Do you find that when you try to leave the site you are compelled to return for a reason beyond your knowledge or say you go on vacation without computer access and you find yourself needing to get onto the site? Has this ever happened to you? Share your stories.

Each time I returned (this makes the second time, after nearly nine months of a break), I did so because I actually really enjoyed discussing the real history of the 1925 Nome serum run, and because I felt (and still feel) that I have things to offer. What drove me away each time was flaming, politicking and pettiness from certain very FEW people. People who made this site very UNfun to be a part of. I don't see it as an obsession or anything else, because I was quite content with being away when I was. However, I DO have several friends here, and I enjoy the positive interaction I have with others. And in helping out and passing on my knowledge (and learning other things anyway).
I hope to remain this time regardless. Even if I end up going inactive at some point (which I don't foresee at this point)

YES. I'm very much addicted to this site, but not in a obsessive way...I'm more then capable of being away if I have to. I do have a story though from back in the day. lol Back in Christmas of 2008 we had a bad snow storm, and as a result we had lost power. It had been hours since the power had been off, and the temperature in the house was rapidly dropping, so we went to my grandma's house to wait it out. I didn't bring my laptop, as I thought the power would be back on by the time we got home. I was wrong. The power didn't come back on that night. We had decided to stay at my grandma's house until our power was restored. A couple more days had passed , still no power. At this point in time we needed to change our clothes, so my parents ran home to get what we needed. I had requested for my laptop. I remember that poor computer being nearly frozen stiff. Anyways, there isn't internet out there, but at this point I was going crazy. I happened to have recordings of me browsing Balto source, So I watched them. That just made it worse. This whole situation lasted about a week. It was complete torture. Note: This was 2008, I wasn't as nearly as mature as I am now. Like I said, I can go without and be cool... I just enjoy being here. Even though this site has its problems, I just set all that aside an enjoy being with my friends, and participating in what the site has to offer. Trust me, I plan to stick around for awhile yet. I know this might be a bit off topic, but I actually became a member here around spring/summer of 2006. I don't like to talk about my past here, but I did delete that account. I came back shortly after that under this account. EDIT: I know I made a note, but I want it to be clear that I'm not necessarily obsessed with Animation Source...I might spend a lot of time here, but that's because I don't have much to do at home. When I do find myself not being able to get on I'm cool with that. I might after awhile wonder what's going on, but whatever that might be, it will still be there when I return. And for those who do have a bad obsession, leave them be...They have a right to be here just as much as anyone else does. Nor do they need to be pointed out and laughed at. They're just as human as the rest of are. As long as they're not causing problems I see no need for those individuals to leave. I can understand it it becomes a problem, but I've not seen that happen. Now, I DON'T spend sunup till sundown on here...Yes, I spend a lot of time on here, but I do get off my computer around 3:30PM after my dad leaves for work, and my mom has gotten home from baby sitting, to visit with my mother. Also during that time I play with my dog, perhaps brush her...After that I go outside for a bit. Depends on the mood really, but if not I just watch some TV. Oh, and another thing, just because I might be on AS, it doesn't mean I'm on the entire time...Ever hear of an invention called "tabs?" I can be on other places too...I'm even working on graphics in photoshop, and I can spend an hour or more just working in photoshop without being on AS.

Yes, I do like this place and a lot... I've met some pretty nice people who I do keep in touch with on a regular basis from here. But not by any means whatsoever this is my life... I really only come on in my free time. If you gave me the choice to go hang out with mah friends or come on here, I'd choose my friends over this place any day of the week.

YES! YES, YES, and again YES! Sorry for caps, but I can't say it better: Baltosource is, like, my second, or often, even first/main home when I didn't have a better choice xD There I have true, awesome friends, I can share my art, create/design characters...This is the place where I can do all the things I like- draw, animate, talk, find friends...Everything!
I love BS more than any other site, and I think this love will never leave my heart xD

I would say I have this Syndrome; obviously I'm not "OMG IT'S BEEN 4 HOURS SINCE I'VE BEEN ON ANIMATION SOURCE- NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" lol , I can go without AS for a month, before I really start to miss it - simply because I spend a lot of time on AS, and when it's gone it does leave me with a few hours extra per day to kill.

I don't happen to see myself being at all obsessed with this site. While I enjoy being here and helping out, I can go hours and even days without being on it, and I feel nothing adverse because of that. While I don't hold it against anyone if they want to spend nearly every waking hour here (odd as that might be), that's not my thing. I don't have a problem with those who have the syndrome to an obsessive level. But I guess there are those of us who cannot seem to let people enjoy themselves without making small-minded comments about them.
