~ Plot ~Everything is normal in Chicago, Illinois as the new school year is beginning. The only thing different is the new year at Bearmont High School, students groaning as they near the first day and excitement of seeing friends again. Little does the students and faculty of the school know, four students and a looming danger are about to change the city forever. Four students, no different than any other at the school, meet in one of their classes at the high school. They have never met each other before, except maybe once seeing their face at the local grocery store once or twice. Although they haven't spoken apart from the simple "Hello" exchange on the first day - they are about to find out that they all have something in common. They are all different, sharing inhuman abilities that will change their lives forever. A Vampire, a Werewolf, an Animorph, and a Half Spirit who have no experience with these abilities thrust upon them are about to discover something the world has never known. Unable to control their powers, they begin to behave strangely around their fellow students at the High School. Random earthquakes, thunderstorms, and fires begin to disrupt this part of the country - and they feel it has something to do with a shady student at their school. ~ Setting ~Modern Day - Autumn Chicago, Illinois ~ Characters ~Amber Rodier - Polar Ashlyn Buchanan - Polar Zachary Chase ~ Hunter Griffin Gold ~ Hunter ~ My Characters ~Full Name: Amber Sloan Rodier Nickname: Amber or Rode Age: Sixteen, almost Seventeen Gender: Female Species: Animorph Crush: None Dating: None Personality: Amber is the reserved type, but she isn't shy, if you understand what I mean. Full Name: Zachary Chase Nickname: Zac Age: 17 Gender: Male Species: Werewolf Crush: Open Dating: No one currently. Personality: Not necessarily afraid of vampires anymore, but he is still somewhat nervous thinking about the very first vampire he ever encountered: Griffin. Otherwise, he's normally a cheerful guy who always tries to bring up the mood, though knows when to cut it out. Zac is strong and brave, and willing to do most anything for his friends. History: Zac used to live a normal life before he was dared by a few dumb classmates and sent to the forest as his challenge. There he was turned into the creature he is today and he was so traumatized by the accident he never went to his regular friends again. He stayed in the forest, not knowing how to change back into his wolf form and not really wanting to anyway. He was met with a vampire once. He was so nervous around the creature, let let fear get to him. It just so happened to be a full moon and he was forcibly changed. The vampire, Griffin, was startled at the creature and ran off. The two never met up again. Eventually, Zac got the hang of his abilities and moved to another town. Appearance: Personal Description: N/A Extra: None Full Name: Griffin Gold Nickname: Could be called Griff, but doesn't like others to call him that usually so he tells others to call him Griffin. Age: 17 years [has actually been living for 60] Gender: Male Species: Vampire Crush: Open Dating: No one currently. Personality: Somewhat unstable due to his past, he could erupt at any moment if angered enough. He has respect for humans, though doesn't believe in the 'vegetarian lifestyle'. He can be a hothead sometimes, but if you really get to know him, you'll see he's a mess and a disaster inside. His past has completely destroyed him. To the right person he could be kind and caring all the time like he used to be, but for now that's never even a possibility. ~more to be revealed in rp~ History: Griffin used to be the talk of the town. He had the hottest girlfriend too, but he didn't date her just because of that. He actually loved her. He had been an honest, sincere guy, and one day a vampire came in to rain on his seemingly perfect life. He turned his girlfriend into a vampire and commanded her to kill him. Due to just the burning pain everywhere, his love didn't even know what she was doing. She attacked Griffin, changing him into a vampire too. In this entire accident, while he was transforming, the original vampire killed his girlfriend, his best friends, and left him with nothing. Griffin was shattered. He killed anyone and everything in his past and was nothing but a murderer by the time he should have been 37, yet remained 17. It was there that he met a witch who was willing to propose a deal. She would charm a chain necklace and give it to Griffin to keep the sunlight from harming him, if he promised never to kill anyone in the town again. Griffin didn't want to agree, because he wanted to kill all the humans so badly, but decided that protection from the sun was worth it. He took the charmed necklace and left the town. Along his travels he met a very new werewolf, who's name he remembered as Zac Chase. Realizing it was a full-moon, Griffin decided to quick scaring the werewolf and high-tailed it out of their by the time the wolf half was all he could see. He never saw the guy again. Now he has just arrived as a new kid. He decides to go to school and meets very unusual 'humans' on his very first day... Appearance: Personal Description: N/A Extra: His chain necklace keeps him from burning in the sun.

