---Introduction---

This will be based of the Inheritance trilogy, (namely Eragon)

So yes, you will need some knowledge of the book beforehand, or really, even the movie. It still gives you the basic idea.

But this doesn't take place in Alagaesia, this takes place here, in the present as well, so you don't need vast knowledge about anything in the book. Just an understanding.

(Disclaimer: I, quite obviously, do not own the Inheritance trilogy...I would be quite wealthy if I did.)

---Plot---

While dragons thrive now in Alagaesia, their numbers are quite depleted here.

It is rare that you should find an egg, and even rarer that it shall hatch for you. A big reason for this is simple; no one believes in the myths and legends of dragons anymore. But when three young friends stumble upon eggs, one a shimmering green, the other a burning red, the last an iridescent yellow, they began to believe. Their suspicions are only confirmed when the eggs crack, revealing three young dragon hatchlings...and the future looming over them like storm clouds on the horizon.

Enemies are gathering, mainly criminals who have seen dragons before. They want power, and when they learn about the young Riders, they decide they would be an easy target.

With a secret to hide and secrets to learn, the three set out on an adventure that will forever change their lives.

---Details---

~Because it is set in the present, and not in Alagaesia, the power of the ancient language has been lost. Riders can't use magic because of this.

~The criminals will mainly be secondaries, but feel free to make one if you want.

~This is the age of guns, etc. No swords or bows...it wouldn't make alot of sense, not in this time period.

Description: Casey has deep, hazel eyes, and dark hair that resembles black at times. She has a spray of freckles across the bridge of her nose and the tops of her cheeks, that almost seem to blend in with her tanned complexion. She has an athletic build, if a bit short, which hides her surprising clumsiness. She often has a faraway look in her eyes, and a smile lurking on her lips.
Personality: Casey can often space out, day-dream, etc. when she is bored, or when she feels like it. This happens quite frequently, and though she is fairly smart, she can act practically deaf, as most of your words will go right out the other side of her head. When she isn't lost in her own world, she is talkative, friendly, and helpful, though she usually messes things up more than she helps, due to her clumsiness. She may act mature around adults, but thats required. She still retains many child-like attributes, such as a tendency to believe in myths and legends. She secretly always wanted something magic or exciting to happen to her, or both, if possible, even though she isn't the bravest.

Description: Jenta has deep green scales, a color like the pines underneath sunlight. She has intelligent eyes of the same color, if a shade darker. Her wings are incredibly pale, and almost translucent under the light. She has a neat, compact body that is a bit small for a dragon, but perfect for her Rider.
Personality: Jenta is caring, in her own way. She has no qualms about killing enemies, and will fiercly protect the ones that she loves. She can seem not very sensitive at times, but she only acts that way when she thinks she's doing whats best, and arguements will only get in the way.
Fears: She hates small spaces, but can stand them if there are windows, exits, etc.

Description: Jake has dark brown hair, grey-blue eyes and slightly tanned skin. He has a strong build, but not too strong (no big muscles or anything like that). Jake is tall, just under 6 foot.
Personality: Jake is a quiet type of boy, he likes to keep to himself most of the time. He doesn't have many friends, so when Scythe hatches to him, he is both surprised and glad. Jake, although quiet, is rather kind and can be sympathetic. (I'll edit more when I get the time to).
Fears: Lightning and thunder.

Role: Red dragon, good guy.
Description: As a hatchling he is small and a bright sort of red, and his under belly is a light grey. As he grows older, his scales take on a more deep crimson colour and the light grey slowly turns into black. He has spikes running from the top of his head all the way down to his tail. His tail has one crystal-shaped spike and there are two large horns on his head. Whisker-like skin sticks out from his brows. He breathes a crimson fire (The colour of the fire, depends on the colour of the dragon. Just like Thorn breathes red fire and Saphira breathes blue fire..And I'm sure Glaedr breaths a golden flame, I haven't read Eldest in a while) and the skin on the inside of his wings is dark grey. He is kind of like Thorn in a way. Small black markings are on his neck and there are even some on his back. His talons are razor-sharp and fangs stick out either side of his muzzle just like Glaedr, Saphira and Thorn on the front covers of the books.
Personality: He is much like Jake in a way, but is more confident and a bit more loud. He isn't afraid to speak his mind, even if it's mean or insulting. Scythe is sometimes playful, and sometimes likes to annoy people he doesn't like. (Will edit more when I get the time).

Only one thing; there isn't like, a specific "type" of dragon, like ice, fire, etc. Sorry for not clarifying that earlier.

