While dragons thrive now in Alagaesia, their numbers are quite depleted here.

It is rare that you should find an egg, and even rarer that it shall hatch for you. A big reason for this is simple; no one believes in the myths and legends of dragons anymore. But when a young teen stumble upon an egg, she began to believe. Her suspicions are only confirmed when the egg cracks, revealing a young dragon hatchling...and the future looming over her like storm clouds on the horizon.
Little does she know, another rider lurks, who's intentions are good, but one who is very secretive and is hard to gain trust from.

Enemies are gathering, mainly criminals who have seen dragons before. They want power, and when they learn about the young Riders, they decide they would be an easy target.

With a secret to hide and secrets to learn, they set out on an adventure that will forever change their lives.

Personality: Damian can be careful with words. He always makes sure never to say anything that could be used against him. But on the other hand, he can be unsure about making desicions. The fact is, sometimes he can be stable, while other times he can act completely reckless. No one is entirely sure why that is, but if you get to know him, you'll come to find out in some way why he is the way he is.
Fears: Losing his dragon, seeing the people he fleed from almost four years ago
Extra: Fleed from Alagaesia when he was 13 years old because he was being hunted for finding a mysterious black egg. This was at a time when they were trying to revive the dragons the most. His parents told him to keep it under all costs and never to let anyone get it. They had a feeling it would hatch under his watch. When he was about 14, the egg finally hatched. He's been learning the ropes of training and riding his dragon, and even though he isn't fully experienced, he knows enough to get by.

Personality: Mostly quiet, but brave and fierce at heart. He will do anything to protect Damian and he knows Damian would do the same for him. He tends to trust his kind too much though, so he is deathly afraid of being betrayed by another dragon and losing Damian.
Fears: Losing his rider, being deceived by another dragon

Age: Around 14-15
Species: Human
Role: Rider
Description: Casey has deep, hazel eyes, and dark hair that resembles black at times. She has a spray of freckles across the bridge of her nose and the tops of her cheeks, that almost seem to blend in with her tanned complexion. She has an athletic build, if a bit short, which hides her surprising clumsiness. She often has a faraway look in her eyes, and a smile lurking on her lips.
Personality: Casey can often space out, day-dream, etc. when she is bored, or when she feels like it. This happens quite frequently, and though she is fairly smart, she can act practically deaf, as most of your words will go right out the other side of her head. When she isn't lost in her own world, she is talkative, friendly, and helpful, though she usually messes things up more than she helps, due to her clumsiness. She may act mature around adults, but thats required. She still retains many child-like attributes, such as a tendency to believe in myths and legends. She secretly always wanted something magic or exciting to happen to her, or both, if possible, even though she isn't the bravest.

Description: Jenta has deep green scales, a color like the pines underneath sunlight. She has intelligent eyes of the same color, if a shade darker. Her wings are incredibly pale, and almost translucent under the light. She has a neat, compact body that is a bit small for a dragon, but perfect for her Rider.
Personality: Jenta is caring, in her own way. She has no qualms about killing enemies, and will fiercly protect the ones that she loves. She can seem not very sensitive at times, but she only acts that way when she thinks she's doing whats best, and arguements will only get in the way.
Fears: She hates small spaces, but can stand them if there are windows, exits, etc.

Damian arrived at the school he was supposed to go to now. When he arrived at this town, he knew he would eventually have to return for educational purposes, but he hadn't been in school for so long now, he forgot what it was like. All he remembered was that he hated going. He sighed and looked at his crumbled up schedule. It was wrinkled and slightly torn, from all the wear it had to endure during his flight practices, but he decided it was good enough to still read. He struggled to try and see the times, but when he checked his watch he discovered it was about 3PM, the time school was usually out.

A sigh of relief came from his voice now, and he crumbled the schedule back up into his jacket. He decided to sit and wait against the wall. Maybe it would be best to try and gain a friend. Of course, he wouldn't be able to tell anyone of his creature, Cyclone, yet, for it would raise questions and ultimately lead to his running away from yet another town, but the teenager had grown lonely over time and was desperately in need of someone to talk to.

Riiing! The sharp sound drilled into Casey's ear, making her jerk in surprise. She brushed stray strands of her dark hair away from her face, blinking away the remnants of her day-dream. Gathering up her books, she slung them into her bag quickly, glad for the signal that ended the day. As well as the school week, as it happened. She stumbled a bit under the weight of her bag, but her aching shoulder soon grew used to it, though it let out quiet complaints every few moments.

She hurried out the door, pressed forward by her eager peers that had been as anxious for school to end as she had been. Casey was swept along by the crowd, and found herself soon stumbling out the front doors, the sunlight welcome after the artificial flourescent lights the school used.

Because her house was so close by, Casey walked to and from school. She managed to withdraw to the fringes of the mob, where the pushing and shoving wasn't quite so fierce. Walking away from the loud, boisterous group, Casey didn't notice the large rock in her way.

Her foot caught on the heavy stone, and she found herself on the ground, breathless and surprised. She sat up quickly, and groaned. Her books lay scattered around her, their pages already stained by the damp soil. She straightened quickly, and ended up banging her head into someone's knee. Now with a headache to accompany her aching shoulder and bruised ribs, she fell backwards again. Looking up, she saw an unfamiliar face, probably around her age. "Sorry," she muttered sheepishly, a red flush creeping into her freckled cheeks.

