All those family names end in everything but the letter e.

There's one family member that you forgot,Denali

I also just realised that they are all canines.

I'm not sure but they all must be huskies also. With Balto's father being husky he counts also.

I don't think it's coincidence. Let me explain.

Certain names are derived from an old language that is still in use today. This language is called Iñupiaq. Of course, I've told almost everyone this already. However, it is very common that when newly born children are born, the parents will give them a specific name to mark a special closeness to one child or another. For example, the mother may name her sibling Panii; meaning "my daughter". Similarly, the father will name HIS sibling Ignii; meaning, yep, "my son".

Doesn't strike me odd one bit that these names both end in a vowel.

You forgot about Aniu, Balto's mom!

I also kept this the same for my fanfic in progress. His dad's name ends in an 'a' and so does his sister.
