Label this as coming from my never ending curiosity. How big is your music library?
The simplest way, and what I most expect, is to go to your music organizer of choice (iTunes, Creative Labs Music Organizer, Windows Media Player) and post how many tracks you have.
Ever since I received my beloved 160GB iPod Classic, I've been obsessed with collecting music. To try to get as many great tracks as I can to fill up the space. Call me self-centered, but with my organization and wide taste in music, my iPod is a musical powerhouse with still a lot of room to grow.
iTunes shows me having 5,439 tracks, which equals 11.5 days of music at 25.87GB. With little bit of other media, my iPod shows 119GB free. XD
I'm very interested in what results this could bring. XD

Very interesting topic...
Knowing my Walkman is a 8GB, it holds a good bunch of stuff. But my library of music in CDs on the other hand, it is VERY big.
Im just surprised no ones replied to this topic yet, hats off to Rusty.

I knew there were people that haven't gone completely digital, but I didn't expect to find someone off the bat. XD Baltoluv. But that's ok. Makes the results more interesting.
By the way, Baltoluv, I was messing around with my iTunes, and it's averaging about 1500 tracks with in 8GB on my computer. Wow, thats interesting. My Walkman (if I remember right from the package) it can hold up to 1200 songs.

I've seen 8GB devices advertised with holding between 1200-1500 tracks.

Sadly at the moment the only music players I have are my laptop and the radio, XD. But hopefully that will change in a week or so because I'm supposed to be getting some sort of iPod.

I've seen 8GB devices advertised with holding between 1200-1500 tracks. It depends on the song size from what i've heard. I mean, if they were all 2-3 minute songs it could store more songs than if they were all 6-7 minute songs. That's crazy though, 160GB iPod? That's.... 40,000 songs. I don't think i've heard that many songs in my life. At the moment all i've got is a 1GB mp3 player of some sort. Well, it says 1GB on it but i put two Metallica CD's on it and it maxed out the space on it. I don't even know what it's called but the battery lasts all of 15 minutes so it's rather pointless to even have the thing. Haha.

Point is had. ^ I'm a big ol' sucker for setting the bar really high with personal media players, that way I don't hit a problem with running out of space. Plus, it'll last me a very long time before I need to replace it. That sucks though, but you know bigger small brand players arn't all that expensive now'adays

I know. I didn't even buy this one. My friend gave it to me because he got a smart phone and no longer needed it. I used to use it to listen to the radio but it's rather annoying how fast this thing dies. Lol. I would go out and get myself a decent one but rather difficult to buy something when you're literally broke haha =P