Ooc:// I'll start if you don't mind ~~
Bcc:// Light slowly crept through the circular window above Amber Rodier's bed. The piercing sound of an alarm clock made her groan and she rolled over, smacking the top of the clock to make it shut off. She turned over again and covered her face with the pillow. The first day of school, what a chore. She could smell the familiar scent of coffee brewing downstairs and the creak of the air conditioner coming on and off. Amber pushed the covers off herself and crawled out of bed. She pulled on her new, red and tan tank top and dark skinny jeans. She grabbed some black socks and pulled on her new, converse sneakers. Opening the door to her bedroom, she felt a draft of cold air coming from the attic overhead and stepped into the bathroom.
She groaned again and brushed through her matted hair. Getting ready for school was defiantly not one of Amber's favorite things to do. After putting on her usual face of makeup, she grabbed her school ID - attached to a simple, white lanyard- and swung it over her neck. IDs were a rule at the school. Must be worn at all times on the school given lanyard. Amber rolled her eyes, thinking of what other stupid rules the school would come up with next.
Ashlyn Buchanan was already at school by the time Amber woke up. She was always early to school, either helping teachers get ready for their first period classes, or, since it was the first day, scooping out her classes and getting familiar with her schedule. Her ID jingled on her lanyard as she walked up the stairs, heading for her math classroom. She stumbled on the top step and scrapped her hand on the tile.
She checked her watch, 8:00am, students should be arrive now. Ash stood at the balcony and leaned over the railing, waving at familiar faces and saying hello every once in a while. Some say that Ash is too nice, but actually, she just has no intention of ever being on someone's bad side. She wasn't on some people's good list either. She had a tendency to lust for competition. When someone had better handwriting than her, she changed her handwriting to be better. When someone had a better haircut than she did, she got a new hairstyle. It was just her way to doing things. Some people thought she was stuck up, and they may be right. But to most people. Ash was a good friend to have.
She checked her watch again, 8:12, and headed towards her locker. She had French 3 first period, and intended on being perfectly punctual to every class. It was one of her new school year resolutions.

Zac got up from his small sized, twin bed and ran a hand through the slick, messy hair on the top of his head. He groaned, thinking what a bother it'd be to go to school once again. Though, thoughts ran through his head leading him to finally come to certain thoughts. It couldn't be all bad. Last time he went to school, he had had friends to talk to. Maybe now he wouldn't be so lonely anymore. He wouldn't have to fend things off on his own. A silent wish came across as a thought but he quickly shoved it off. Could he find someone to tell his secret to? No. That wasn't an option. People would either cower and scream, revealing him to every human in sight, or they would silently breathe the fear and try to kill him out of pure instinct. That would only end badly.
He shook his head and walked out the door with a simple, dark gray t-shirt and dark blue jeans. His sneakers were almost as black as his hair, but could be considered a grayish color if you looked at them long enough.
Griffin shoved around his house, wondering what he could do. The night before had been a blast. Killing five people still hadn't satisfied his thirst enough to get him to not continue, however, he was able to keep locked down until morning. He was getting so bored at this point he wanted to go to school again. He hadn't wanted to go to school in almost 60 years. Not since he was human and was the talk of the town.
It could be an interesting idea, though. Maybe he'd even find a few humans to trick and lead them somewhere dark so he could kill them too. With a grin, he picked up his leather jacket and slid it over his shoulders. White a white shirt under, black jeans, and black shoes, he looked very... how would a normal human put it? Cute? Handsome? Whatever the case, he cracked the door, slid through it, and closed it shut after his body passed.

