Okay, I'll stop yelling over and over that those sparkle and vampire jewelery-wearing dogs are no way realated to Balto realities, because no one gives a darn about it. So it's not exactly this, but uhh... something a little different. Does anyone remember the time Balto takes place? It starts in 1925. It's 20's! - How can your character listen to something else than classical music and jazz. The begening of rock comes about 1940? - People didn't had headphones neither. - There were no subcultures, that means no emos/goths/punks/ and no man would use women cosmetics such as hair dye or eyeliner.

The whole sparkle dog/wolf/whatever thing contradicts reality. None of it makes sense. I don't even know how to explain what I mean, its so stupid...
I agree with you though. But Steet refuses to talk to any of his staff anymore, even about site issues. He doesn't even answer his PMs. Good luck trying to talk to him as a member, he blows US off and doesn't care anymore (its seems).

Draco> No I won't try talk to him because it's pointless. No one listens site critique here. I was just wondering because even before the sparkledogs rule, characters were kinds off-time. Just like Ginga OCs in Balto. I've already stared a point about this(Ginga is late 80's and 90's). I really wonder how Sofiel's Skyler can look like he looks while he is character to a story that takes part in 20's, where men looked more like:

Thats what many of us anti-sparkle rulers say too. But "that would be against creativity!" Hurrr...

Yea, I've glanced at that character, (Note this isn't an attack) But...thats rather, well....If that is what people want their characters to be....I'm afraid there isn't much to stop them from doing that... This seems more of a rant, moved.

These were for use by professionals rather than the public. There is an argument over who first had the idea to shrink down loudspeakers and attach them to our heads but the very earliest surviving examples date back to around 1910. These were far from the headphones we use today with very poor sound quality and no padding for comfort. They were used by radio operators and telephone exchanges. Read more: http://www.brighthub.com/computing/hard ... z189cHoVMnSo yea, they certainly weren't any freaking SKULLCANDY. They were copper-colored, dull, and uncomfortable, and you couldn't hear much from it anyway. Any kind of usable headphones until the late 1930's. How does a dog put those ON ANYWAY!? This is because there are no standards and limitations enforced. Plain and simple. There is not only NO logic whatsoever to a "sparkle" or "vampire" dog, or a dog with freakin' WINGS or other accoutrements, but that these outlandish and ridiculous concepts would have any connection whatsoever to even the fictional version of the Balto cartoon world, seeing as that world, fictional or not, DOES have its basis in reality, and the production designers took great pains to ground it (as much as possible) in the real world. There has to be a line drawn SOMEWHERE. Too much permissiveness on this site will drive it right over the deep end. And this sparkle dog ruling certainly gave it a good firm shove in that direction...

At this point we might as well allow anything because members whine over it.

Sparkle dogs...just no. I admit, I have one character that has small, purple triangles under her eyes. But I was like, 10 when I created her. The rest of her design is composed of completely natural colors, and I've been trying to give my characters a nudge in the more "realistic" direction.
As for the vampire dogs....I just never got the point of vampires. Sorry, still don't. They suck peoples blood, can't be in the sun...whatever. They were something created for horror movies. Not Balto Source.
I admit, sometimes it can be kind of fun to make a sparkle dog, just for the sake of it. But I agree, it has gotten out of control. The mods and members both have to do something about this before it gets worse.

We can't just make the rules. The source of this is Steet, and I'm sure he won't do anything about this. All he is doing is adding a filter so the those of us who don't like them don't have to look at them.
