This is basically a topic for you to share your love for a 'strange' and usually overlooked animal. Usually because it's dangerous or ugly or just too unknown. So lets give those animals some much needed love!

If anyone says wolves, I'm gonna smack them. Same with domesticated dogs and cats, horses, dolphins.. and other overrated and popular animals, okay? This is for underrated and misunderstood animals.

So, here's mine.

Sharks. They are probably my favourite animals. They're just so beautiful and cool, and really fascinating. People think they're evil mindless killing machines, but they're really not. And it's not fair. Especially as they get treated so awfully by humans. Look up 'shark fin soup' if you have a strong stomach.

I also love snakes, lizards, clownfish, hummingbirds, hyenas, red pandas, caterpillars, polar bears and maned wolves (who aren't actually wolves xD). <3

So, what about you? Any spider or moth lovers? Crocodile lovers? Fish? Please, share your underrated and overlooked animal love here!

To be honest, the human race itself is pretty underrated. Everyone tends to focus on the misfortune we've brought and how animals are more sympathetic than us. That is not true for the human race as a whole; look at all the wonderful things we've shaped this world into!
As for actual animals, I do love monkeys and gorillas.

African Wild Dogs < 33

These poor creatures are believed to be viscious, feral creatures who kill peoples livestock and attacks humans. The people who believe this are indeed very, very wrong. African Wild Dogs are generally very wary around humans and usually keep well away. But because of the myths people tell, they are being shot by local people and caught in traps :'c

They are also very intelligent and very much like our pet dogs in some cases. Their hunting method is also very affective, making them the most afficient hunters in Africa, 85% of hunts result in a meal for these animals because of this clever method of theirs. Basically, the have great stamina, and can run for hours at a time after prey, usually tiring them out making them easy to kill ^^

(If you want to find out more about them, check out my topic please 8D http://www.animationsource.org/board/african-wild-dogs-a-useful-guide-t30381.html?hilit=wild%20dog)

I've always loved Aye-Ayes and thought they were adorable, but everyone I talk to thinks they're creepy. Aye-Ayes are thought to be an omen bad luck, so they are often killed by the natives of Madagascar (even though killing them won't stop bad things from happening). They are highly endangered because of the destruction of the jungles they live in.

I would actually be able to understand sharks. While most people hate them, I actually like them. Though that isn't to say I'd jump in the water with a wild shark XD.

I actually think that wolves are a misunderstood animal favorite. Maybe not here in this site, but definetely in real life. I've spent the last three years of my life being teased because I loved these creatures, and I still continue even if people think it'd odd.
