Well, I wanted to put this in the Fanfic Section, but since the main thing is a song, it just didn't seem to fit.
Anyway, this song has been playing over and over in my head (and on my CD-player!) and since some of us are waiting for Juchann17's continuation of Longing...*ahem* I thought up a music video thing to go with a short summary of Longing in a theatrical trailer. (That is if Longing had been a movie... Um....)
[Dark scene fades in to Saba sleeping in a basket in some small shed in Nome](Saba wakes up and seems lost in thought)
Ain't it just like one of us, to pick up the phone and call after a couple drinks (She rolls over and closes her eyes)
And say how you been I've been wonderin' if maybe you've been thinkin' 'bout me, (She opens her eyes again)
Then somewhere in the conversation,
An old familiar invitation always arrives (She stands up and leaves the shed) [Fade out]
And I may hate myself in the morning, [Fade in] (Saba is standing in the boiler room and turns to see Dingo)
But I'm gonna love you tonight. (They walk out together)
Everyone's known someone that they just can't help but want
And even though we just can't make it work out well the want to lingers on, (They arrive at the barn and nuzzle each other. Saba holds the door open for Dingo)
So once again we wind up in each others arms pretending that it's right, (Saba watches Dingo enter the barn, and follows him.)
I may hate myself in the morning, but I'm gonna love you tonight.
[Flashback to imaginary earlier time when they are confessing their love to each other.] (Saba is in tears, but smiling, as is Dingo.]
I know it's wrong, but it ain't easy movin' on, (They nuzzle)
So why can't two friends, remember the good times once again?
[Further flashback to another imaginary time when they are both pups] (Young Saba and Dingo are playing together in a field near Nome, laughing and pouncing on each other) [Flashback ends with their noses touching]
[Fade in to Saba and Dingo in the barn] (They are laying side by side, both seemingly deep in thought. Saba glances at Dingo)
Tomorrow when I wake up I'll be feelin' a little guilty, a little sad,
Thinkin' how it used to be before everything went bad,
And I guess that's what it is in lonely late-night calls like this that we try to find, (They meet each other's gaze and kiss)
I may hate myself in the morning, but I'm gonna love you tonight, (Dingo is looking down at Saba. They both say the last line together)
Yeah I may hate myself in the morning, but I'm gonna love you tonight. (Ends with Saba drawing Dingo down into a kiss) [Fade out]
Okay, now I feel stupid...
Oh well, enjoy anyway.
