I see what you're trying to say...
My opinion is; if you're gonna make linearts, make them for everyone to use...
Not only for your-so-called pack, and also try and make them paint-friendly...
Not everyone has Photshop...

It's irritating for those who'd like to use it and almost defeats the purpose of keeping it private by uploading it but it's fair enough I suppose.

All the linearts i decide are good enough to put up, I let anyone use o.o Why people put up linearts, and then don't let others use them, is very confusing. If you only want to let your pack members use it, shouldn't you send the lineart through PMs? And just cause it isn't paint friendly, doesn't mean the person who wants to use it can't use another art programme??

It's their art. They can do what they want with their art. Just because they create it doesn't mean everyone is entitled to it.

Like Sora-Kun said. It´s THEIR art, not everybody´s. THEY can do whatever they want with it and allow to use whoever they want. And if that´s really bugging you, then why don´t you just talk to the person about that instead of making this rant?

It is their work, they can show it in their gallery when they want. People on deviantart do the same, some of them make linearts for special people and post them, no big deal. And I think most people understand that when someone makes a lineart (render) for someone else, this person may not want everyone to use it. I don´t see a problem with that.

Its their art, they can do what ever they want with it, including on how they show it, privately or in public.

It's their art, they can do whatever they want with it. For the most part this private lineart is a request, so they put it up in their gallery. For the most part you can use it, you just have to ask them first.

I agree, its there work, they can show it however they want be it in a PM or on the site. Just because somebody creates a line art doesn't mean its free to use. You don't just go and take somebody's drawing, its always best to ask. If they are allowed its always good to give back some form of credit. If the creator said don't use it, then dont use its. Its considered stealing (or it is in my eyes be it line art or actual colored drawing).

Well said! And its true. Just because you can see it, doesn't mean its for you.

I believe it's kinda weird for them to post their linearts if they don't want others to use them, but I guess in a way, you have to think about their intentions for putting it up publicly. Don't get me wrong, I agree with the very first post and the ones that follow, but if you try and get behind their brains in a way, you could maybe see it like this:

Case A: They put it up very briefly until all their team or pack or whatever got it, then they were going to take it down, but it just so happened that you stumbled upon it before the team members could all get it.

Case B: It was only private, but they wanted feedback on the lines themselves

Case C (similar to case B): It was never a lineart to begin with, but simply some scraps that they never decided to color in and they just don't want anyone to use it for their own characters. Therefore, they only put it up for feedback or constructive criticism.

Case D: They're afraid of all the thieves out there, therefore they only allow those they trust to use the linearts. If they've never seen you before, or talked to you before, they probably wouldn't trust you at first unless they got to know you.

Those are only a few cases I thought of from the top of my head. Trying to think of what they may be wondering themselves is probably the best way to go about it, I think. If you don't bother to try and figure out why they did it, then why go ahead and say it's selfish?

I thought the point of making blank linearts is to use them with giving them credit?sounds kinda dumb to have private ones to me that is my thought though but it's their choice