Yes, Saphira is blue. But she isn't in this roleplay, and there can only be three hatchlings whose colours have already been decided. Yellow is like Glaedr, Red is like Thorn and Green..Well, there isn't a green one in the inheritence triology yet, but I have heard rumors that there will be a green dragon in the fourth book. Most likely that green dragon is one of the three remaining dragon eggs that Galbatorix has. I wonder who it might hatch to...

Scout pretty much explained it. Once again, sorry for the confusion.

Wikipedia. Also at the end of book three it says on one of the last pages "The story will continue and conclude in book four". So, looks like Paolini is gonna write another Inheritance book. Can't wait 'til the fourth and final book.

This will take place right before they find the eggs; they will each find their own dragon seperately, as a note. But they'll all learn of eachother's soon.

Casey jerked upright, startled out of her daze by an obnoxious sound that persisted, even though she longed for it to stop. Right before it ended, she realized it was the final bell! Excitement coursed through her; it was the beginning of Fall Break, which was almost as monumentous as summer vacation, even if it didn't last as long. She leapt out of her seat, hastily grabbing her books, and stuffing them into her bag. Alot of her classwork got crumpled, but she didn't care. She would worry about lost work when school re-opened in a week.

As she practically ran out the front doors, she saw a few people hugging their teachers, telling them goodbye. Even though she had a few treasured teachers she loved herself, she was in to big a rush to stop...the doors and halls would soon become clogged with people, making it virtually impossible to get out of until it was already pretty late.

Casey dashed outside, her hazel eyes sparkling with excitement and anticipation; she always loved vacations. They were such a welcome change from the accustomed, monotonous routine of the rigor of school and homework. She leaned against the railing of the steps that led down towards the sidewalk, waiting for her friends, Jake and Brian.

I would love to join this RP (I loved the movie Eragon ^^) but I must ask a question. Since the three riders are taken already, can I make a character that is also a rider? But a little more experienced than the other three? Like his dragon is almost done growing when theirs finally hatch or something but he is still not as experienced as most other dragon trainers are?

Normally I would refuse, as the chances of this happening are miniscule...inredibly miniscule.

But I have seen your roleplay, and I know you'll be a great asset to it, so I will accept. Please post your biographies soon so I can add you to the front page...I can't wait to see them.

Personality: Damian can be careful with words. He always makes sure never to say anything that could be used against him. But on the other hand, he can be unsure about making desicions. The fact is, sometimes he can be stable, while other times he can act completely reckless. No one is entirely sure why that is, but if you get to know him, you'll come to find out in some way why he is the way he is.
Fears: Losing his dragon, seeing the people he fleed from almost four years ago
Extra: Fleed from Alagaesia when he was 13 years old because he was being hunted for finding a mysterious black egg. This was at a time when they were trying to revive the dragons the most. His parents told him to keep it under all costs and never to let anyone get it. They had a feeling it would hatch under his watch. When he was about 14, the egg finally hatched. He's been learning the ropes of training and riding his dragon, and even though he isn't fully experienced, he knows enough to get by.

LOL, I originally was putting his name as Jake (Damian) but then saw that the name was taken and was like AWW DANG XD

(There was one part of the history I had to consider...about how he ran away from Alagaesia...but if there are dragon eggs on Earth, then I suppose they would have to be connected. My only condition is he won't tell anyone about Alagaesia. That would be...complicated, to put it in the least.)

As soon as the bell rang, Jake practically leaped out of his seat and bolted for the door. "Walk, please Jacob!" He heard his teacher call, but he was already out the door. Jake, although quiet, was undoubtedly excited. He simply couldn't wait to hang out with his friends Casey and Brian. As soon as he was half way down the hall, he spotted Casey leaning against the rails and increased his speed a little. Once he was outside he slowed to a walk and, puffing slightly, walked over to Casey. He put a hand up. "Hey Casey." He said, his voice was quiet but not as quiet as it normally was. "Excited?" He asked. "I simply cannot wait. Staying up late, watching a lot of tv, playing xbox, going to the park. Even though it is only a week."

Jake looked around then looked up at the door where, very soon, a whole flock of kids would be rushing out as if it were a burning building. He smiled to himself at the thought then placed his hands in the pockets of his jumper and leaned against the rail next to Casey. Obviously he didn't say much, he was just that kind of person. A shy, unconfident and a keep-to-himself kind of person. "Wonder what's keeping Brian. He's usually really quick to get out." He mumbled, then went back to being silent again.
