This is an rp between me and Namacub95, and it focuses on our characters Kala and Rasul. Kala is the daughter of Kiara and Kovu, and Rasul is a rogue male, and they fall in love. But will Kovu and Kiara approve them and let them be together?

The full moon hung low over Priderock. It's inhabitants had were lying sleeping in the den, except for one lioness.

Princess Kala wasn't sleeping with the rest of her family near the centre of the den and the rest of the pride had given both her and her father, King Kovu, a wide berth since their argument. No one had expected Kala to lash out like she had, not even herself, but Kala thought her father's behaviour was unacceptable. He had no right to treat Rasul like that. He had threatened him if he ever came near her again but Kala wasn't a cub anymore, she could take care of herself. She lay her head on her paws and fumed silently, Rasul hadn't hurt anyone. They were only talking...what waswrong with that?

Then the noise of a pebble rattling across stone out side the den caught Kala's attention and she looked up. Who was up at this time of night?

Kala pushed herself to her paws when she heard a quiet voice, from benath the cave, call up to her and her heart stopped.

"Psst...princess. Are you awake? It's me, Rasul."

Rasul? What was he doing here? Her father had made it painfully clear what would happen to him if he wa caught near Priderock or herself again. She approached the edge and peered down into the darkness and she instantly spotted him, standing right beneath her. There was a grunt from the den but when Kala turned to look she found that it was only her brother rolling over in his sleep. For a brief second she had imagined it was her father.

"Rasul...what are you doing here?" she asked in a barely audible whisper then quickly added "Wait, I'll be right down."

Kala felt her blood rush to her cheeks and she turned her head out of habit so Rasul wouldn't see, even though it was dark enough that he couldn't anyway. When he brought up her father a scowl formed on her muzzle. She didn't understand why her father insisted on sending Rasul away...it wasn't as if he was attacking her.

"I'm sorry about him." she said softly "He isn't usually like that...I don't know what came over him."

She returned her gaze to Rasul and added with a smile

"But I am happy you came back."

Kala, if possible, went even redder at Rasul's words. She managed to return his smile but then something he said made her smile disappear in an instant.

"What do you mean used to that sort of treatment?" she asked, barely masking the horror in her voice. How could someone get used to treatment like that? She couldn't imagine anything like that and she felt shocked that Rasul, of all people, should have to put up with it...as far as she knew he was very friendly and quite charming...why would someone treat him that way?

Kala knew she had said the wrong thing when Rasul lowered his head. She internally kicked herself for being insensitive. She listened to Rasul's explaination with a look somewhere between sympathy and horror. She couldn't understand why a father would treat his cub like that...it wasn't right.

"I'm sorry." she said softly "I shouldn't have brought it up...it was insensitive of me...and your father is wrong."

Kala felt somewhat reassured that Rasul didn' think her rude or insensitive, it felt good. Her emerald eyes darted up to the cave onc more, fearful that a pride member would emerge and spot them. Her father would never let Rasul stay and considering the threats he had made, Kala was airing on the side of caution.

"I still can't believe you came back...normally rogues would just disappear after my father found them." she said, quickly changing the subject.

(I know exactly how you feel! And it's okay!)

Rasul smiled at Kala, he knew he had managed to assure her that her behavior wasn't bothering him at all. Then, he noticed her gazing towards the cave several times, and he looked up there as well, as he too feared that Kovu would come and chase him away, just when they were beginning to get to know each other better and getting closer.

"Well.. I guess I'm not like the other rogues you've met" he said, with a humouristic smile on his face, and a somewhat charming glimpse in his eyes.

"No," Kala agreed "You're definately not."

Realizing what she had just said, blood rushed to Kala's cheeks once more. She honestly had no idea why she was acting like this around Rasul, if it were any other male then comments like that would have no effect on her...he really was different.

Then Kala noticed something that made her heart sink, the sky was beginning to lighten in the east. The pride would be waking soon. Disappointment welled in her chest, she liked talking to Rasul, it was a shame that he had to leave...or face her father's wrath.
