Alright, heres a tech term lesson out to everyone:
Trojans are a form of malware (yeech, they bite). They often come from un-certified sites, or downloads.
Now here is the lesson: Be careful where your hand on the mouse lands you. One incy mistake and WHAM! your computer is a goner and eventually will crash. Its happened to me--twice!
If anyone has a interesting story, speak your mind.

I'm not really sure if this topic is needed. I think everyone knows what a trojan or a virus is...

Trojans are harmless. Trojans are hardly harmless, especially if you get one on your computer. When browsing the internet, use common sense. Thus, makes it almost impossible to get a virus (obviously some things are unavoidable)

Second lesson. Install an anti virus, Comodo firewall, and ad-aware. These programs can ensure your computer will be safe. I have: Avast, malwarebytes, spybot search and destroy, Comodo firewall, and ad-aware. Oh, and McAfee site adviser. Avoid using Internet explorer and Use firefox (Like myself.) or any other well known browser. Use common sense. And ALWAYS install your windows updates!

Oh yes. Get a Mac. I was going to say that. Even Macs can get viruses, it just isn't as common.

ESPECIALLY the part about Internet Explorer. But the absolute best way to not get a virus is to get a mac. Which is what I'm planning on doing as soon as my pc dies. Mac for the win.

I do have Avast now, but it was hard to find at first cause' a lot of them prompt you to pay upfront like Norton, and Trojans CAN BE harmful if the computer is untreated. At the time my crash occurred, I did not know Avast or really any free antiviral program existed. And thank you starsky for the backup, many are not computer geeks.

Please don't pick on people guys.
-----------------------
I had NO idea what a trojan was at first. XD I just wondered why my computer was being all weird. D:
I echo everyone else is saying get an anti-virus! I'd add onto that; try and avoid Norton. The discs you buy from shops are ok but if you get a pop-up telling you Norton has flagged a harmful virus and you must install Norton to get rid of it; do NOT download and install it! I got that once and like many instantly worried and downloaded it - it's a scam and is actually a nasty virus disguised as an anti-virus. I've found AVG to be a good anti-virus, though I bought the full-version rather than staying with the free version - you get much better protection.
