Do you have a deviantART account? :3

If so, do you like it or do you prefer another art site?


I, personally, have an a DA account for about 5 or 6 years and I have known about the site a few months before I made one. I loved the site when I first got on and I still love it, though I don't like that they change of layout of the placed almost every 1.5yrs or so.
I think it's a lovely art community that allows anyone from new artists to professionals appreciate art and artsy things in a polite and orderly manner.

I recently make an account on FurAffinity, too, though I don't like their website anywhere near as much. I made the mistake of making a sheezyart account a few years, I hate that place!

So, what's your artsy web story?

Got a dA, go on it every now and then.

I like quite a few artists there but generally it is SO full of drama it's not worth it, especially the forums.
Main issue with me though is they've added so much useless rubbish it makes my browser lag now. x__X

I use FurAffinity a lot more, still full of drama but stay away from certain types of users and the community is much better.
Made an InkBunny recently too which doesn't look bad.
There's Art9 too which is pretty good, not as big but not that bad.

SheezyArt sucks. xD

I like DA. Though the large amount of green kinda does bore me after a while, and the changes to the site annoys me depending on what they are.
The activity and large amount of members is nice, and gives my account more than enough activity to keep me coming back. Made some great friends there as well.

SheezyArt - I don't understand why you guys hate it. Besides not being as active I haven't seen much of a downside to it.
It gives us the option to personalize our accounts for free while DA makes you pay for those... I kinda forgot about it though and it's more than likely way dead.

FurAffinity - Great community... though there are areas I prefer not to venture to. I like the activity there. Not bored.

BaltoSource - Haven't added anything to it in AGES, but it's still there... thinking of gutting it though.
The Sources have WAY to many now and I REALLY don't feel like a gallery for all of them. Maybe for my graphic galleries, but not fan art.

I have a few minor ones that I use for personal things. Like links to graphics made in my request topic on Photobucket.

And yes I like both and have been on DA since 2003 and FA since like 2006. so far both have been drama free but I prefer FA more just because I find it far more active.

There's also fanartcentral.net and art9.com Both I've used before and both have pretty much the same feel. If you're just looking for a place to dump your pieces and not worry about blogging every thought of your day, I'd recommend it.

I don't really care for the people on it tho, lots of trolls.

I have a DA account. I don't use it as much as I used to. I HATE how people just fav stuff without comments. I wish DA had an option to where people who aren't watching you can't fav your stuff. That seems to be where most of my problems come from.

Mighty: I don't see how thats a problem. (Though they need to have an option to where you don't recieve those messages when they fave it)

Well, that's just me. I just think it's annoying that someone can't at least leave a comment before adding something to their favorites. I leave comments before I add something to my favorites. And yes, I do agree that notification is annoying as well.

Now that wouldn't be fair. If I watched every person after favoriting one of their pics, I'd NEVER be able to keep up with my messages!
On the other hand, not being able to favorite unless commenting first, that sounds more reasonable. Or an option that the artist can set that up.
Cause personally, I find a 'fav' to be a compliment. So I really don't care if I get a comment or not. Especially if the comment would be just, 'Nice.' anyway.

There is this one guy who will block you if you don't comment on his stuff on there. XDDD I find that hilariously pathetic in my honest opinion.