Amber stepped up the staircase that lead into the school. She looked up at the clear blue sky, already missing summer. Even though it hadn't officially ended yet, school still killed the summer spirit. She pushed through the pale, rusted green metal doors with a plaque that stated, "Bearmont High School - Founded 1918". Amber remembered last year, when she was a freshman. So ready to get into highschool, so ready to grow up. But this year, only two years into highschool, and she was over it. The maroon and white tiles that littered the floor made a familiar pattern that strangely comforted her. She walked past a staircase with another plaque that stated, "Senior Stairwell". The stairs were all labeled you see. One for seniors, one for juniors, and so on.
The fourth floor was for seniors, third for juniors, second for sophomores, and first for freshmen. Each designated stairwell only took you to the designated floor - so if you tried taking the senior staircase to get to the sophomore floor, you wouldn't be able to. A little confusing to new students but Amber knew the Sophomore staircase was located on the far side of the school. She finally reached the stairwell labeled, "Sophomore Stairwell" and climbed up the steps. She spotted her locked, 209, right away and quickly entered her combination.
Ashlyn was stuffing books into her bag when she saw another girl come up to a locker near hers. The girl ignored her and focused on entering her combination rather than noticing Ash at all. Not bothered by this, Ashlyn resumed stuffing books and school supplies in her bag. She checked off a list in her head, four class periods before lunch - Biology, Algebra 2, World History, and French 3. She was relieved that she would be able to get through some of the hardest or boring classes first thing, and have some easy classes the rest of the day. Ash jumped as her phone jingled and the girl looked over at her, rolling her eyes.
She rolled her eyes back and read the text message from her mother before stuffing it back in her purse. Swinging her bag over her shoulder, Ash waved goodbye to the girl and walked off to Biology.

Zac continued walking along the narrow sidewalks until finally it seemed he was alone. Looking around quickly, he made sure of the fact and quickly morphed. He was in wolf form with a backpack around his shoulder blades. A funny sight for any normal human, but he was going to make certain no 'normal human' saw him.
He paced himself so that he was running at a pretty fast speed, darting across alleys, clearing cars that were in the way, and making great time to the building he was to learn in. Though, the jet black wolf was pretty sure he had learned enough from the past year he spent teaching himself how to use his abilities and how to survive on his own. He puffed out a breath as he suddenly saw the huge building with walls that had slightly chipped paint.
His form was still in one of the alleys, so he made sure to change back to his human one once he saw no one else was there. After that, he proceeded to walk into the school. Pushing back the door that was labeled "Bearmont High School - Founded 1918", he quickly made his way down the halls. He wasn't sure exactly where to go, and got confused when he got to the stairwells. Thankfully, though, he was able to use his keen eyes to spot the sign that mentioned it. Second level was for sophomores. Alright, then. He made his way up the stairs and quickly headed to his locker. There he saw a beautiful girl who he could only ever dream of, yet, she was standing here in front of him. His locker just so happened to be right besides hers. "Hey, I'm Zac." He gave a warm smile.
Griffin had been walking to school all this time, and didn't care if he was late or not. It's the experience, not the rush, he told himself, though it was too confident in tone. It wasn't long before he was met with the same door the others had gone through. "1918, huh? A few years before my time..." he thought about it then laughed. "Wow this school's older than me." He said to himself, letting his thoughts come aloud. He quickly made his way up the stairs to the sophomore level, having no trouble in the least finding it, surprisingly. His locker wasn't too far off from some kid with black hair and another girl who was blonde. He studied them closely, wanting to know more about them. He tuned his ears to listen and his eyes to watch.

Amber watched the other girl walk off and slowly raised her hand to wave goodbye, but the girl had already turned around and was striding down the hallway towards the Biology room. She almost jumped as a voice sounded behind her. Amber turned and acknowledged the boy with black hair that had greeted her. "Hello, there. I'm Amber" She answered with a smile. She then noticed that his locker was right next to hers. What had he said his name was...Zac? Yes, Zac. She studied him closely and got a weird feeling, as though she was nervous but excited at the same time.
"Oh, sorry. I don't mean to be rude but - you seem familiar..." Amber wondered if maybe she had met him before and that was why she had this weird feeling. Suddenly, red streaks formed in her hair, giving her a strawberry blonde color and she didn't seem to notice. The streaks were quite obvious and made her look...what was it...different?
Ashlyn pushed open the heavy wooden door that lead into the classroom. She could hear the many excited voices of students greeting one another and getting back together with each other. She spotted a few people she recognised from last year and sat at their table. There were five tables in the room with four students at each table. She listened as one of the girls was lelling a story about what she did at her summer camp - but her mind kept tracing back to the girl in the hallway. She couldn't put her finger on it, but something about her was...different.
Ash checked her watch, 8:45, fifteen minutes until classes started. She excused herself from the table and walked out into the hallway towards her locker. She saw the blonde girl, and two boys, one talking to her and the other seemed to be listening from a little ways off. Ash walked down the hallway and stopped at the water fountain, not taking her eyes off the three.

