Born into her own pack as a high ranking member's daughter, Carlyn had everything she wanted. But confinement to pack grounds isn't what she considers a good time, so when she gets the chance, she slinks off into unknown territory, she comes into contact with Cress, a male her age with sly attitude and a charming demeanor. The two begin to meet secretly, of course they're of different packs and shouldn't even be talking to one another. But the two find themselves becoming closer and closer. And before long, Carlyn finds Cress asking her to be his mate. But despite how good things look for the two, nothing good lasts for long.

The crisp winter air blew gently through the forest. A slender blonde wolf crept through the snow quietly, taking an adventure through his pack's territory. He perked his ears, listening to all the sounds around him, the birds especially. He sunk ever so slightly in the newly fallen snow and fond himself having to trudge along at some of the deeper parts; but never the less he continued on, excited to be out of his large pack's eyes.

The short young female crept carefully through the heavily wooded area, the snow crunching beneath her paws. Her ears perked with every sound, she knew she shouldn't be this far away from her pack, but she figured there was more to life than the same figures, same alphas, same familiar faces she remembers from playing with her two brothers as a pup. She decided she would never find a mate staying so concealed in her pack alone. She silently shook her head and sighed.

Hearing the crunching sound of the snow the male froze, the fur along his spine bristled. He growled slightly and lowered himself into the snow, pinning his ears against his head, trying to stay hidden from whoever was approaching. He hoped to get a strong upper hand on whoever they were.

Carlyn was so lost in her thoughts, she stumbled into the open clearing. She stood and shook her fur out, then looked around, ears perked.

Jumping to his feet, Cress perked his ears forward, looking directly at the female.
"..Who are you?" he asked with simple authority.

Carlyn jumped and stared at the male, wide-eyed.
"I..uhm...I'm.." She tripped over her own words as she stared at him. "I'm.."

Cress held his head high, eying the female.
"..In the wrong territory for starters," Cress continued for her. "But...That's okay. No one's around to see." Cress smirked slightly. "Name's Cress....And your name is...?"

"I'm..." she blurted quickly, staring at him. "Carlyn..I..think.." she blushed and looked down.

"You think?" he chuckled. "Well..Carlyn's a pretty name.." then Cress grinned widely. "For a pretty girl."

Carlyn sat down, shuffling her paws, looking down. She didn't want him to see she blushed.
"Th...thanks.." she giggled and flicked her tail.

Cress sat down the snow. "So..What are you doin' out here..? Im mean..You're a bit out of your territory...huh?"

Carlyn looked up at him.
"Uh...I'm..sorry..I was just..walking...and..I forgot about..everything," she folded her ears back.

"Hey...It's okay and all...I just don't want the scouts to see you," Cress said with a smile. "They get kinda mean and you're too nice to be mean to..."

She smiled and stood.
"I guess I'll get...out of your way?" she sighed quietly and stepped back.
