Just to point out there, Animation Source is a family website right? Meaning child-friendly material and topics of conversation are allowed, and teenage/adult topics of conversation are fought against.
These topics consist of gay/homosexual topics, topics discussing religion, and topics discussing politics.
One could argue that these are allowed to be talked about as long as those participating are mature and not easily offended. But since that can't be guaranteed considering how much of this website is consisted of children, they have been disallowed altogether. They are seen as "sensitive" or "mature" topics of conversation, that don't belong on these websites because they are intended for children.
One could also argue that it's not seen as "taboo" like some other topics are. But couldn't one also make the same argument for everything else?
In that case, what about teen pregnancy?
Not just teen pregnancy, simply because there are SO many situations as to why it would happen. Some fortunate, some unfortunate. But the teen pregnancy topic in the sense that it's being exploited, or talked about like it's some kind of heroic deed.
Shouldn't that be disallowed as well? A teenager, talking about being pregnant at a young age to impressionable children, and making it a positive thing?
I'm not saying pregnancy is bad, even unplanned pregnancy is fine, because giving birth is a wonderful thing.
But taking away the topic of "love" and "making love" and "excited about being a parent" and anything else, like accidents, rape, consenting ADULTS, and just full on irresponsibility. It is a most inappropriate thing for teenagers (exhibitionists especially) to be talking about on the forums and on the shoutbox alike, like it's an exceptionally acceptable act.
In a nutshell, bottom line, I'm seeing children on this site exploiting being pregnant and it's not something that should be allowed on a website intended for kids and family, and there should be a rule against it.
Am I right or am I right?

I agree with this, but with our current webmasters it could take a long time before they even see this.

I agree as well. If you see such conversations, you can always ask for them to stop and explain it so they know better. It would have to do until Steet is informed.

I appreciate everyone's comments for this rule. It should be put into place, but considering how FEW people are responding, it would seem as tho this is either not as important as say SMS or double-posts, which is sad. But also considering that every comment thus far has been against teen pregnancy exploiting, I think it should be put into the rules straight away. No sense in waiting for people who DON'T work on the sites to make a decision.

What is meant by "gay" topics? How are they any different from hetro topics?

Thats the thing, one time most of the mods did come to an agreement about homosexual topics, but steet pretty much said, "I didn't approve of it, so its not true." (Even though he wanted us to all come to an agreement) so we pretty much have to wait until Steet or Grey does something, especially about new rules.

What is meant by "gay" topics? How are they any different from hetro topics? Nothing's wrong with "gay" topics. I actually would love if they were accepted on these sources, but they're not.