Zac nodded, suddenly thinking maybe he knew this girl from somewhere. Did he? No, it was impossible. His mind kept wandering further off from reality, thinking maybe everything he had been taught was impossible was in fact possible After all, a bit more than a year ago he had thought that werewolves didn't exist and here he was this day and moment a werewolf himself. He shook off his thoughts.
"Amber? That sounds like a beautiful name." He gave another smile. Looking around he tried to find something to say. Though he felt a pair of eyes on him, he decided it was probably nothing and continued searching for sentences. "So, am I the only new kid around here? Cause you seem to know your way around," He observed.
Griffin suddenly felt a pair of eyes on himself. All this time he had been the one wavering and watching, but now, as he turned to close his locker, he felt someone else becoming the watcher. The wood from the brim of the locker weakened him, though he tried not to show it. To the watching girl, though, it would be fairly obvious something was going on between the teen and the dead tree bark. Griffin tried to search for where the source of this feeling was coming from.
After looking around through various groups of teenagers, sophomores, he finally found someone by the water fountain who seemed focused on nothing but him and his original 'victims'. Well, that's what the vampire called them, even if he wasn't necessarily going to kill them. Watching them like prey was enough to earn them the name, in his mind.
Still, he gazed upon the blond girl. Something seemed off about her. She seemed... strange, but enticing at the same time. He didn't approach here, that wasn't his style, but instead stayed right where he was. If she really was the one keeping an eye on the three, she'd see in two minutes flat out that Griffin was now studying her. His crystal blue eyes stayed locked onto her face, figure, and eyes. They didn't leave. The pools of blue had a stunning brightness to them, a kind of glare that was unnatural. And every so often, they glinted red. You had to look extremely close to notice the hints of vampirism hidden beneath those irises, but little did he know it wouldn't be long before Ashlyn and the others discovered his closely guarded secret...
The feeling it gave to just see his face was one of almost broken evil. It seeemed to be that way at first, unless you looked closer and took more time to see it.

Amber stared blankly at him for a moment, before shaking her head and processing what he had asked. "Thanks," She replied with a smile, "This school is a little hard to get used to, but once you get the hang of it it's real easy. I can show you aro-"
She stopped abruptly as she realized that someone was listening to their conversation. She felt the burning sensation of being watched and looked around - feeling the sensation ease after a moment. She then realized there was a girl, the one whose locker is right next to hers, at the water fountain who was watching their every move. She failed to notice Griffin - and turned back to Zac. "I don't think this is an A-B conversation anymore..." She nodded towards Ashlyn.
Ashlyn cursed to herself when Amber looked her way. She was never good at eavesdropping - so she turned her head away and caught a glimpse of Griffin staring at her. She jumped at his ice cold eyes and stood, frozen, for a moment before taking a few steps toward him. Ashlyn had never seen or met Griffin before, so she guess that he must be a new student at Bearmont High. A jumble of freshmen ran by, confused by which floor they were one, and paraded down the stairwell. Rolling her eyes, Ash came up to stand directly in front of Griffin, extending her hand.
"Hello there, I'm Ashlyn. Most call me Ash, though."

