I never really liked the way the awards were done so I'd thought I'd just suggest this way to see how everyone else thought of it.

For awards like fanarts, fanimages, ect, awards of those natures instead of having people vote their fave artist, why not have people who want to try out for the award submit a work on the topic, and people vote for the best work? And at the end of the awards the artists are revealed.

This is just a suggestion, I don't expect this to be adapted or anything.

I'm 50/50 on this. The awards as they are now can be a struggle with the constant nominating, handling of schedual and dates, and keeping in contact with judges, yes.
However, no matter how many new suggestins there are, people will always vote for their favorite artist. It still won't be about the true quality of fanworks a lot of the time: if someone's friend gets nominated or submits a fanwork, that friend will be voted.
At the same time I do like this suggestion, simply because there are several underappreciated artists out there that are active but never get nominated. Those artists get the chance to have their work recognized and possibly have a turn for some votes.
So, yes, I'm half and half. There will always be needed scheduals, dates, and contact with judges, which is what helps keep the Awards up and running. I feel that it's so very important to get people recognized out there for their fantastic work though. After all, wasn't that the whole point of these awards anyway?
*Note to everyone: Btw, when I say artist, I mean every fanwork creator. To me, all kinds of works, whether it's drawing, graphic making, writing.. it's an art. Preventing confusion if there is any. ;D

Hmm...Why not like a :Beginner : Intermediate : Advanced ranks? For "Popular" and newer artists?

Technically, the ASA's are still going BUT...

The site is just too big to keep it as it is. Especially when I have a National political campaign to occupy myself with.

What the AS needs is about 10 awards. Period. I've done this bloody thing for two years and I am telling you it is difficult to have more then 10 awards.

THEN, you need multiple different people running it. For example;

1) A leader
2) Technical person...
3) Graphic artist
4) Show presenter
5) Judges
etc.

But a word of advice to ANYONE who decides to take the lead next year.

Do NOT try and do it on your own.
