I was thinking that, in order to attract the readers, the first pages of the comics are VERY important.

By watching ArChip's work on what we thought to be the first scene, I have a problem. I think it's not as spectacular or emotion-filled as it should be.
I think we shouldn't focus on delivering something FOR the TaleSpin fans, but something for people to remember why they USED TO LIKE TaleSpin, and also enough attractive for readers who don't know TaleSpin to like too.

So I think we should pick another scene to start the comic. A short scene that would give all the sense of the comics, but which would not be actually part of the episode (so does not give away the plot). A bit like a "promotional". Kinda like what Boom did for Rescue Rangers #1 :

I was thinking we could do something involving the air pirates and Kit using his air-foil...(these are characteristics of TaleSpin) But I can't figure out something very clear.

Any ideas?

Well we should think about the point of this, it's picking up were Talespin picked off years ago. Perhaps something that links the original series to ours? Since this is the Second Pilot, perhaps do a scene from 'Plunder And Lightning' and have it turn out to be Baloo and Kit flashingback to their first adventure together on the way to Racevile? That way it leads into the story but doesn't spoil anything while still being emotional, as their first adventure would clearly mean something to them. This also allows us to transition from the original Talespin into our new idea.

Steet is very right about the main thrust of this image. I -must- hearken back to the strengths of Tale Spin and remind people why they made sure there was time in their day to catch it playing on the Disney Afternoon. BOOM successfully accomplished this with their CnDRR Promotional. It lifts the spirits without even trying!

I could bang out a few ideas in a very loose and gestural form that would require a more competent artist to come along and finish out. Mind if I throw down?

Yes, that could work...I was more leaning towards a new, never before seen scene that would capture the spirit of the series. People may mistake it for a comic version of the episode and not new material. But maybe.

I also think we should include a "splash" image (two pages) like Boom! did with DWD and CDRR. It would have to be very detailed, include the important characters and of course, be well drawn and colored...

How about about a daydream from Molly where Rebecca (physically regressed to Molly's age) is playing with her

That would need to be a very short introduction (around 4 pages), not a whole story; and it should include most characters

I kind of think whatever we chose should both be able to stand on its own, but also set up the second pilot. Like Baloo, Kit, and maybe Molly convincing Rebecca to let them go one vacation, not explicitly stating its to go to Racevile or nothing, just go on vacation. Reason being, it'd be funny, could include most of the characters, and as I said, serve a duel purpose.

It'll be the best way to start it off ;3

Hello everyone! :)

There is an idea to make '4-pages comic book' (4P) with very simple story, which will however remind readers the roots of original Talespin.

Shortly, the plot is like that: Air pirates got some 'super-plane' with super-powers and they trying to attack Sea Duck (it has important cargo) but Baloo and Kit with the help of Molly-the-danger-woman and Becky-the-fruit-thrower wins. At the end of the story, they come to finish and see that Wildcat mixed up with another cargo so they need to repeat the flight ;)

It may be quite short, very funny and will fit in 4-5 pages.

What do you think?

P.S. Oh, and in final scene mad Baloo yells: "I need a vacation!!" -> 2nd pilot link :)