Zac was a bit caught off guard when Amber seemed to stop in the middle of her sentence. He turned to see what she was looking at and saw Ashlyn right away. Amber had caught her in the act of eavesdropping. "No kidding," he said, agreeing. Though, Ashlyn seemed to figure out they had spotted her and moved on to talk to someone else. As she walked, Zac's eyes were focused on her. Where was she going? He was curious to know.
The second he saw that figure he panicked. Could it possible be... the vampire from so many months ago... back here? He began hyper-ventilating at the very thought this vampire could recognize him and murder him. Though, another thought passed through him and refused to leave. What if he came back because he knew Zac was here already? What if he came back with the knowledge?
Zac's breathing wasn't going to become steady anytime soon. He suddenly got nervous that he may change from the pure terror of this day and moment. He completely forgot about Amber by his side too. He was too caught up in everything.
Griffin, however, had no idea of Zac's presence. He was too busy trying to conceal himself from the 'human' who came towards him now. "Ashyln, huh?" You could hear the intensity in his voice. He was trying so hard to keep his eyes from flashing red, yet it was impossible to get it to stop. It was natural for a vampire who had been so evil in the past. Besides, the kills he made the night before were still brewing in his system. They were causing the flashes to become even more frequent than they already are. It was only a matter of time before Ashlyn figured it out.
For a moment, he considered trying to control her thoughts, but eventually thought better of it and looked away. He made sure not to make eye contact if possible. "I'm... Griffin." He paused. "Gold." He flicked his eyes at her to see her expression, then was going to glance back. Big mistake. His blue eyes suddenly turned the color of the blood he harvested last night. He hissed under his breath as he felt the familiar bloodlust gripping him. He was about to grip his throat when he realized Ashlyn was still there. He tried his best not to look at her, but if he left now she'd be suspicious as ever. Ugh. He thought, annoyed at his position right now.

Amber's eyes followed Ash's every footstep toward Griffin and watched as she began to start small talk. She rolled her eyes and suddenly froze, looking horrified at Griffin. His eyes, which had been icy blue a moment before, now shone scarlet and pure evil. No... It can't be... vampires don't... Thoughts raced through Amber's mind and she saw the blue color restore herself. Must be a trick of the lights, right? She looked up at the many lights that lit up the hallway. She then heard the sound of fast, shallow breathing and turned to Zac.
"Zac! Are you alright?!" She grabbed his arm with her hand and noticed he was staring at Griffin with the same horrified look Amber had when she thought she saw the red in his eyes. "Zac, it's just the lights..." She tugged gently on his arm.
Ashlyn smiled at Griffin, "That's an unusual name, I like unusual names." She blinked and stepped aside as a student walked in between them. Then, when she looked back at Griffin, she saw his eyes had changed. They were red, like blood, and full of evil. Her jaw dropped and she took a shaky step back. She remembered that color... It was in a book she had read once. A book about vampires.
Ash caught her breath and opened her eyes, but his were still blood red. She had heard about vampires before, some sightings and rumors that they really did exist. She had never actually thought about it, but was it a possibility that vampires really did exist? She took a step closer, knowing it was stupid to get closer to a vampire with red eyes. But what if he wasn't a vampire, and he just wore contacts? Ash tripped as she took another step forward and stuck her hand out, to grab onto Griffin's arm if she fell. But her arms went right through him, as though he were a ghost. Or as though she, was a ghost.
Ooc:// Amber and Ash don't know of their powers yet ~

Zac couldn't speak clearly, but as soon as Amber took him by the arm and started tugging it gentle, he shook his head. It couldn't be... it couldn't... He took another look before answering the girl's question. "He's the same vam-" He stopped himself mid-sentence. Was he crazy? If he said he knew Griffin was a vampire, that would only make his situation worse. First off, he'd have to come up with a lie on why he knew Griffin was something other than human. Second off, he'd be hunted down by the very vampire he spoke of for letting out his secret. Though, the words were spoken. If Amber had any thoughts about the vampires, and she had obviously shaken them off due to her statement about the lights... she certainly would believe it now. Zac had basically given away the information.
What should he do? He just said, "It's not the light. Never the light... it's the dark..." He couldn't control his sentences. He was giving out more and more information just because of the pure shock of it all.
Griffin tried to restrain himself from sucking Ashlyn clean of her blood in front of so many people. That wouldn't be too smart. Instead he just kept himself occupied with the struggle of keeping his eyes their human color... But as he was getting his mind off of her blood he suddenly noticed she tripped and fell right through him. He raised an eyebrow and his eyes took on a slightly confused expression. What the hell? He asked himself. He knew passing through solid objects or having solid objects pass through him was not one of his ablities that came along with vampirism. That kinda thing was like a ghost power. Wait... this chic's a ghost? He asked himself surprised, but in a more cool-toned way than shocked. He turned to see her on the floor and kneeled down slowly to get her hand. He put his hand on hers to try and grab it but it just went through.
"Uh, is there something wrong with your... tangibility?" He asked, trying to sound as human as possible, though the tone had his vampire edge to it. He wasn't really used to being nice to anyone. As he spoke, though, you could see razor sharp fangs. He wasn't aware of it, since he was trying so hard to keep his mind off revealing himself, so if anyone saw it'd be even more obvious of what he was. Thankfully, though, very few people lingered about in the halls now. Only a few others besides him, Ashlyn, and the two others remained. And one of them was the very same werewolf he had frightened at the time he had been a new. Griffin just hadn't remembered that yet. He didn't care enough to.

