I've noticed many people think star to be really tiny for a sled ddog, when he is actually the same size as Kaltag. In the scene when Kaltag is about to hit star (for the 2nd or 3rd time) and he hits himself he is actually the same height as Kaltag. Which means he isn't so small after all.

Well, the belief he is 'small' comes from the fact he is very skinny compared to all the other sled dogs. His slender build compared to Kaltag's, although they may be the same height, makes it seem as if he is smaller.
Very nice observation, though. I probably would not have noticed that.
