its very easy to do this) she will lash out at whoever angered her and sometimes at who's standing around. Ariel is quick to kill harmless things, like animals, which is why the gang should avoid her at all costs.

History: Ariel grew up in New York, New York and she was a very mean child throughout her wole life. When she graduated from highschool, insted of going straight to college, Ariel joined that particular group of scientists who were experimenting on humans. Ariel also took part in the experiment of creating the radioactive water and helped make sure that the water got into eight teenaged kids. Later on, she and all the other scientists found out about the kids ecsaping, Ariel readily volenteered to help capture them. But there was one problem, the head scientist wanted the Mutants alive, Ariel wanted them dead.

Marie isn't very trusting nor is she emotional, but she does get attached to people. Sometimes, the best way to know if she cares is how badly she treats you.

History: Marie is originally from Ireland, though she spent most of her pre-teen and early teen years in an English Academy. Although her parents moved to the city for better jobs and the hope that England would tame their wild daughter, things went the opposite. No job payed well enough and Marie grew even more rebellious. Finally, the family saved enoigh to move to sunny California and Marie has attended all her high school years at Goodman.

Personality: Nessa is very fun-loving and flirty, though very vain. She can be rebellious and is sometimes a tease, but she had made her way into the popular crowd. She is on the cheerleading squad with Leah and most would say she had the most potential for making captain next year when she's a senior. Although they are a year apart, Nessa does all she can to be Leah's main comeptition, especailly when it comes to guys. (if this is alright with BlackWolf). Even though Nessa wears the make-up and curls her hair, she isn't just a pretty girl, and everyone knows it. She is loud and obnoxious and brutally honest. She is in many sports and is already the tennis team caption and the star in track. She never puts on a fake face around adults and they all also know exactly what she likes. She may have quite a reputation at school for not always breaking up with a boyfriend before moving on to another, but most people at school don't hate her since she is nice to someone as long as they are nice to her.

History: Nessa hasn't always been on top of the socail ladder. When she was in gradeschool, she hung around all the guys and played their rough sports and joined into their gross jokes. It was only when she was thirteen that one girl pointed out how much Nessa acted like a guy. That was when she started questioning if she wanted to be all the guys best friend or the girl that every guy wanted. Nessa decided on the latter.

When she entered high school, she skipped signing up for any sports and tried out for the cheerleading team. She was amazingly good at it, probably because she had done sports all her life and was very athletic. At first, she tried to be like the upper classmen, but as she grew up, she realized how fake a lot of them were. Nessa then changed her goal to being nothing like them and signed up for other sports she liked. At first, the other cheerleaders kind of made fun of her for it, but she eventually shook them off. Now, most of the underclassmen look up to her.

Personality: James isn't the funny type. He's very seriouse and straight forward. He's very head-strong and smart. He's witty and he is very strong, and good with knives. He hates it when people don't respect him, and treat him like dirt. He can be greedy at times but not often. Once in a while he'll play a good prank or two, but most of the time he's very straight forward.
Scars/Tattos: He has a scar on his arm, from a knife
History: James grew up as a poor kid, and his parents had lttle to no money no matter how many jobs they worked. His mother grew ill and died when he was five, and he had to live with his Father. His Father was always working, so, he had to learn things on his own. He learned to fight from watching a gang, which got into fights with other gangs a lot. He also learned math and things from his neighbor, who was a retired school teacher.

She is normally cheerful and pleasant, and will let most things roll off of her, but she does have a temper if provoked enough, and will hold a grudge for a long period of time if she feels its necessary.

History: Her father left her mother soon after they found out they were going to be parents. Thinking he left all because of her child, she wanted an abortion, but eventually decided against it. Instead she gave her daughter up for adoption. When Maya was two she was adopted into the Callagher family, who had three boys already.

José glanced up at the clock mounted on the wall over his teacher's desk as his biology teacher dragged on about photosynthesis. Ten more minutes till this is over, he thought.

Personality: Luke is the type of guy everyone likes. He is a happy kind of person, loves to joke around with his friends. He can be sarcastic when needed or joking, and is good-looking. He is very humerous (funny) and a great driver. He is athletic (Soccer & Basketball, he likes football but refuses to play) and loves to sing (He is in the school choir-club). He's popular, but doesnt care about his 'image', he just wants to be himself. He is a suprisingly good fighter, and is very light and quick on his feet. He is smart, but not geeky, (He makes straight A's) and takes a class at home about guns. He is also very artistic, and able to draw or paint many things well. He takes art classes during the summer, but his talent is all natural.

He went to a private all-boys school in brooklyn until he was 15, then transfered to Goodman.