Amber stared at Zac, "Did you just...say that boy over there... He's a vampire? And you know him?" She shook her head, more red streaks forming in her hair from confusion. She gasped as she saw something strange in the corner of her eye, and turned her head quickly. Did that girl who had been eavesdropping on Amber and Zac's conversation just fall right through the vampire guy? She blinked and decided that she had probably just fallen next to him and it looked that way.
Vampires and people falling through one another...I must be tired. She thought and looked at Zac. His sentences weren't making sense and he was still in shock. Amber tugged his arm again, it seemed to pull him back into sense.
Ash gasped and looked at her hands. They looked solid, but when she reached for Griffin's hand, they just couldn't get a grip. "I-I don't know what's wrong with me..." She answered Griffin's question. Looking up at his face, she realized he was just too calm about this. She had just fallen directly through him, and he wasn't even shocked. A sudden surge of energy flowed through her arms and she reached for his hand again, this time grabbing it. Pulling herself up, she dusted off her legs and stared at him, then looked over at the other two who seemed to have seen the whole ordeal.
"W-what.." She whispered to herself and examined her hands again.

Zac shook his head. He tried to correct his mistake but it was too late. He sighed and took Amber around a corner. There seemed to be a gap between the lockers. "Listen, you have to promise not to tell anyone." His voice had a frightened edge to it, but it was slightly calmer now that Griffin was out of his sights. "I'll tell you what I know, but if you spread it to anyone both his and my lives will be doomed." His eyes held a certain air to them that would tell anyone he wasn't kidding around. This was real, serious, and dangerous information he was willing to explain. He needed to know he could trust the 'human' girl.
Griffin actually did seem to act more calmly than anyone else would, but he had seen things others hadn't and so that was probably the reason why. His eyes flicked red again but he managed to get them under control in another second. "I'm sure it was nothing," he breathed, trying to get Ashlyn's mind off of everything. Including the things she had seen about him. He really didn't know what else to say. He wasn't good at comforting others. At all.

Amber followed Zac around the corner where the the gap was, more red streaks covering her blonde hair. Her hair usually turned red when she was curious or adventurous. Her grandmother told her to tell people to asked about the color change, that she had just colored her hair. She had no explanation for the hair color changes, not yet.
Amber closed her eyes, trying to think about what Zac might be about to tell her, and opened them again. "I promise. I won't tell anyone." She whispered, looking around to see if anybody was nearby. Suddenly, the first period late bell rang, and Amber rolled her eyes. Late on the first day, she didn't really care, but it felt weird missing the first class of the first day.
Ashlyn glared at Griffin, clearly not going to forget what had just happened. "I fell through you! People don't just go falling through others on a regular basis!" Ash caught her breath and calmed down before speaking again, "I'm not going to turn this into some Twilight Saga confrontation but - I know what you are. The way you have been staring at the students in this school. It isn't very different from the way a lion would stare at an antelope. Her expression hardened and she took a step closer.
The hair on the back of her neck began to stand up, but Ash tried to hide her fear of Griffin. The late bell rang and Ash winced. She had never, never been late on the first day. But it seemed like today would be the day - probably of her death.
