I wish they could've kept the line because it has Nuka's character shine through. All he ever wanted was his mother's attention. But I can understand why they didn't include it. They were afraid that kids would be influenced by this idea in order to gain their parents' attentions.

That would have been so epic if they put that in there, but they didn't. :[

I know, right? It would've made it more powerful. When I was young an saw Nuka die, I really could care less, but when I saw the deleted scene, my mom and I almost cried.

When I saw the deleted scene I looked to my mom and said, "Yeah, think about that."

True, I can understand that but, Nuka's death was an accident. Many children enjoy their lives and families, doubtful they would try killing themselves for attention.

Well young kids don't really have a lot of sense. What they see on tv, they think happens in real life. So they would think 'okay if I did what this character did, my parents will give me attention'. They would want to mimic what happens on tv. I can't speak for most of them, but I think that this would be what the animators would've thought of, otherwise they would've included Nuka's extended scene in the movie.

I saw an extra when Nuka said a few extra words when he was under the dam.

^ ...please stop with the 'durr's. It's just rude.

I think it's a good thing they left it out... it leaves to much to question about Zira after words, and could've changed her in a way that might've changed the story.

Although granted it fits and would've made the scene WAY more depressing. I just don't know if it's appropriate for little kids.
Like DakotaWereWolf said, it might've given them the wrong idea.

^ That's understandable, but sarcasm can't be read so easily. Just be careful how you word things is all.

I think I would have liked that part to stay in the movie. It would have made the scene more powerful. It was the only time through the whole movie we saw Zira care for someone other than herself, but it had come to late.

The scene really made me like Nuka's character more as well. I felt sorry for him. All he wanted was for his mother to finally notice her son; to get her love and approval from her. If I remember correctly, as he climbs the logs trying to get to Simba, he says something about "I'll do it for you, Mother! And I'll do it for myself."

I guess I can kind of see why the cut it, but I still would have rather seen it in the film. It really was a wonderful [and sad] scene.

i too wish they had kept the line. But think- if they had, then Zira's character would have needed a rather large change. That type of line from your eldest would normally make you extremely protective and worried over your others cubs. You certainly would not threaten to kill one or slash one to create a permanent scar. You would probably never send your cub into battle either, because that would have really shaken you to the core.
