I voted Jenna's side. All those "big paws and blah" are because he is male, not wolf.

Well, males are larger than females, and wolves do have larger paws than all dogs.

But honestly, all it comes down to is genetics.

I dunno, it could be both jenna and balto, so i wish that you could have put a 'both.'

What makes Kodi seem like Balto,IMHO,is the fact that he has large/big paws.

What makes Kodi seem like Jenna,is his fur coloring,although it is slightly darker than his mom's.

Well, we surely don't know how Balto's dad looked like, but I'm not sure if mixing Aniu's white pelt and Balto's dad's Kodi-like fur color (if it was like that) would result in the way Balto looks...Okay, then on the other hand, Balto's fur color could've been inherited from grandparents or something...So, both options are likable

Really, it all comes down to genetics. Kodi having big paws has nothing to do with him being a male - having large paws is actually an indicator of how large the dog will be when it reaches adulthood. I don't pay much attention to the paws of animated characters, just saying how it works in real life. [And in many breeds, males aren't always larger than females. The only way to tell 100% is to, you know, check. Haha. This is a cartoon I know, but just throwing that in there again.]

And in case you have forgotten, Kodi was not all that fast at first. As shown in the flashback he was rather slow, actually. It was only because his father helped 'train' him that he grew to be faster.

Some parts or Kodi look like the same frim Balto and some from Jenna the most highly recognizeable thing is the passed down color from Jenna.

As many here have said it all comes down to genetics. I think Kodi inherited his traits from both his parents.

Both sides. Kodi has two parents, not one. It's only natural for him to have traits from both of them.

Like has been said, it's all about genetics. Kodi got some chromosomes from Jenna and some from Balto. If it weren't so...he be either an exact clone of one of them, which with dogs is pretty much impossible outside a laboratory, or a pretty darn awful deformed dog because he would only have half the chromosomes he needs.


From what I can see, he gets a lot of his build from Balto, though as far as coloring and markings go, he's more similar to Jenna. His fur colors aren't exactly the same, of course, but they don't have to be. My dad's hair is black and my mom's is red, but mine is blond. -shrug-

Basically, a pup doesn't have to have cloned features of his parents. Genes can skip generations, and sometimes there are multiple genes responsible for a trait. (Eye color is like that (well, in humans, at least), and that's why there's so many different shades of each eye color).

Point is, Kodi's looks come from both his parents.

His body shape probably is from his dad and paws, tail, and fur color is from his mom.
