iPhone's and Android's are pretty popular...

Hey guys,
I was wondering; what would people think about having an Animation Source iPhone/Android app? Or at least, a mobile version of Animation Source?

And if you would want it (like me), what features do you think should be added?

I, personally, would like to see some kind of mobile application for the site; what about you?

I disagree with this completely. If this site were ever to get to that point, then people would be using sms. All it's doing is promoting it.

People will use SMS anyway.

And I think this is a good idea, good way to promote the site anyway.

The shoutbox works on my iPhone, the only problem I have with the site is the fact that if I am using a 3G connection, the images take a long time to load. Not only that, but it uses quite a lot of MB space.

You could look into Tapatalk - http://www.tapatalk.com/ - and integrate that into the forums. I use tapatalk for a couple other forums and it's extremely good at letting you quickly get to where you want to be.

For me, everyone has blackberries. It's getting kind of annoying to be honest. Everyone's getting the same exact phone. Oh well. I think AS as an app would be a good idea. Though, I think it would cost money to make the app.

As for the SMS, it wouldn't matter. Not everyone who texts uses SMS. I, for one, do not. Plus, if there was a real app, you would still have to read the rules. And then you'd see 'No SMS'. So... that wouldn't really be an issue.

Maybe this would be a good idea.. I have an android phone and I NEVER use SMS when texting. What's the point of that? My phone has a perfectly nice keyboard with everything I need.

And Moki has a point ^ It would cost some money.

ALL iOS and Android phones have spell check + auto correct built in, I don't think SMS is much of a problem.

Not only would having an App help us who have moved into the smartphone market, but having an Animation Source app on both Apple App Stores (iPhone and iPad) and on the Android Marketplace could be a great idea from a webranking perspective.
