Name: Trey
Gender: Male
Age: 3 years
Breed: Tamaskan Dog
Personality: Because of his slim figure, Trey usually is smart about picking fights. He knows he’s limited when it comes to that, although, if he’s threatened he isn’t afraid to bluff his appearance. He’ll act like a wolf just because he looks like one in order to get away from a possible fight. Though, people avoid him anyways just for that reason (even if he’s not trying to look like that) and because his appearance, though skinnier than average, is tough on is own. Trey’s pretty smart, and usually knows the difference between right or wrong, although sometimes he can’t tell which is which. He has trouble when having to make an important decision, because he’s grown to be a bit of a rebel due to some anger issues that developed when he was a puppy, but overall he’s friendly enough and kind at most times.
History: Trey was born somewhere in the pits of New York. He didn’t get to live a fancy life like most other dogs. He was forced to scrape off a living with his mother from the time his eyes, ears, and nose all opened together. It was very tough, and Trey’s mother had become so weak she could barely afford to stand.
When Trey was about 3 months old, a human male came and took the two struggling strays. He seemed nice at first, but everything changed just a day after they arrived in the shabby, broken up home. The man was troubled, and didn’t have anything or anyone to displace his aggression on. So, in turn, he started beating the two dogs he had saved. Of course, he hadn’t planned on doing this, but frustration and depression got the best of him, and was now making both Trey and his mother miserable.
Trey had grown very angry at the man, tired of his constant beatings and tired of not being able to do anything. He tried to stand up to him, but the dog’s figure combined with his still ‘in puppy’ stage of life was enough to knock him down every time he tried. So, Trey grew up just trying to cope every day. It was a grueling effort, and even to this day the dog is surprised beyond belief he was able to get through it without so much as a permanent bruise on his body. They all healed in time.
By the time he actually turned a year old, though, the pup was full grown, though still a bit young. His mother had become so frail that no more than a week after his first birthday, she died from the abuse. This sparked a flame in Trey’s head, and he both snarled and cried all night that day. He vowed to keep searching for a way out, even if it cost him a double beating every day.
The man’s madness continued as the pup kept aging, month by excruciating month. Trey had been endlessly searching for any possible way out: a hole in the fence, a door that was left open, even the window being left with a drift. Nothing gave him the chance. Then, one day the man came home with a new dog. This new dog, a bulldog, was huge compared to most of its breed. It was angry too, for the man hadn’t been careful of who he got it from, and mistakenly bought it from a past dog fighter who just wanted to be free of the dog.
This dog’s constant muttering and constant pushing and shoving threw Trey finally over the edge. The two were locked in a deadly fight that would have meant the end of the road for either one of them. Trey, knowing his disadvantages would stack up against him, but so enraged at everything that had happened, couldn’t stop. The bulldog ripped through his ear, and in that instant Trey’s anger faded momentarily. He realized he was playing tag with death and fled out the open window.
Fate had been thoughtful to him that day, leaving the window open when it never had been before. It had granted him his ear, which could have easily been torn off all together, but instead it left just three scars to forever remind him of his horrible past. Despite this, though, Trey couldn’t see how he was lucky. His bitterness had grown to be a huge problem. Any dog that came even to say a friendly hi, Trey would snap at. If a dog looked threatening, he’d use his own looks to appear as a wolf so he’d be left alone. He just couldn’t find happiness anymore. He’d wandered so far off without a destination that he had gotten in the midst of the entire state.
Walking along the edges of streets in New York City, in a part of town that wasn’t as bad as his birthplace, he was met with yet another man who wanted to take him in. The stray snarled and snapped, but still the man kept coming. Trey was caught off guard by this human’s behavior and stopped growling for just a few minutes. It was then that he realized this man probably wasn’t as evil as the other. He had a different feeling to him, a different aura. Besides, now that Trey was almost 2, he knew the difference between a good human and a bad one. Or at least, he thought he did. He decided to go with his instincts and trust the human.
He chose right. The guy had actually been on vacation, seeing the sights. When he came home, Trey was surprised to see all the snow and ice. He surprisingly took a liking to it. He eventually turned to the nice dog he used to be, though he still had issues when he was angry. He tried to shake his problems off, though, and eventually befriended many dogs in the small town of Nome, Alaska. His owner let him come and go whenever he pleased, since the two had such a strong bond, and Trey barked happily every time he met up with his friend. Though, he had grown a bit lonely, and tried to find another canine friend who could keep him company every day and who he could talk to and play with.
No sooner had he started his search then did he find Fiata. The two hit it off at first sight, and got along great. They became best friends in almost no time at all. For some reason, whenever Trey was around her, he could sense an aura of kindness. It mended his heart whenever he was with her. He never found himself having problems with anger when he saw her face. He started to fall in love. One day at the age of 2 ½, he came to their usual meeting spot, where they always came to start off the day playing and talking, and was very surprised to see Fiata not there. His soon gentle heart hardened again when he jumped to conclusions and thought maybe she had found someone else to hang out with. He stalked off, disappointed at himself, and sad that he had managed to lose such a great friend.
Though, Fiata had merely had complications that day. Trey never knew. Months passed by, and in 3 more, the Tamaskan would turn 3. Lying alone in the house, with his master out working, Trey began to think. He remembered his horrible past and shed a few tears thinking about the mother he lost, and the father he never knew. He sniffled at the thought of never seeing Fiata again, and when he saw her face as a picture in his mind, he knew he had to find her again. He knew he had to tell her about his feelings.
So he ran off in search for her. He searched for days, weeks, and right when he was going to give up, the hand of fate played nice again. It showed him Fiata, wandering aimlessly around town, alone.
Trey ran to her, his face breaking into a grin. “Fiata!” he cried out. He was so happy, he couldn’t contain the joy filling his broken heart. He met her with a cuddle and when she was surprised at this, he told her how he felt about her. She had always known about his past, or parts and chunks of it at least, from their many talks almost a year earlier, but she had never thought about him and her together before. She was delighted at the idea, and a month after Trey’s third birthday, they became mates.
When the two came home after the profession, Trey convinced his owner to keep Fiata too. It wasn’t that hard. All he had to do was cuddle Fiata lovingly to show how he felt about her. That alone was enough to convince his thoughtful owner to keep her too, since she had been a stray before.
Trey is a lot happier than he used to be, but he still does have anger issues when Fiata’s not around. When it comes to her pups from another male, he’s happy to see them, but doesn’t really have a specific bond with any certain one. He’s just happy to be with Fiata, and if anything happened to her, he’d be devastated. He’d never ever be able to heal again.
Parents: Unknown
Mate: Fiata

Other: His chain is a gift from his owner as a token of their bond, and it also serves as his collar since not many dogs in Nome have that kind of identification around their neck.
Balto Related: His mate, Fiata, is the daughter of Balto and Jenna (second litter).

Also, I hope you don't mind that I wrote his bio like this before realizing the extra parts. I added how he feels about Fiata and her pups in the history, though. Also, sorry it's so long but I finally got my inspiration back! XD
