I know there are probably similar topics, but I was really curious to know if anyone else was bullied by people at school in the past, currently, or both, just because they love Balto, or they show a simple interest in it.

I've been teased for three years continuously and without end because I love wolves, because I love Balto & Spirit, and simply because I draw what I love. I'm frankly sick and tired of it and because of these things, the teasing escalates to just things that shouldn't be said...

I wanted to know if anyone else felt this way, or if it was just me or does.

Not totally, They tease me sometimes, but they don't even know who Balto is soo that most of the time it's only when they see me doing something Balto related or have something Balto related

The people at my school had a bit of an idea, but not much of a clue, and lucky for me, one of my sixth grade teachers stood up for me because she had seen the movie and known it was based on a true story. And then they couldn't say anything around her cause they now knew who Balto was, in some way.

Though that still didn't stop anything much...

People know not to tease me (expect friends) for a good reason. So I can't say that I have been. :C

I took some teasing from my roommates in college, but in retrospect it wasn't as bad as my reaction to it would have suggested. At least they never found out about my Land Before Time dream.

At some point, but I don't care anymore. If you don't want people to bully you for stupid things (i.e. liking animated movies) then don't tell them that, and don't make a target of yourself. At the end of school no one cared anymore anyway, so meh.

That's the thing, though. I never did tell them. They found out by going on my Youtube which I had given them when I was still younger (about 5th or 6th grade) and when we still talked like normal. Then I guess they remembered it or something (though how I have no clue), and went on and saw all my AMVs.

That's the thing. I never brought it on myself, or at least, I hadn't intended to seeing as I was what, 10 years old?

Though, I do understand what you mean. I've heard it countless times from others. My question is, though, shouldn't we be able t express what we love freely? Without having to be teased and bullied about it? It isn't right. Then again, there's almost no such thing as fair anymore...

yea people tease me alot because i like balto. Its makes me angrey to!

I used to get teased quite a bit in my middle school, but everyone in my high school pretty much doesn't care and I've met several people who share interest in animated films, fan dubs, animated characters when my school hosts a "character day", ect. Now I can freely talk about whatever animated film I want, draw what I want, and embrace whatever fandom I want without having to be careful not to get bullied over it. I was especially bullied in the 6th grade as well, which was when I mainly got obsessed about Balto. I usually just shrugged it off because they had no clue who/what Balto was anyway.

I get teased by my brother and my cousin ever since I watched Balto last November. My brother watched it but my cousin just slept or left the room whenever I played the movie so I just stayed quiet

oh, fair enough. Then that's just not fair.

And I don't know.. kids are cruel. xD Feel glad you're not being bullied for something you can't help - i.e. being black (I've seen photos of you in the Pictures of You board in Other which is how i know you're not x3) or being gay. Those are the kids who really have it rough. Just saying.

But yeah, kids are cruel and we're all judgemental. Like, a lot of people these days would get bullied just for liking Twilight or Justin Bieber for example because so many people seem to despise those things for no reason. Just an example.

In my opinion. there is nothing to tease about. Liking something or being a fan of something so no a big deal, i mean there are people out their also standing the same level as us. It is just certain people prefer to like something and that is their thing not yours. I for one have not got tease or anything,as no one know i like Balto, but you should not feel so bad about this, and man some people can laugh and tease about something for so long.

Yeah I understand completely. I'm glad I don't suffer from that kind. It's one of the few things I'm greatful for.



It shouldn't be a big deal, but I've come to learn that I'm very sensitive. I react to things almost over-dramatically. Not hysterical or anything, but I tend to take everything to heart, even if it was meant as a joke.
