OK, I get the fact that from the clips I've seen it seems that My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic looks like a good show. The fanart and animated music videos I've seen are pretty cool.

BUT...The fan reaction seems way too ridiculous for the show. IT'S MY LITTLE PONY!!!! There have been two or three other series, a big movie, and multiple video releases and books.

This one isn't that special. Maybe because I am a guy.

You might say...this series was created by Lauren Faust. She helped create Foster's and The Powerpuff Girls...don't get me wrong, they were good shows - along with her husband, Craig McCracken.

Dexter's, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Foster's were NOT this hyped. Maybe I'm forgetting the power of the internet age, but this is ridiculous.

WHAT??? This is unbelievable! OK, so don't want to release spoilers in this internet age, but come on.

I DO NOT wish an end for the franchise, not at all, I hope it continues for as long as needed. Disclaimer: If I seem a little ranty today...I'm just kind of tired of MLP:FIM. It has been most of my thoughts for the past week. I have been trying to collect interviews for you all, but after that is over I am through. If I get any new voice actors I will let you all know.

*Yawn* I need a nap.

Can someone please explain this phenomenon to me?

Well... I don't know much about it either, but to be honest, I saw part of the first episode and it looked more 'mature' than the previous ones. I could never tell you positively, though, because I've never watched MLP in the first place. But I guess the new show appeals to a lot more people being as it isn't being made just for 5 year olds or 8 year olds anymore?

I dunno.

I like MLP. But, ionno. I don't think its that special.
I think PPG is waaaay better but thats just me.

The Balto fandom scares me more.

So people like it.. what's the big deal? If we're bothering you, just ignore us. It's an AMAZING show.. and very addictive, hence the huge fandom. It's better for people to obsess over things they love rather than things they hate, right? (See: Twilight) Plus, kid's shows have totally sucked recently. This show is like... a miracle.

So far I haven't see any MLP fans going about saying "Hurrr... I'm a pony. SRSLY GUIZ!!"

As for me, idk.. This new one looks cute, but I really enjoyed the original MLP show. But really, if the fans of it bother you just ignore it.
And hope kiddies don't start running around spewing about how they are ponies and have them ruin this fandom like they largely have for any wolf/dog related movies. .-.

LOL, trust me, we don't. x3 We say things like *bro-hoof* or *facehoof* and call ourselves 'bronies'.. and it's all in good fun. None of us think we're ACTUALLY "ponies trapped in hyooman bodies", trust me. x3 If they do.. I have yet to come across them - but the fandom in general is not like that at all.

I don't get why people get so uptight over things they don't like.
MLP isn't exactly shoved in your face as much as other things, and even someone who hates it has to admit they lend themselves perfectly to emoti-posters because their faces are so expressive. xD

I actually watched a few episodes today and let me say, it's not bad. I actually like it. Maybe I'm not obsessed, but the show is awesome! And I read the comments and even some guys watch it. It's not a girly show.

People just think that because the old ones were girly. But this one isn't too much. Or at least in my opinion.

It's okay, you don't have to like the show, and as a fan I will still Love and Tolerate you. FiM is pretty radically different from past MLP series and I'm not just talking about the Flash animation art style, the number of pop culture references are off the charts and collectively this fandom has managed to get themselves recognized by the animators as a legitimate fanbase. I think what sets this show apart form Lauren Fausts other shows, which where great too, is that instead of an original show this is a vast re-imagining of a brand people remember from their childhoods. I remember watching Generation 1 MLP and MLP: Tales as a kid in Daycare and to see it in a brand new light taps part of that nostalgia as well as being so good it stands on it's own for people who've never seen a single other MLP series.

This show also really galvanized my love for animation. I was in an awkward position, my whole life I was basically made to assume I would "grow out" of cartoons, that they had no real value to an adult for anything beyond nostalgia and then this show came along and I realized I like cartoons, new and old, so long as they're good.

I'm a 20 year-old male and I watch MLP:FiM and I have 20 year-old male friends who watch MLP:FiM this speaks volumes to how far this show is from the last generation of MLP.

I'm pretty sure more guys watch it that girls do. It's a manly show. People only think it's girly because the old series were all so disgustingly sexist. It's definitely not sexist anymore. Everything's improved. xD

heh, I didn't even know about this show until last week, I swear the 80's show remakes are running rampant.. ..

I'm really not that crazy about the animation style, but I have to admit I love Rainbow Dash and Nightmare moon..

her name is Nightmare Moon.. who I guess is an embodiment of Luna, a winged unicorn character in the show (I haven't seen the episodes just fanart).. and that is a freaking cool character design
