Some of you may have noticed that there is a little (maybe not so little) discussion about the fan-character rules is going. look here: http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en/questions/Vampire_Wolfs/133708.htmlor here: http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en/questions/Golden_fur/133709.htmlOr here: http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en/questions/Necklaces/133819.htmlanother one: http://www.animationsource.org/balto/en/questions/Why_an_english_person_created_her_own_ru/133888.htmlAnd I don´t think that´s the end, there´ll surely will be more of those questions to come. So to the point: Can anyone of you remember the time, not too long ago, where not-so-real characters where allowed? Did it affect the site in a bad way? (Okay I don´t mean the eye-burning sparkle dogs, they where too much) No. Everyone was allowed to be creative. We had FUN creating characters! But now, all fun is gone because some of our dear mods are a bit too picky with characters. Why? Why not going back to the old rules STEET, our big boss made up? Why need the mods to change them? Balto is a children´s movie, there is so many unrealistic stuff in all 3 of the movies. Why need we to create pure realistic characters? (As long as a fictional character can be "realistic") Just popping up questions about it won´t bring us the solution! We need to do something. And that´s why I made this topic. So how can we change the situation? Easy. Look above, there´s a poll. So if enough people vote we´ll get a result. If most people want not-so-realistic characters to be allowed, the mods should accept that. Remember, WE are the fans, we are the reason the site still exsists! So if the most of us want to get their creativity back the mods need to react. And okay, if the most people want to ban creativity from the site, all creative people need to accept that, but remember, creativity shouldn´t be banned!

I must say I'd like to keep our characters, the ones we created.
I vote yes - for creativity.

Long life to Steet and his rules, long life to the creativity and long life to all the members who can make characters who are not clones from Balto, Jenna, Aleu and the other characters from Balto movies. Or we can just continue to make the same character, I can't say how many Children Balto and Jenna have now, how many wolves are in the Aleu's pack ... Don't you think that it's more fun to make characters with our style ( I don't talk about the real sparkle dog ! Cause this is a sparkle dog http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§i ... g#/d2r1h32 not this http://hecatehell.deviantart.com/galler ... 8#/d2hwvvb ) Hecate is right, totally right. How many clones do we need? FREE the creativity!

Well, it sounds like a bunch of whining to me.
First off, since the creation of the Fan Characters section, there has never been any allowing characters that couldn't possibly exist in the Balto universe. So I don't know where you're getting this "time when not-so-real" characters being allowed thing.
If you can't make a character that can live in Nome 1925, where they don't have vampires/werewolves/scientific mutations of wolves/foxes then put it on a different animation Source. That's what they're there for.
1) A character can't be gold. It is physically and biologically impossible. There's no reason for them to be. Unless you mean gold as in BLONDE-FURRED then just say they're BLONDE, not GOLD.
2) No one makes their dog wear a necklace. A fancy collar is different. Accessories such as bracelets, broaches, hats, hair pieces are not seen in the Balto universe, so they shouldn't exist if you want to keep the fandom Balto-related.
3) Saying one can't be creative using Balto guidelines is uncreative in itself. And stupid.
There's no reason for anyone to whine on this subject, as we've said before. People just think the rules are too strict because they can't think of anything to make a character fit into a specific world. The rules wouldn't BE so strict if people wanted to make a Balto character which actually contributes to the Balto society instead of making their own thing inspired by something vampire-related. If you have a problem with fitting a square block into a triangular hole, then put it somewhere where its appropriate.
It's that simple. There should be no problems with the rules.
Edited: If the problem we're having is with clones of characters, well that's a problem with the creator's lack of imagination. I have a ton of characters, all of which are (altho old) different in their own way. I know more people who have no problem making something creative and staying within guidelines, than people who are just being lazy with their designs.
To an artist of any kind, boundaries often give us freedom, and if people can't use that to their advantage, then send them to deviantart where they can all flock together. They don't need to whine about this.

I'm a bite original and now it's just like if I was the one who start a new kind of sparkle ... Stop flame it, it's not my fault, flame the one who copy me! ( and by the way, Hecate is a vampire wolf in my comic, not here ^-^ ) Cat : A dog can't be red, it's physicaly impossible ...

These dogs aren´t that bright brick red like in the movie... So no, no dog can be so red.
