I've been told a day or two ago, that now EVERY fan image/drawing MUST include a character from the site.
But it looks like some members are not included in this rule, because I saw newest drawings that didn't contain a character.

I think its the system that does it sometimes, because I always see the same message, kind of like the automatic deactivating of characters after 1 month if there are no features. And other mods have been going off it.

I personally don't think it should be mandatory, especially if the character isn't one that would be allowed in the section anyway. That just makes it impossible to send any fanart/images. It's just to link any fanarts to the character's page anyway. If the owner doesn't want that, they don't have to use it. Though I do like to see any fanarts made of my characters so I request anyone making one to assign the proper icon. But thats just me.

The real reason for the icon features is to link any official fanart/images/etc to the character page since there's the ratio.

I'll have to bring it up for the other fanart/images mods.

I'm not sure who told you that but that is not a rule on AS.
The only rule regarding official movie characters is that you must submit 1 piece containing an official character per x amount of non-official character art.
(For example, on Spirit Source it's 1 official Spirit art per every 4 non-official.)

The same happened when I sent a recolor featuring official Balto character and OC that doesn't have page here.

Despite this, some new drawings are getting away with this rule.

This confusion has been going on for a few weeks if not months, so I'm surprised to still be seeing complaints about it! Come on guys!

The fan images have had the character icon thing for a while, but the fan ART section never had it. steet specifically said a while ago he didn't want it to be for the fanart section because it would cause confusion and basically prevent artists from putting up any work besides that of characters who have pages.
If you want to post a lineart? No out of the question.
Just a wolf shaded in nicely? No out of the question.
A portrait of your dog you wanted to share? No out of the question.
Balto's father whom doesnt have a page? No out of the question.

wehat's with those darn photo backgrounds? Are rules between moderators finally set or not? Because another mod said that the photo is allowed if it's yours, but I think that still some will say that any photo is allowed(I don't even ask why because you will never ever answer just changing topics or make excuses)

Every mod seems to have their own set of rules that they go by, and that was suppose to settled. Steet sent out a PM about 2 months ago clearing up the rules. I guess no one cared to listen or something. Photos are NOT allowed to be used.
