Nightstar tossed and turned in his moss bed, dreams of hissing and pain-filled yowls filled his head as he slept. Finally the black tom gasped and shot up, immediately awakening from his sleep. His chest heaved as he glanced left and right quickly and then he settled back down with a sigh. Dawn was fast approaching, he noticed, and soon he would need to organise a dawn patrol. 'I'll get Redfoot to lead it, I have other duties to attend to.' He thought and stretched his muscles as he stood. Nightstar padded out of his den and leapt down from Highrock, landing perfectly on all four paws. He looked around camp and noticed everything was normal. "It was just a dream, everything is fine now." He told himself quietly. As he padded past the warrior's den he noticed the grey, spotted she-cat Rainfall and his heart almost skipped a beat. He had had a crush on her ever since they were first made warriors and he still had a crush on her now that he was leader. Nightstar sighed, it was only a moon ago that the previous leader Falconstar died. The black tom shook his head and with one last glance at the sleeping form of Rainfall, padded away. Now the clearing was getting lighter, not much lighter but lighter none-the-less. He padded back to the warriors den and softly called for his deputy. "Redfoot, I need you to lead the dawn patrol." He said quietly.

Patchstar rose from her den, and padded quietly out, the only sound claws clicking on the hard, stone floor. She glanced up to her Talltree, the place where leaders of FireClan have made announcements for countless moons. She raced up the tree, a black-and-white blur as she added new scars to it, only to announce the dawn patrol. A few cats who were awake gazed at Patchstar, waiting for her to make her say.
"The dawn patrol will be lead by Foxfang," she yowled. "Take with you whomever you like."

Redfoots ginger ears twitched at the sounds of his leaders voice, and he rose up from the den, and quietly crept out. His ear twitched once more as he heard what his leader said.
"Yes, Nightstar," he murmured. "Who shall I take with me?"

2. Who are the apprentices mentors?
3. You don't have to answer this, but what time zone are you in?))

((Of course I could handle another charrie (I'll call him Wildshadow), and my bios say who has what apprentices; Rainfall mentors Badgerpaw and Foxfang mentors Drakepaw. And I live in Western Australia, but I don't know what timezone that is.))


Nightstar thought for a moment, then answered. "Take Rainfall, Badgerpaw and Bramblefang with you." He replied, and then padded away from the ginger tom. He bounded up the highrock and disappeared into his den.

Foxfang smiled and looked around the clearing. "I'll take Tawnyfur and Wildshadow with me." He mewed.

Redfoot nodded firmly, and watched Nightstar disappear into his den, only a black tail disappearing into darkness. He padded over to Rainfall, who was already awake. "You up for the dawn patrol? I'll wake Badgerpaw- you can wake Bramblefang."

Rainfall nodded. "Yes, of course." She replied, then went to go wake Bramblefang. "Bramblefang...Bramblefang! You're on the dawn patrol with Redfoot, Badgerpaw and myself." She said.

Redfoot padded to the apprentices den, and softly called in, "Badgerpaw," he mewed.

Bramblefang rose to his paws.

"Huh? Oh, right..Coming Redfoot." He spoke softly to avoid waking other apprentices.

"Oh, what about me Foxfang? Can I come too?" Asked Drakepaw, padding up to the dark ginger warrior.

Foxfang rolled his eyes. "I suppose so.." He replied.

"We're going on the border patrol," Redfoot explains to Badgerpaw. "FireClan has been acting up lately, so I hope your ready for a fight." he warned.

Tawnyfur smiled slightly, looking at her paws.

((shes gonna have a crush on foxfang))

"Boy am I ever!" Badgerpaw mewed excitedly. "If those Fireclan warriors dare try and cross our border I'm gonna give 'em a lot of wounds and they're not gonna bother us for a long time." The young brown and white apprentice boasted.

"When you're ready, we'd like to start the dawn patrol." Said Rainfall, standing beside her apprentice.


"Alright...Tawnyfur, Wildshadow and Drakepaw..Are you all ready to begin the dawn patrol?" Foxfang asked.

Redfoot glanced down at Badger paw and flicked his tail- the signal to exit camp, and begin the patrol.

Tawnyfur nodded, and padded at the back of the patrol, wanting to be close to Foxfang, but her paws itched with embarrassment.

Rainfall followed Redfoot out of camp, her apprentice Badgerpaw bouncing around her with excitement. "Calm yourself Badgerpaw, that is not how a warrior would act...How can you expect to become a warrior when you're jumping around like a spooked squirrel?" She meowed sternly, though there was a hint of affection in her voice. Badgerpaw laughed and settled down a bit. "Okay...I'm just excited. Maybe we'll get to fight Fireclan warriors!" He said, trying not to start jumping about again. "I hope not." Rainfall murmured.

Foxfang led his patrol out of camp, his apprentice Drakepaw padded along just beside him. Wildshadow brought up the rear, his tail raised high as he looked around his territory. He sniffed the air a few times. 'No Stormclan scent here...Good, let's hope they had enough sense not to cross the border at all.' He thought.

Bramblefang looked nervously over at Badgerpaw. Bramblefang was a new warriors, not yet used to the ideas of fighting on every patrol. And lately, the patrol have been even more tense then they used to be.

Redfoot padded at the lead of the patrol, his red-tortishell tail raised high. His green eyes flitted to and throw, watching even closer on the other side of the border. This tom did not trust them at all.

Tawnyfur padded at the back of the patrol, before pausing and raised her paw. She smelled StormClan- and fresh to, by the scent of it. "Foxfang..." she started to mew, her tabby hackles raising by the secong.