Personality: Quiet, untrusting of almost everyone, even though he tries his best to talk to others and make a friend. He's incredibly observant, and braver than you'd often make him out to be. He often keeps his thoughts to himself, and his past is not something he considers an open subject. He's extremely protective of the few he does choose to trust, and will defend his secrets and those in danger with his entire life at stake.
Scars/Tattoos: One scar lays across his chest; two more are marked on his back. They look ragged and recent, even though they were made years ago. They are red in color, and have stayed that way ever since he received them. Over time they've brightened in color, however it's obvious they will never fully heal and they will never cover up on their own.
History:

John Mason was born into an average family. He had a mother, a father, and an older brother. He seemed to enjoy the aspect of life in general and was a fairly happy kid. His neighborhood had never been marked as dangerous, and so, no one around ever felt the need to be cautious. However, this was their greatest mistake. By believing their home was safe, John's parents had neglected to protect their sons correctly. One night, a man proved their error.

It was midnight. The entire family was asleep and having dreams. John was about 11 at the time. He awoke first, hearing a quiet bang downstairs. Creeping down the steps, he tried to listen for more sounds. Then he heard rummaging in the kitchen. Pots and pans were clattering noisily onto the floor, and John had a sudden and deep feeling of fear creep into his system. By this time, his brother had groggily awoken, but dismissed the sounds and fell back asleep. His parents, on the other side of the house, were too far away to hear anything going on here.

Still, John continued forward. He pressed on into the kitchen until he saw a dark shape somewhere near the stove. When he flipped on the light, however, he gasped. He couldn't stop himself, and the intruder snapped his head in the boy's direction. Knowing his mistake, John tried to back away. Though, the intruder had other plans. Grabbing a kitchen knife, he hustled to the trembling boy. He picked John up by the shoulders and carried him to a nearby chair. Finding wire somewhere nearby, he tied John as tightly as he could to the chair, making sure he couldn't move.

John attempted to get out, but he couldn't break free. The wire was too strong, and his body was too feeble to break away from it. In a desperate attempt to get help, he tried to move the chair and reach the phone just on the counter. However, the strange man came back inside and slammed the chair back against the wall, making sure John was away from any help available to him. Holding the knife to the boy's throat, he slit it ever so gently. It was enough to cause John's first mental scar, and caused a massive amount of bleeding even though the cut had been minor.

The man banged against the walls, in a mad attempt to wake up the rest of the family. John's brother awoke with a start, then, and quickly noticing his brother's absence, hurried to his parent's bedroom and pushed them awake. They all three ran down the stairs in a worried frenzy, fearing for what might be happening. When they finally got to the entrance of the kitchen, they all gasped at the horror. Blood flowed all over the neck line of John's shirt, and he was still bleeding profusely. His breathing was severed and he was forced to struggle for each breath.

John's brother sneaked away from the situation unnoticed. He ran as fast as his feet could carry him to where he knew there was another phone line. And as the intruder became even more hostile back in the kitchen, John's brother dialed 911 in a panic. The intruder had just begun to demand for the family's money, their valuable possessions. John's mother was in tears. His father was trying his best to calm her down and stay strong. He stepped forward and said, "No. Now give us back our son!" His demand didn't go unpunished.

The man slashed against the boy's chest. Strapped in and unable to move, John received the full force of the knife. The man commanded his parents to give him the money once more, and his father continued to step forward cautiously in order to get to John and free him. The man noticed this, however, and grabbed the father's shoulders, killing him in a gruesome scene. John's mother broke down after that, screaming and sobbing and begging for the killer to stop. He replied in an uncaring and harsh tone that he'd stop once she showed him where the money and valuables were.

His mother stayed with the tears still running, frozen in fear and shock. She didn't know what she should do. John's brother had sneaked back to see if his family was okay and had to hold everything in his power not to gasp. Though neither of them moved, and so, the killer turned towards John once again and turned the chair over. He cut the wires off of the chair but they were still entangled all over John. And so, he still couldn't move. The killer then reached for him, and John tried to inch away, scared to death by now, and cried out in agony as another slash came straight into his back. And another right below it, as he tried still to move away.

He curled up into a ball after that, crying and in terrible pain. Just as John's mother unfroze and moved in a haste to grab the money, the police arrived, arresting the killer and taking John into an ambulance. After that tragedy, the family wanted to start fresh. By the time John was 12, they had moved into an entirely different neighborhood and always took precautions, even if it was unnecessary. Both John and his brother were enrolled into new schools, and John's new nickname became 'Slash' overtime due to his graphic scars. John was never the same after that.

Once into high school, he attempted to make more friends. But his life was soon to come into turmoil, as yet another problem would cause his world to turn upside down. Mutation.

