Just out of curosity from the members here of this forum, which TaleSpin comic in your opinion is the worst? (European comics won't count I'm sorry to say.)

The worst comic? That's a tough question...I still haven't read the majority of them, to be honest, and it's been a long time since I have read some.
And also to be honest, I don't find any of the US comics to be REALLY bad. (inferior to the series episodes, true, but not bad)

Let me read them again and I'll come back to you precisely, OK? :)

Although you specified no european comics, I can give you the reasons why I don't like the ones published in France : NO respect of the characters personalities. This is probably the most important to me. For example, in almost 2/3 of the french comics, Wildcat is acting "normal" (not "dumb/child"), Shere Khan is an overreacting character (which contrasts a lot to his calm and serious personality in the series) whose only goal is to buy Higher For Hire...

Why do you ask, do you intend to buy some?

My reasoning is that I'm looking for a bad TaleSpin comic to request for Linkara's Atop the Fourth Wall. A recap/review video series where he reviews and makes fun of bad comics. I'd like to request a bad comic of the series to the guy, but since I never read those; I'm looking for the worst TaleSpin comic fans have read.

He only reviews bad comics, not good comics. Not even European comics, however, he can make an exception but I imagine there should be English translations for him to understand? Speaking of which, do you have any English translations of the European comics?

I did translate one, that you can find here (along with many others) :

http://www.animationsource.org/talespin ... &nump=1201

The name is "Silence, on triche!"

There's probably worse than this one though...

Hmm, he can do two different issues if he wants to but do you know any comic more than 9 or 16 pages? 16 pages might be acceptable but he's very specific. But I suppose I could request that.

Let me know which US TaleSpin might seem lackluster please.

Wasn't that Khan's persona in the video games as well? I suppose it's possible these were character concepts from early revisions of the show, when merchandise is made for a new series sometimes they are handed early artwork and descriptions to work with that are sometimes altered before the final product is aired (look at the early Sonic comics based on the SatAm pilot for example).

Perhaps Khan was supposed to be closer to his Jungle Book persona, which was more on the lines of a hammy villain (compared the stoic lawful Khan of Talespin to the one that twiddles his whiskers and steals musical numbers in the Jungle Book).

The only comic story I've read so far is one where, from what I remember, Rebecca gets possessed by some sort of ancient charm. I should probably look more into the comics really.

True, that was the scenario of the Genesis/Megadrive game, and maybe the NES one (though described later in the game, I think)
So that may be the reason, yes. Or maybe people who didn't watch the show just assumed Shere Khan would act as a predator just like he did in Jungle Book, which translates to this when it comes to business...

Yes that one is the crossover with 5 different Disney Afternoon series, I forgot the name. (it's not on the site - yet)

It was uploaded on DA recently, not sure if it's there now.

The sad truth is that is how the business works a lot of times, creative design and writing is usually given to the most professional and experienced rather than who is most experienced with the product they are working with, it helps at times but overall it is the former that is most important, with source material and direction as to what they can and can't do (and pray it is authentic to the original product). I suppose it would kinda make sense to those who didn't watch the show as much, Khan was only a semi recurrer and compared to him, despite the obvious role changes, Baloo and Louie retained a lot more of their original characters that may lead them to think the same route was used for anyone else.

Truthfully I don't think that concept would have been bad to use, at least a couple odd occasions anyway that were written well with a good motive and balance into his normal persona. While I liked his moral ambiguity in the show I thought they made him a bit too benevolent overall, 'On A Wing And A Bear' is about the only time he is an actual bad guy, most of the others he is usually just a somewhat stern businessman.

I may just say this because I liked his pompous 'hammy villain' characterization in The Jungle Book as well though (I suppose Karnage rendered that role a bit redundant).