Damian was darting his eyes through the humongous pool of high-schoolers when all of a sudden he was bumped in the knee by one of them. He laughed to himself, but the sound didn't come out loud enough to hear clearly. He picked up her stuff that had fallen and brushed off the dirt to clean them off. After that he set it down on the clean concrete and held his hand out for her to grab. She could refuse it, of course, but being a bit of a gentlemen, Damian would have done it for almost anyone.

"Don't worry," he said. "I'm not one to ponder on embarrassment." His statement was meant to be reassuring, but he hadn't talked to anyone for a while, so, in turn it gave a fact he hadn't even thought about until just now. he was used to the way he talked. He knew what his won words meant and how they were supposed to be interpreted. This girl, however, could take it the wrong way. He decided to elaborate slightly on what he meant. "What I mean is..." His cheeks reddened a bit as he continued. "I know how it feels. I won't ridicule you for it in case you were wondering." He gave a nervous smile.

"I'm Damian. Who're you?"

Casey took his offered hand, and pulled herself to her feet. She gathered her books, stuffing them once more into her bag. "I'm Casey," she replied, giving a small smile. "It's nice to meet you Damian." A brief pause followed before she once again filled it with conversation. "Are you new here? I haven't seen you around. When did you move in?" The questions and statements were spoken rapidly, which she couldn't seem to help but doing.

Damian looked up a minute, as if seeming to think before he decided on an answer. "Yeah, I'm new." He paused. "Well, I arrived here I'd say a few weeks ago. I just got to get going back to school as all. I don't want to, but if I don't I hear there's a price to it, so," He shrugged his shoulders. He would have mentioned his parents, but he didn't live with them. To mention them at all would only create more and more lies, and ultimately may end a friendship in the future that, for now, hadn't even really began.

He tried to think of something to say to fill the new-found silence, but nothing seemed to come to mind. He just got a sentence off the top of his head to say to keep the conversation going. "I'll be going on Monday. I just came out here today to scope things out as all. Try to make a friend or two because I haven't had any in a long, long time. Actually, I've had no one to talk to as a friend for the past few months..." he trailed off. He just realized that he was saying too much for comfort. The truth was though, it was comforting to have someone to spill most of the details to. Or at least... some of them anyway.

He had a feeling he could trust this girl, Casey. She had a different kind of aura around her. Damian couldn't place it, but he knew somehow she was different.

Casey cocked her head. Was he merely unpopular, or was there another reason to the fact he had no friends? He did say he had no one to talk to...she shook her head, clearing the confusing thoughts. She would dwell on the matter later.

"So, uh, Damian, where di you move from?" she asked curiously. She felt drawn to him, though she wasn't sure how, exactly. It wasn't it the way that she had feelings for him, or anything, but he seemed...different. Without waiting for an answer, she added, "You want to walk with me? We can talk on the way." She smiled.

Damian tried to make up something quick to say, since mentioning Alagaesia would only cause a suspicion. He nodded and began walking with the girl, putting his hands in his pockets once more. "Well..." he paused trying to think, when he got an idea. "I came from a town a bit far off. I don't think anyone here has heard of it." He hoped she wouldn't ask the name, and that this information would be enough to suffice, but then again, Damian's luck when it came to hiding things wasn't always the best.

Casey nodded. She didn't feel like pressing for details, and he seemed sort of uncomfortable talking about it anyway. "So, do you want to walk with me?" she repeated, since he had only answered her first question. "We can talk while walking."

Damian had thought motions would be enough, but apparently, it seemed as if the newcomer had to speak everything for now. "Sure," he said, and continued to walk, but more by her side than anything. He faintly wondered where it was they could possibly be heading. Were they going towards Casey's home? Or were they going elsewhere? "So where to?" He asked casually.

OOC: Is he going to be there when Casey finds the egg or is she going to find it alone?

Ooc:// I think it would add more drama if he was there while she found it (which is a good thing). But you can decide.

"To my house....unless you want to talk longer. It is just around the block." A thoughtful pause ensued before Casey added, "We could go to the forest." Her green eyes looked at him questioningly, waiting for his answer.

Damian thought about it for a while, but eventually decided that there was no harm in simply taking a walk through the forest with Casey. It wasn't like his dragon was lurking about there now, even though that was where their practices took place. Although he knew the place well, he probably shouldn't let on he knew too much, he decided. "Sure, I'd love to go!" He smiled. "After all, I need someone to show me around the beautiful scenery, since I don't know it as well as I could."

His eyes sparkled with triumph. Were his words believable? He thought so, but then again, he couldn't ever know what the girl beside him was thinking.

Casey couldn't suppress a small laugh at the way he put it. Beautiful scenery indeed; if there wasn't any litter, that is. "Great," she replied out loud, small smile growing into a larger grin. She adjusted her bag on her shoulder, which was already beginning to ache again. "But, uh, I need to drop this off at my house first, if you don't mind," she said apologetically.

Damian put his hands out in the type of motion that meant 'go ahead' but he spoke, "No problem, by all means." He took that moment to laugh a bit, then the sound resided to being just a smile. "So which way?" He asked, remembering something. "Sorry if I'm asking too many questions on directions." He laughed again.