Personality: Seth is definitely not the type to give up, whether it be for himself or for someone else. He used to take things to heart often, but all the hurt has made him stronger over time. Because of his family members and the fact that no one truly accepted him back at home, he used to be quiet and unwilling to talk to anyone at all. Now that he's been on his own, however, he's learned that it was never his fault. He began to embrace his true nature, and became a friendly, helpful person overtime: more like the way he was before he grew older. He's overjoyed to meet anyone who takes him seriously, and becomes quiet the social butterfly if given a chance.

History:

Seth was never normal. At least to his parents. He grew up in a town that was nothing more than skeptical of anything that didn't seem natural. All of their uniformed ways bored Seth. Even as a little kid, he loved to learn about stories and fantasy and things that everyone told him weren't real. He always believed that something had to be out there. He wanted to trust and to know that some kind of thing existed out of the world in this town. Otherwise, life was a waste to him. What was the point of living if everyday you woke up there was nothing to live for?

As he grew older, Seth became more involved in things such as the supernatural and odd occurrences in various cities. His parents shrugged off these activities, warning him that he should do something 'worthy of his time'. They believed that what he was doing wasn't right. It was something only a freak would do. And so each time they caught him doing something they didn't approve of, he was downgraded and forced to hear a speech about what was real and what didn't exist.

This made his hobbies turn to obsessions. Everyday when he came home, Seth would look for more stories and more research. Papers in school turned to jokes in front of the class as he read aloud the beliefs he so thought were real. His classmates would merely snort in their seats and point with bursting laughter. This caused a real problem to arise in Seth's overall self esteem. He began to believe that maybe he really was a freak. Perhaps people lived for the sole purpose of living. Maybe there really wasn't anything there.

However, one morning he woke up from a long night's worth of dreams. It was Monday, a school day of course. Seth shook his head. He pretended to go to school. Before he left, he dumped all of his books and pencils onto his bed, rummaging through all of his stuff in order to find things he would need. He grabbed several pairs of jeans, shorts, and shirts, and some other clothing items he may have needed in the future, went downstairs and sneaked a month's worth of food in ziplocks, stuffed everything in his backpack, and called out to his parents that he would be going.

He never went to school that day. He took off. Being 15, he already had a permit and a car to match. And although the law was that he had to have a licensed driver to accompany him, he broke it. Getting into his car, he sped off in the opposite direction of town, finally landing in a new place. He managed to find a job working at a grocery store, and was always careful to see if anyone was watching while he got into his car alone.

After some time, Seth managed to get a cheap apartment, using some of the money he had earned from his job. He's been living alone every since. And although it's not a preferred life style for most, Seth finds that being understood and living alone is always a hundred times better than being made fun of and surrounded by those who look down on you. He's entered school again by now and seems to be enjoying it so far.

Personality: Jane is nice enough to everyday people, but when you give her a job to do she makes sure it gets done. She tends to be more sympathetic than is needed when it comes to her line of work, however she tends to push herself to the limit a bit too often. Overall, she'd finish a job despite her feelings, but that also means she may hesitate at any given moment.
Scars/Tattoos: She has a tattoo on her upper back just below the shoulder line. It portrays a single paw print.
History:

Jane was never great with animals, however she was fond of them as a child. Whenever she would get a new dog, cat, or other pet, she would turn overjoyed with a fond eye and a happy smile. A few of the animals never returned the kindness however, and she received multiple scratch wounds and bite marks. They always healed overtime, however the mental scars remained.

As Jane grew older, she began to lose most of her trust in animals, however she still loved them dearly. She became a very rebellious teenager after an instance where her parents punished her just because she received a B on one of her tests instead of her usual A. She grew angry at her parents and when she turned 18, she skipped out and left for college. Just before she left, however, she went and got a tattoo on her back right at the shoulder line. She did this, of course, to show her parents and make them realize they couldn't control her anymore. And right before they were about to burst into a frenzy towards her, she walked out of the door with a suitcase in tow, never to come back to her original home.

Jane loved college. She had been studying to be a doctor and so far everything seemed to be working out great. She continued with her good grades and now that her parents had no real say in her life any longer, she felt freed and happier than ever. Jane actually became one of the top students in class. All of her professors had faith that she would become a great medical engineer someday.

An organization saw her potential too, though, and pulled her out of medical school in exchange for a job. She decided the pay was worth it and so, began her work hunting the weird, strange, and freaky mutations and oddities of cities and towns across the country. It was a pretty stressing job at first, considering that Jane had never thought anything of the supernatural until now. Overtime, however, she began to learn more and more and become much more experienced in the area.
