Kopa IS an official character no matter that you say. Not being a movie character don't make him unofficial. Those Six New Adventures books appears as official TLK stories too. I think that cub at the end of TLK 1 is not Kiara, but I don't think it's Kopa neither.
You also made a topic with generally the same point and you get so much answers about it already...

Yeah but the point is that Kopa is unofficial to the movies. Fluffy is a movie character and Kopa is not whereas Kiara is = Fluffy is officially either genderless or a girl. But I agree, this topic is very similar to the other one and serves basically the same purpose. Though, the question is still slightly different and more "wide" apart from the beginning post content, so I'm not sure if this can be called a dublicate?

I think its a little broader, though all of these Kopa topics are getting annoying now.

Kopa is a character. Point final. He doesn't have to be part of a movie to be an official character. Ahadi, Mufasa and Scar's father was in the books six New Adventures and he's considered an official character, so why is Kopa any different?
(Hope I didn't sound too harsh. I am slightly tired of seeing all this Kopa speculation going around lately.)

The problem is the word "real" is too open for interpretation. In this case I think it's meant as Kopa is not real to the movies as in he doesn't exist in any of them because so very many falsely believe he does. I think people interpret the meaning as "not official" because the image states the word 'fanfiction'. But you and the picture are both right. Those books are official fanfiction. Written by outsiders instead of Disney's workers/the film makers = fanfiction (in lack of more specific term) Approved by Disney's book department = official. RESULT: Official fanfiction.

The things is, they are not 'fanfictions' as you call them. They're not written by simply TLK fans. They are offical Disney TLK books c: Released around the same time as the movie I believe. But yeah, all the Kopa topics are getting rather tedious to look at now.

If you read my post through, you noticed I did use the words "in lack of more specific term". But a story can't be basically anything more than fanfiction if it wasn't written by the story base's original creators (as in the film makers) or by copyright holders (someone from Disney.) And those books are not written by them but by outsiders. Now we don't know if they consider themselves as fans, but fanfiction is the closest term for it that I can think of. It's not as if something made by a fan suddenly stops being made by a fan just because Disney gave their stamp on it. The only difference Disney's stamp on the cover makes is that the fanfiction becane official and profit.
