When Zira is hanging off the edge of the gorge, a question popped in my head When she doesn't accept Kiara's help, do you think it's just because of hate, or because she wants to be with Scar again

From the version in the movie, I'd say it's hate for Kiara. Cause you can see at the last minute she tries to grab her paw, but you know... to little to late. There actually is a deleted scene [for those who don't know] of Zira letting herself fall. In that case... well actually I still think it's hate. Scar might've had a little help in her choice though. Be it the reason she hated the pridelanders so much, or that a part of her actually loved him to much that it hurt to live.

I also think Zira chose to die - or in another word for it - suicide - because, in my opinion, she'd done everything she did for Scar.
I think Zira was Scar's mate and queen of the Pridelands during Scar's two or three year reign.
When he died, she lost part of herself and instead of humbling herself to Simba, whom she believes killed him - and, in a way, he kinda did. I mean, he flipped Scar over the higher point of Pride Rock (not that he had a choice. Scar was coming at him, mouth open, teeth showing, claws out, with the intent to kill him) and watched him fall, probably saw the hyenas coming towards him with the intent to kill, and did nothing to stop it.
Maybe Zira saw it, went to the hyenas, wanting to kill, which she did, some of them, received the cut on her right ear, and vowed to avenge Scar's death. In her grieving and fractured mind, she wanted to get back at Simba, while 'swearing' her loyalty to this former-prince, now former rogue, now new king of the Pridelands, for the sake of her cubs and the lionesses who saw her as queen still, and she waited for the perfect chance to get revenge. Killing - in my opinion - Simba and Nala's son, Kopa.
An eye of an eye.
Simba (maybe inadvertently) and the hyenas kill Scar. Zira takes care of the hyenas, maybe a good part of them, and then later, she kills the new Prince and heir to the Pridelander throne. Simba's precious son.
Simba finds out, gets angry, and kicks Zira and her followers and her cubs out of the Pridelands. Zira then vows that her son, Scar's chosen Heir, Kovu, will rule the Pridelands by killing Simba.
Again, an eye for an eye, the dangerous continuance of the Circle of Life.
But, when things go horribly wrong in the second film, Zira is hanging from the side of a rock wall, Kiara, Simba's daughter and the new heir to the Pridelands, wants to help her, but why should Zira accept help from the lioness who, in her mind's eye, stole her son and ruined her plans?
Why do that, when everything you've achieved all for the sake of the lion you love, is going wrong?
In other words, Zira did take her own life.

Yes, it was the hyenas, but Simba threw him over the ledge. Scar didn't choose banishment so Simba was probably going to kill him. The hyenas just got to him first. Perhaps Zira, from a low point, saw Simba peering over the edge, seeing the hyenas tear into Scar. Seeing that... well... it'd be enough to make anyone want revenge.

In other words, Zira did take her own life. A good theory. I go along with this one, too.
