Evanescence isn't nessaserily a Females band. But the lead singer (Amy Lee) is a female. An example of a female band is The Donnas. Or...the...whatever... But NightWish isn't either...cause there are guys in that band, but whatever...I'll post some with females anyways.
1.Evanescence
2.The Donnas
3.Avril Lavigne's band (yes...she DOES have a band but she only sings)
I can't think of anymore....

3. Heart
4. Pat Benatar
Yeah, me and friend were going to go see Benatar at a casino in Wisconsin, but we ran out of time. Darn, that would have been cool....

I don't really have a top five but I like Venus & Mars, Vixen (Female hair metal, imagine a girl Bon Jovi), and some songs by Metric and Doro Pesch/Warlock.

"Dancing On the Highwire" by Venus & Mars. You'll bound to love this song if you're big on Heart and Pat Benatar!

Oh yeah, how could I forget? Shonen Knife! It's like Puffy AmiYumi meets The Ramones with hilarious lyrics!
