So I've been trying to acquire a soundtrack for a movie which has never had a soundtrack released, since I already have it I was thinking about converting it into a bunch of MP3s and editing the channels like the soundtrack for Balto 2 which supposedly did just this to get the soundtrack, I don't really mind the sound effects staying it's just the voiceovers I want out of the files.

Link to what I'm talking about: http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en ... id_film=11

"On the DVD, the voices are most of the time recorded only on the central canal of the dolby 5.1. So by removing this canal, we remove the voices, and don't alter really much the quality of the musics themselves!"

So what program do I need to remove a canal/channel/whatever of a soundfile?

I understand the legal issues with this however this is a soundtrack I think a lot of people would really love to have and it's a real shame it was never officially released, I'm willing to take the risk which I'll be mostly responsible.

Steet has a tutorial around here somewhere, but Audacity could work.

Your welcome. Thought it may not completely remove the audio, if at all. It just depends on the audio.

well, shoot, the official site for "Headac3" is down, i wasn't able to find mirror downloads of the 'mmx' or 'mp3' plugins for it, though i was able to get the 'azid_dll' and program itself

now what?

also, i've discovered the movie only has 'Dolby Digital 1.0' or 'Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo' for it's sound, would the voices even be removable in this case?

As far as I'm aware headac3 is no longer made. Steet once found it before, not sure where. Other than that I have no idea how to help you. I don't know how to code and all that stuff.

^ That's not really being on topic, Echo.

~

And actually, since this is more of a question, and the topic creator found the help
they were looking for it seems, I'm going to lock this [if I'm wrong, PM me, incognito].
