I was wondering if any AS-ers were aware about something called a Multiple Intelligence test devised by someone called Howard Gardner. You can read more about it here. What it does is shows you the best way you learn;
- Linguistic intelligence ("word smart")
- Logical-mathematical intelligence ("number/reasoning smart")
- Spatial intelligence ("picture smart")
- Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence ("body smart")
- Musical intelligence ("music smart")
- Interpersonal intelligence ("people smart")
- Intrapersonal intelligence ("self smart")
- Naturalist intelligence ("nature smart")

I am 'music smart', what about you guys?

the result I got was Nature Smart and Myself Smart
it was kind of funny to do, I enjoyed it xD

In order:

1. Music Smart

The first two tied each other, the second two tied each other, and 6, 7, and 8, tied each other. :P

In the first test linked, on the resulting diagram, I got ranked the following way:

1. Nature Smart (Naturalistic): 21 (out of a possible 25)

2. People Smart (Interpersonal): 20/25 (this will doubtless shock and annoy those few members of this site who seem to think I have no people or interpersonal skills, which begs the question about them)

3. Picture Smart (Visual/Spatial): 19/25

4. Word Smart (Linguistic): 16/25 (I personally think the questions regarding this aspect were too limited to achieve an accurate score)

5. Myself Smart (Intrapersonal): 16/25 (I don't know...I answered that I knew myself very well...)

6. Body Smart (Kinaesthetic): 14/25 (weird...considering I took several years of martial arts)

7. Music Smart (Musical): 14/25

8. Number Smart (Logical): 11/25 (well, as far as math goes, I am wanting in this area...but for logic, which isn't necessarily the same as math smarts, I believe I rank higher)


My thoughts? The test isn't perfect...but it doesn't seem to account, in initial questions, for age range past 19 (just asks for various age groupings, and then "19 and up" as the last selection)...which I think is a weakness of the test.

Sparing the miscellaneous commentary, I think this test is fairly accurate for me, though the Interpersonal score seems a bit low. Who knows though?

I'd say that these are some pretty well-rounded results. I expected Numerical/Logical and Intrapersonal to be the top ones. I've always been a numbers guy who has a good grip on myself, my beliefs and my capabilities. My other results are pretty decent too, and musical being last isn't much of a surprise. I like to listening to music, but when it comes to performing or creating it, I often fall short. It's part of the reason writing is my hobby (along with my atrocious art skills).

Took the second test as the first one didn't work on my computer.

I think the results are rather accurate, especially the fact music took one of the first places - I can, very easily, hear if a voice doesn't go along with the music even if most of the other people can't quite catch that. Also, I can also hear it if a note is off. However, I myself can't play an instrument and my own voice is quite terrible, really DX
If any of you are surprised that linguistics took such a high place - well, English isn't my native language.
And, about people smarts being last - I completely agree. I'm so shy, it's extremely annoying.

This is what I got... I figured I'd be "word smart" since I'm a journalist and I love to write. Not really surprised by my results for "body smart" and "myself smart" either.

I did, however, think I'd do better in the "music smart" and "picture smart" areas... oh well.
