I guess many of you have noticed, everyday there are more and more adoptions flooding over BS.
People wip up random designs, put a bunch in one picture and post it in their image gallery letting others adopt them. Isn´t that against the rules?
I mean images NOT featuring any "registered" character aren´t allowed. So why can people post houndreds of adoption things?
Adoptions belong to the adoption topic, not in the contest, neither in the galleries. But wait, made up desings putting to adoption isn´t allowed right? So people can´t put up their random, often sparkly, designs anywhere.
I think the character section is messed up more than enough, we don´t need 60% of the pages saying "adopted from: *insert name here*"

I wouldn´t mind if people would put up ONE adoption sheet or whatever you like to call it. And the designs need to be good and unique, not just a random mess. But now, all these horrible adoptions are taking over.

People should rather create their owm characters and not have a list of almost all adopted characters. I also have a few adopted ones, it´s okay. I don´t mind adopted characters but people should have more self created characters than adopted ones. (Mostly they don´t even use them... so why adopting a character?)

Well, to be honest you can´t say adopting, that are just fictional creations, but whatever...

To everyone who does create these adoptions: this rant is nothing against you personally, it´s just the flood of adoptions that is bothering me. So don´t whine and say I flame you, it is just a opinion.

I like doing adoptions from time to time. I actually try on my designs to look nice and original because I like creating designs, not for "yo people must adopt them now hurr!".
But people on BS caught this adoptable thing and like on Deviantart, those designs are getting more and more random and unoriginal.

Exactly. If they are well made, good looking adoptable sets it´s fine. But many people just grab a blank render/lineart, color them 4 or more times without paying attention into the designs, put everything together into one picture and post them making others adopt them.

Yeah I agree, plus people are so lazy and just reuse same lineart like Kay fedeway or images from BS artists. It's not that hard to render oh and Most peoples don't care or take pride in making unique designs just slopped it together it does get bothersome.Same happens to TLK source^

I've never understood adoptions...I always thought it was a trick to gain attention...but I don't care for them, so its a little annoying to see much activity towards adoptions than other works.

Okay, this is where some people would agree with me and disagree. Some people love designing, BUT don't have the time to make pages, or like to see that people like their designs good enough to want them. So, they make these adoptables. Now i know some adoptables are pitiful, and shouldn't be allowed, but i don't think that we should ban having miniature adoptions or anything. I think it's kinda cool to have one or two. Or if someone requests a batch of dogs or something ^^

Gotta say, I disagree for the most part.
People that love designing should offer their services in the requests section, instead of cranking out tons of designs for random characters. Also I hate when people call them batches, that really just says "it took me three minutes to make these designs" to me.

Personally, along with linearts, I also don't like when people make renders to adopt a character. I've held adoptions before and I required a picture drawn by the person adopting the character. Because, no matter how good their art is, I believe that if someone is willing to put in that little bit of effort and make that picture to adopt that character, then they are much more likely to take care of that character than a person who colors in a lineart or does a render.

I agree here. Adoptions are just taking over, and frankly I've become annoyed by them, which is why I've pretty much left the main sites and stuck to the forums.

I just think if people can't be bothered to make their own characters, then they are not quite as creative as some make out. I've given up on adoptions full stop...and characters to be honest. I barely draw my characters at all now, my fursona yes, but characters not so much.

I gotta say i kinda agree with this comment. If a person is creative they will happily make there own characters along with bio ect..., to me its a little sign of lazyness. Adoptions have pretty much swarmed Deviantart as of late and i dont think this site should allow things like this. May i remind you that this itself is a fan site and not an adoption site for characters, me as a person would prefur this type of thing to stick with deviantart and not here.

Oh YES I agree. Adoptions can be fun, especially if you are feeling uncreative about designing your own character. But now its far too overused. EVERY person has pups or some animal up for adoption and most of them are never succesful. Its just stupid altogether.
